I do wonder if Chief Justice Roberts, if asked his opinion regarding introduction of witnesses or other matters in the course of presiding over the trial, whether he would offer opinion or advice to the senators with regard to considerations for deliberation. It seems like a logical role for someone in his role. It wouldn't be binding, it would be helpful. I am not sure how inquiries of the Justice are allowed in the process.
