    Btw the Asscoiated seems to have the same twitchy feel on the shorties

      Thanks for the comment, the new AE is a very similar chassis layout to the Xray and has similar traits. Once you get the shock setup setup with lighter oil and springs the cars will handle much better.

    I was hoping to see your on track comparison portion! I am torn between the xray and mp10e. I want c-hub(which I know is a option kit for xray but pricey) but with the kyosho I want the configuration of the xray layout lol. I drove the mp10e this weekend and it is impressive. Also wondering how long it will be until the 23 comes out. decisions deceisions
    Edit: oh wait I just saw you did drive them both in another video, going to watch it now. Thanks!

      Thank you for leaving a comment and checking out our videos! The Xray is an awesome platform but we don’t have much experience with the c hub setup vs the pillow ball. There wasn’t much improvements from the 21 to the 22 car but it seems most manufacturers are copying the dual shorty design which makes a huge difference over a standard 4s car. Usually Xray is early spring for the latest car releases for the 1/8 platform.
      Our biggest recommendation is always look into what is the easiest in your area to get parts and information for when selecting a brand. We do not have much experience with the Kyosho cars as here in Canada they are quite expensive (similar to the Xray) and much harder to get our hands on

    Do you think the double shorty configuration is a bit light hence the twitchy nature on throttle? Maybe the larger batteries will settle it down with the extra weight?

    • @ultrarchobbies
      @ultrarchobbies  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment. With the electric cars having much more power on demand then the nitro counter parts and now having a similar weight with the chassis it is much more twitchy then the nitro. The extra weight of the 4s will for sure slow down the responsiveness of the chassis as adding weight will always make the car react slower. It takes a bit to find a setup on diffs and shocks but once you get a better setup for your particular driving style and track the cars tend to be very good

    Hi what size pinion are you using in the xbe21 with 1900kv motor?

    • @ultrarchobbies
      @ultrarchobbies  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We were running a 15-17t pinion depending on traction, straight away length and where jumps were placed out of corners on the tracks we tested it on this summer

    Nice review!! What battery(saddle) is on it?

      Thank you for leaving a comment! The XB8 21 is using two Gens Ace 7.6v 6000mah Redline HV lipo packs and the XB8 20 is using one 4s Gens Ace 6000mah Redline pack

      Thank you for leaving a comment! We are really excited to test them on our track as it is loose and dusty to see how the saddle pack setup works vs the standard 4s stick pack setup on the XB8E 20!

      @@ultrarchobbies Have you had a chance to review the single battery for the saddles set up? Thanks

      @ultrarchobbies  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Stonew24 we have had our first race weekend this past weekend and what we found was the saddle pack car was .2 tenths faster then the XB8 20 with the single 4s. Track conditions were low to low medium grip throughout the day. We are planning on a couple more test days to get the full picture on when the 21 is broken in. Full review to come though so please stay tuned.

      @@ultrarchobbies thank you, that is helpful. Did you feel any difference in corning and steering out of the corners between the single and saddle packs? Thanks

    • @ultrarchobbies
      @ultrarchobbies  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Stonew24 we found the saddle pack car jumped more level and easier then the brick pack car. The saddle pack car also felt much more similar to a nitro as well so tuning between the two is a breeze as they corner very similar just different throttle curves. The saddle pack car feels much more direct as it tends to be a little lighter then the brick pack for what we tested (may be different depending on the brick pack you use)
