The romantic and inspired Lou Reed..i adore his songs and his dry and rough voice in his poems dedicated to women and friends..this Lisa was really lucky to be the target of this immense song..Beautiful..
Lisa is a pretty name, and not too common these days, I think it was for us 90s kids. My name's Daniel, suuper boring, but I like Elton John's song, "Daniel"
@@danielrosic2960 I was born in the 60s I'm a lisa too. Lots of us from back then. I'm surprised it never came back around to being in style. I had a huge crush on a Daniel back in the day so I personally like the name.
everytime I listen to this song I can only hear LES SAUCISSES wich means the sausages! in french .Ive ruined this song for friends before they cant un-hear it
Funny. This sort of thing happens to me too. For YEARS I thought Cheap Trick's Robin Zander was singing ''He's a Jew and loves money'' in a song called TAXMAN,MR.THIEF. He actually sings ''He hates you..." What I thought I was hearing made me wince for many years.
This is a great version, glad to have found it, I don't have the album. A clear recording of young Lou I hadn't heard before, such a gift, praise the the invisible pink unicorn.
He was a romantic. In England that was impossible after about 75. Punk was a crude and often false stamping on the last vestiges of any romantic artists in pop or rock. The critics were a bunch of failed rock stars with too much education.
@@rm009z0858 Very true the song Ever fallen in love (with someone you shouldn't have) could easily have been an ode to Goethe famous German romantic novel The sorrows of young Werther and the fact that it was written by Pete Shelley who shares his surname with none other than the famous English romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley makes it all the more romantic!

Lou's debut gets a lot of flak (I can hear now the production is weak and some of these songs are not his best), but I appreciate how two of the boys from a little band called Yes underplay and cater to Reed's style and sound
A '70s version vs. a '60s version... Well, I like it! It translates good into a '70s vibe. I also love the little chick on the front cover! It's sweet.

"The critics were a bunch of failed rock stars with too much education" I like that...
Although I could argue for some exceptions, this is a great observation.
The Buzzcocks, one of the original UK 1976 punk bands sang love songs.

In my Lou Reed playlist with the VU version, which has different lyrics in some places. Thanks for the upload!

Lisa Says - Lou Reed
Danny Says - Ramones 😂
Hard to decide which version is better, this one or the Velvet Underground one

Nothing will beat the live 1969 version for me at least musically. As this version has just about the same lyrics.
