I would be resetting the remote, sounds like someone else's remote is operating on the same frequency or someone has a scanner and scanned your frequency. Something is definitely not right.
Appreciate this and your unit memory clearing video. We live in a a development where all houses are near identical and all have the same gear installed, including garage openers. It’s a long shot that the code was duplicated or the alternative being the previous residents kept an opener. Either way, it’s fixed now thanks to you.

Did the remote previously work with the controller? If it's a new controller it could be the wrong one as there are different types (even though they look the same), you need the correct controller, not all will work with all units. If it did work previously replace the battery with a new battery and try again.
i am doing as you mentioned however when i press the S button it does not flash on and off, it stays on. i have replaced battery in remote, can you thing of what else could be the issue

Hi Mike, can you help me please. I bought a LIFTAWAY garage door remote (LA236) from Bunnings and it is not working with my STEEL-LINE garage door. On the packaging it clearly says it is compactible with STEEL-LNE. Thank you.
No you need the E945 if you have this garage door, others will not work. They look the same but are different internally from what I understand. I have struck the same problem in the past.
Thanks for this Mike. This is only semi-related to the video but have you ever installed a smart garage door opener onto one of these? I am looking on websites and the wiring diagram says its compatible with the ST50EVOB but wants you to wire the smart garage door opener unit into the pins that currently have the Blue button taking up that slot. No idea what the frequency is you just need to buy the correct remote, this door requires the E945 remote, others will not work.

You might have some further issues or you might have a different model opener.

I don't think it will, these are very specific. You have to get the exact part number.

The LA236 is a compatible remote for the BOSS BHT4, BRD1, BRD3, BOL4, most others use the E945 remote, which is the one in this video.

Is that the Merlin + or the Merlin +2.0 remote?
Neither it’s not a Merlin opener it’s a steel line garage door opener that uses a E945 remote.

I pressed the P button(I wasn't sure) now it's not opening even with the blue button.
If it does its opening then half closing.
Never touch the P button, you will need to contact someone that sets these doors up as all the parameters are no longer set.
I think I have to reprogram the unit.
