I probably know it's not gonna happen but pretty please do another tutorial about roses with a darker pencil that's easier to follow, and with the camera pointing straighter and closer to what you're drawing if possible. The angling makes it hard to accurately look at the shapes you're drawing and the red pencil is so light it really blends into the paper. I have looked over tons of tutorials and yours is easily the best I've seen yet, but I wish it was easier to see the what you do specifically at the start where most people have the most trouble. Thanks so much for putting it up though, maybe with enough rewatching I can finally get how to draw roses in the end. My apprenticeship is pretty much riding on the fact that even though I can draw almost anything else, I can't get flowers and roses are especially hard. Subscribed in a heartbeat and hopefully you'll do more tutorials!
Sadly, we couldn’t see the beginning lines whatsoever, so I found it impossible to continue since I didn’t have the beginning

Try drawing cabbages, maybe they'll turn out looking like roses

I found a fix, draw a couple balls and eggs first, then try a rose. Not sure why it works but it does for me. Let us know?

your videos really helped me overcome my sketching-trauma ( sketching
and drawing was all i did as a child and got continually rejected by
childrens magazines, they wouldnt print it, assuming my parents made
them, sending them back saying so. so i stopped).
2 colleagues of mine are tattoo artists next to their main job( theyre working only parttime) and i figured that its something i really would like to do.
thats when i picked up sketching again 2 months ago, showed them my work and, yeah, they liked it enough to tutor me.
still much to learn but thanks to your videos being a great help the progress is much faster than figuring everything out on my own.

Ive slowed down the speed and zoomed close up to your drawing. It is one of the BEST ❤instructions on the rose. Some people are complaining but on the iphone its so easy to get up front and center. Video is six years old and hopefully you’re still teaching. You’re excellent in showing the rose. Thank you so much. This also helps me with painting the rose 🌹 👏🏻

I agree, a better camera angle would be awesome. I love the third style you have here an want to take more inspiration from your art but it's a bit hard to see. When learning to draw something new I learn several ways from several people and create my own from there and your style is very inspiring. Please keep up the good work. Also, the roses on your neck are amazing!!!

So the only reason you use the red pencil is because its lighter? Is it more light than using a HB or 2H pencil? I see a lot of people using red and I never knew why.
Kayla Varcoe red is used because it can’t be picked up in a copy machine so if you mess up in the red or blue it doesn’t matter and won’t show up if you copy it.

damn this could have been really good, but idk if its the white balance or the red color pencil, but it was impossible to see how you get them started. The only thing I could see was your black lines.

well i guess it's not your dream to begin with. practice makes perfect and tattoo artists have to practice twice as much, cause being excellent at drawing is not enough to become awesome at tattooing...

hammergeilhier it is my dream I love drawing and tattooing “on fake skin” I know I have to practice lost ... it just seems like everyone around me thinks I’m good except for me and that is what stops me from my true potential.
