RIP Christopher Plummer this is an appearance for a video game yet we see him giving a great performance and shows him to be a true actor. We do not get actors like these anymore. He will sadly be missed.
I like how even in the middle of a large scale engagement, Chang’s bridge officers do not even question his order to lower the shields so that he can transport over.
He did die with honour, in a sense. He died fighting for what he genuinely believed in, and if you take this game into account he went into it knowing full well he wouldn’t survive, and there’s enough to suggest he initially intended to go out fighting the Enterprise right after the assassination had Kirk not surrendered. Yes the betrayal of Gorkon and the conspiracy was distasteful but hardly new to Klingon politics.
I want to think the Star Trek Online mission Brushfire was partly inspired by this intro. Large battle with lots of Klingon ships. Martok beaming over to Torg's ship after you disable it and issuing the same challenge. Torg cheating to win and getting his ass kicked anyway... I think so.
This is such a great game! I still have all the CDs. Unfortunately they came in a slipcase made of cardboard back then and and have been worn of by just playing the game, as you had to slip the CDs constantly out of the cardboard and back in. There wasn‘t a manual included as well. I sometimes wondered if I bought an illegal copy, but the package was sealed, the CDs are properly imprinted and the game was bought at a big electronics store.
I still have my copy, but mine came with a manual it's about an inch or so, looks like a scribbler but all the imaging and everything. as for the CD's and case, still pretty close to mint. I remember playing this 20 years ago when it came out. Great times hahaaa
Mine had a pretty thick manual, inctircately detailing semi-in-lore everything about the game. I always thought it was part of the Starfleet Technical Manuals until my dad actually bought the real ones!
Imagine how jacked everyone in this cutscene were to be acting with a legend like Christopher Plummer?

All these years later, I still hear this epic intro in my sleep. RIP Plummer.

The way Chang's ship blew up the K'Tinga Battlecruiser was epic.
Thank you, this is the best quality I've seen of this intro yet.
RIP Christopher Plummer, QAPLA!
He died?
The music at the begining is epic.....surprised they didn't use it in the movies
If only the General hadn't died with such dishonor. He would have been remembered in story and song. Rest in Sto Vo Kor Christopher Plummer.
Chang's statue is in the hall of heroes on Ty'GoKor (season 5, DS9). The Klingons probably wanted to remember who he was, rather than who he died as.

No, I had the exact same case, and the exact same issues you had :)

If only interplay released it's collection to steam
I remember it was a great game
Was? Still IS along with Bridge Commander (Kobyashi Maru modded) on PCs that can run em.
In the TNG-episode "Hide and Q", Q also quoted Shakepeare's "tale told by an idiot" line like Chang did here.
