Who would think that a city filled with the same mundane day-to-day life, could be reduced to such sadness and despair, destruction and chaos? When you're walking through the streets in RE3 and you hear this track playing, you can't help but to notice just how empty the city feels. There are wrecked cars and barricades, flower pots spilled and barrels knocked over but not a single soul in sight - just zombies and inanimate corpses. It speaks something powerful, puts to shame any B-zombie movie that is focused on action and story progression. Through this music track and walking the streets in RE3, you can hear the city cry.
Nowhere is safe, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, no one will help you, you are on your own in the cold night of dead city, that became a barricade maze of death and destruction. That's what I hear in this track. Simply magnificent.
***** Well, I know that many people like it, and even consider the best in the series, but for me, the series lost it's core atmosphere, and gameplay after third game (outbreak excluded, those were still good).
+Raiko Seria yh i know i played all re games i know what u mean and im like u too i like the old games also i hope they do outbreak HD 60fps with online ill definitely pay 1000$ for it
I remember playing this game for the first time, back in 2001. I was 11 at the time. Scariest experience I had playing a video game. It's the only game where I became so overwhelmed I had to hit the off button at one point. It was after I found Carlos, and Nemesis started walking slowly up the stairs. I became so panicked I had to stop playing. It took me two solid weeks of playing to beat, at one point after ringing the church bell and seeing the helicopter descend I started celebrating, thinking I'd finally beaten the game, before Nemesis came out of nowhere and decimated it. Good times.
This is true resident evil, it´s not action, it´s horror itself. This is my favorite OST in all the Resident Evil series, it makes you feel "alone" while you´re trying to survive and being observed in every corner of the city of the dead.
Uma das melhores trilhas sonoras para resident...retrata exatamente o caos e desespero da cidade racom city o clima e o caos permanece... Sobreviver é o único objetivo
I think this is one of the best songs in Resident Evil history, and I think this song does the best job of capturing the atmosphere of Raccoon City during the incident.
This theme is in my top five res themes, when i heard this for the 1st time i was really scared, but when i listnen to it now, i think about life..... the power of music, thats why it will always be a classic for me.
Señor Hertz Yes sir. I have had the pleasure of experiencing the good woman's moans myself, since I was in the room with her at the time she was making them. Cheers!
I just found me a orginal ps1 copy of this game. Im pretty happy to be playing it on ps again. This was my favorite RE except the remake of RE1 on the gamecube. This game has a better scare to it because of nemesis chasing you all around.
Awesome game, remember playin it...got to the the part after u like shoot down the helicopter...and than u have to solve some puzzle in the time limit but while I was doing it my ps1 stopped working...lol I hope I was near the end and didn't miss much of the game, cuz anyway Nemesis was dead and I was satisfied...wow it was years ago and I still remember it!
@SoylentCyan I totally agree. They BGM set the mood in the early RE games. Even so in Code Veronica. Now, the music is sill good, I give Capcom that much credit the music is never horrible but it's just Action/Adventure, rather than Survival Horror. I want the good Ol'e days back where when I load up Resident Evil I see the infamous message, " You have once again entered the world of Survival Horror, Good Luck!"
Nemesis is the Best antagonist in the series Behind Albert Wesker. I loved Resident Evil 3's format, that desperation for survival feeling. Then they had the trader Mercenary Nikolai, Jill being infected with the T-Virus, Mercenary turned hero Carlos and Nemesis. Game was just too good. I feel like it's underrated among the entire series.
They should remake the games. Better graphics. 3D environment rendering. But same gameplay mechanics (i.e. static camera angles, not OTS). That'll breathe new life to the classics IMO.
RE3 The soundtrack is one of the best series that has no doubt. Maybe it's better. This song is the one that reflects the dark hours of Raccoon City. A masterpiece.
@UmbrellaCorp96 RE 0 was great and gave a lot of back story from what i played. Carlos was an interesting character. How could they just kill of Albert like that? Maybe the introduction to Alex Wesker, but still such an iconic villian and just thrown away like that.
@losferword Oh yeah, speaking of Darkside Chronicles, the RE gun con games were pretty decent as well, obviously nothing serious enough emerged out of the "side quests" of those games to be mentioned or continued in the main storyline but they weren't horrible. I never played the Original RE: Survivor but I did play through RE: Dead Aim multiple times. I wonder if they are ever tie in those other characters in the main game by the end of the series. Bruce McGivern and Fong Ling. Good Times.
@UmbrellaCorp96 STEVE...yes we need him >: he is actually the one that is keeping the whole series unclosed for me..if they never bring him back D: same kinda with sherry
@losferword Yeah, I orginally thought Sherry was "Ashley", but they later revealed she was "The President's Daughter". Random.. But yea RE has left alot of doors opened and each games doesn't appeal to close any, they just create new questions. That's good to a certain extent but sucks for those of use who actuall care about each character and the storyline of the series overall. They never made the Connection of Jill and Chris re-united after RE: 3 and Code Veronica. Not to mention Claire.
@krystame Steve? Really? Well, though not entirely conclusive, it was shown in RE: CV that Steve was tested upon using the T-Veronica Virus like Nosferatu (Alexander Ashford). After attacking Claire he "seemingly" died, though his body apparently was recovered by Albert Wesker for further study. I personally think Carlos is the missing link. After pretty much a starring role in RE: 3 alongside Jill Valentine, there has been no mention of him since, even though he and Jill escaped together.
@losferword every Resident Evil Has it's great qualities and that's why it's one of my favorite, if not the Favorite, video game series. I feel like Resident Evil 2 wasn't "better" than RE: 3 Nemesis, just that RE: 2 was anticipated after the Successful groundbreaking of the original. Resident 1 - Code Veronica were the best. RE: 4 & 5 changed a lot and re-shaped characters.. To RE: 5's credit it did play "clean up" pretty well and link some past events to the present games for consistency.
@UmbrellaCorp96 Not necesarily remake, but like HD port that would be fine. But thats just me. There are so many interesting characters that are completly left out(main or not) like billy, ark,HUNK. Krauser was indeed a bad ass, too bad he only appeared at the end of 4 and killed off almost immediately, similar to wesker in RE 5. I would really like HUNK despite being a somewhat lesser characer, but hey he can do so much.
@losferword I do agree with that. The Co-op in RE: 5 was/is Great! I Love it .I honestly wished they remade the RE's for the PlayStation and Microsoft consoles rather than Nintendo.Umbrella Chronicles should ave been Multi-platformed considering Nintendo never had a RE until 4. Well, I'm kinda off subject now but yeah the Co-OP was Excellent. Loved Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape as Well. They tied them into the game very consistently.
@SakuraRedfield96 Resident Evil Code Veronica was great. Yea, I personal feel that RE's 4 and 5 were... so-so.. It's like their abandoning everything they did before, Storyline, Survival Horror and overall theme. I believe that Code Veronica was the last "Great" Resident Evil.
@UmbrellaCorp96 If it wasn't for RE 4 the series would probably end up in the garbage. RE is my favorite franchise, and like you said each game has its own unique feeling. RE 5 did not have a fear factor like the rest, but it had one hell of a co op experience.
@UmbrellaCorp96 I feel that with new people working on RE, they are forgetting so many things. Sherry, what happened? Steve's body was taken by S corporation. Excella did not do much either, she was actually interesting. I like all the females(expect ashely) in RE, they are femme fatalies hands down. But back on track there are a lot of questions left unanswered.
@losferword Hunk.. hmm. Of the Lesser Characters I would like to see the return of Carlos. He played a major role in RE: 3 and then was never to be heard from again. I was big on Resident Evil: Zero's Billy Cohen, just because I feel that game was just put together to make money and no really advance the story or add background. Wesker's fate in RE: 5 was very upsetting. I can't see anyone who is more deserving to be the Series' antagonist other than Wesker.
@losferword Yea They were heavy on Alex's name in the Lost in Nightmare's Scenario. maybe Alex and Albert look alike and make it easier to adapt to the new character. If not, that sucks. Though Excella Didn't do much in the ways of the story is concerned.. I liked her, she had growth possibilities.. Ada Wong and Alexia Ashford are my favorite as far as the Female's go, outside of Jill of course. Alfred Ashford was a sweet character too. They should bring Steve back for Mercenaries mode .
@UmbrellaCorp96 the only problem i had with the game wa sthat it was way to short..once u knew where to go you could easily fly through the game in a matter of hours..its a small complaint...either way RE 1-3 in my opinion are the definitive series..even code:veronica can fit in there
@losferword Definately man, Chris is a beast but Jill is def. more than just a "partner". If Chris played his cards right he might have to add Sheva to the "partner" list as well. LOL. Leon seems to have a thing for Ada, but he's apparently RE's most Suave Character, so he could get Claire, Ada or Ashley if he wanted. I sure if Claire Makes a return she's gonna be some Bad ass like Alice in the RE: movies. They alwayz make a character come back in style, a la Leon, Chris and Jill.
@losferword Nah, they wouldn't work with Kinect, and they would probably cost too much to do a complete remake of the game to utilize the features of the game considering it's just a Side quest, an old side quest at that. I don't think they should remake the side quests but they should incorporate the Surviving characters in the series at some point, just to let fans know what ultimately happened with the characters. BTW, I want Jack Krauser Back. Hands down the Best Character in RE: 4
@UmbrellaCorp96 It's a darn shame isn't it? I don't even consider RE5 worthy enough to earn the title of Resident Evil because there's not much it has in common with the previous installments other than the labelling and the fact that it was made by Capcom. It seems like a cross between Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid because its more action packed than a survival horror. I don't see much of a horror aspect to it but RE4 does earn the title since it still gave me some goosebumps...
@UmbrellaCorp96 Those games were pretty fun, but too bad they were just side stories. They should remake them now that motion controls are getting kind of hot. Id buy a PS move just to play all the RE rail shooters. But i do not know it can work as well with the kinect though.
@losferword In other words its beyond repair. There isn't anything wrong with adding some fresh ideas but now it is just as cliche as a lot of games on the market. Lack of originality betrays a fundamental asset to the game. The series is excellent and RE4 was amazing but now it's plunged into uncertainty since RE5 came out.
Nemesis vs. Albert Wesker? Call Me crazy but if you guys remember RE: 3 correctly Alexia Ashford sent Wesker running for his life. She was in Cryogenic stasis for 15 years allowing her power from the T-Veronica Virus to accumulate. Now, by far, Wesker is and has been superior in abilities, strength and intellect than any Tyrant, including Nemesis. The only other character that could have possibly defeated Wesker Toe-to-Toe would have been Alexia Ashford.
@AngelCaged Yea. I just miss the older format. I know Capcom wanted to broaden the game and make it appeal to more audiences but by doing that it robbed the long time supporters of the game a little at the same time. I might sound unpopular by saying this by original before 4 and 5 released.. I thought RE: 2 was the weakest RE they made. I wasn't a Fan of Leon or Claire, I wanted Jill Chris, Barry and Rebecca Back. At that time Wesker was thought to be dead. But RE: 2 was a huge fan favorite.
Resident Evil 3 is fucking awesomeeeeee! For me is the best resident evil game, hot chick, and Nemesis, that guy is the fucking master, he follows you around, when I was running across a hallway and hear the door closing "bam" I was scared as hell XD he took the shit out of me a couple of times lol and my heartbeat was like 500 per second! Lol
@UmbrellaCorp96 Another thing i disliked, Chris is like "I gotta save jill since she is my partner" i mean come on really? that is the best they can come up with? I would of prefered they would give them a more closer relationship rather than have Chris simply see her as a "partner".
They should remake the games. Better graphics. 3D environment rendering. But same gameplay mechanics (i.e. static camera angles, not OTS). That'll breathe new life to the classics IMO.

Through this music track and walking the streets in RE3, you can hear the city cry.
wow, you captured the sentiment perfectly in that paragraph. I'm impressed.
"hear the city cry"
That was very accurate
It's so depressing..I love it!
Nowhere is safe, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, no one will help you, you are on your own in the cold night of dead city, that became a barricade maze of death and destruction.
That's what I hear in this track. Simply magnificent.
yh but in RE6 and RE5 you can use physical and fuck the eniemies lol
***** 4 too, and all the new ones, like revelations and etc... First three games, along with outbreak were a true survival horror games.
+Raiko Seria yh i know but i like RE4 thats why i didnt put it in the list xD

poor Brad, it's 2014 now, and nemesis is still holding him lol
R.I.P Brad Vickers. >3
2016, he still doin' it
That fricking coward deserved it
2022 still there...
Nemesis : who... is... your owner...now.
this is by far one of the best ost of resident evil..so dramatic, so hopeless
awesome music, i really miss the old resident evil games!!
This is true resident evil, it´s not action, it´s horror itself. This is my favorite OST in all the Resident Evil series, it makes you feel "alone" while you´re trying to survive and being observed in every corner of the city of the dead.
This is in my opinion the best resident evil of all.
Painfully beautiful. I don't need more words.
This gives hopelessness as in the situation of the game
Thank you for the song, brings back lot's of good memories!
I think this is one of the best songs in Resident Evil history, and I think this song does the best job of capturing the atmosphere of Raccoon City during the incident.
I can't believe it's been almost 16 years this game was released, I miss being a child and playing this
This theme is in my top five res themes, when i heard this for the 1st time i was really scared, but when i listnen to it now, i think about life..... the power of music, thats why it will always be a classic for me.
this song brings back memories automatically :_
the psx age, my teenage; days that won't come back again.
melancholy
Amazing Scary music,RE, RE2, RE3 and RE CODE VERONICA these are still the best and pure survival horror game!!!
It doesn't feel complete without the zombie moans.
but this ost hits the spot.
gives the atmosphere of a "dead" town.
10/10
MrScuto Yep.
Xehanort10 Listen carefully on friday night, you'll hear moans coming from your mothers room.
All the best.
Deacon Swayne You're talking on your personal experience right?
Señor Hertz Yes sir. I have had the pleasure of experiencing the good woman's moans myself, since I was in the room with her at the time she was making them. Cheers!
"Welcome... To the living Nightmare"
Really Nemesis look like its welcoming us! :O

I finished this game like 8 times xD it was really cool back then :)
When I was little boy,I played in this game.nostalgia...
They should remake the games. Better graphics. 3D environment rendering. But same gameplay mechanics (i.e. static camera angles, not OTS). That'll breathe new life to the classics IMO.
RE3 would probably be the best in the series for a complete makeover, where you can roam the city freely.
True, but i'm afraid that it would only be appreciated by nostalgic players such as we.
New generation of players only require COD and AC...
just wait
@@kimmolaine8069 Your ideas were better than what we ended up with.
July 6th, daylight.....
The COVID19 has overtaken the city.....
Somehow.....
I'm still alive!
the best game i've ever played in my life better than anygame will came out in future
RE3 The soundtrack is one of the best series that has no doubt. Maybe it's better. This song is the one that reflects the dark hours of Raccoon City. A masterpiece.
@UmbrellaCorp96 It was commerically successsul but it is still overshadowed by RE 2. I love every RE game.
Re 1, 2 and 3 has that "smell" of the 90ths that I love very much xD
the best song in all RE games
@UmbrellaCorp96 RE 0 was great and gave a lot of back story from what i played. Carlos was an interesting character. How could they just kill of Albert like that? Maybe the introduction to Alex Wesker, but still such an iconic villian and just thrown away like that.
the new nemesis I saw looked like he was on a diet and was walking to you instead of running..

I've always thought this was the best atmospheric music for Raccoon City.
I LOVE THIS OST. PART OF THE GAME WHEN YOU GET IN THE BAR & Dan UNLOCK THA BACK DOOR .
@UmbrellaCorp96 Leon is a player lol. I wonder if they will ever recognize the other main characters.
As Alyssa Ashcroft once said, "The city's...gone..." LOVE this track.
@UmbrellaCorp96 STEVE...yes we need him >: he is actually the one that is keeping the whole series unclosed for me..if they never bring him back D: same kinda with sherry
Kinda reminds me of my hometown when it's dark.
@Noah837 When a genres cup is filled its really hard to implement more originality.
@losferword Yeah, I orginally thought Sherry was "Ashley", but they later revealed she was "The President's Daughter". Random.. But yea RE has left alot of doors opened and each games doesn't appeal to close any, they just create new questions. @UmbrellaCorp96 I feel that with new people working on RE, they are forgetting so many things. Sherry, what happened? Steve's body was taken by S corporation. So glad I beated this game too bad my ps2 don't let it play anymore I blame my lil cousin for scratching it and fucked it up
the picture above is on fission street
@UmbrellaCorp96 With the Playstation move they can easily port DSC.
