Johannessen was PISSED after the stage. Although it was his first WT stage race ever, he is harsh on himself and has an incredible winner mentality. I absolutely cannot believe Uno X was snubbed in getting a TDF wildcard this year. Just look at how well and mature they ride as a collective in any race they start in. They would be such an x factor this summer. And as a bonus, I would have loved to celebrate this wonderful sport with my fellow brothers and sisters from Norway for the first three stages in Denmark. From my perspective, Almeida should have been made the solo leader once he won the queen stage and became the race leader. It's silly not to make him the leader once he got the leader's jersey. Though Almeida seriously needs to improve his race positioning, if Ayuso had given 100% and pulled as hard as he could with Costa during the climb yesterday, we all know that Almeida would have won the race for UAE... Who's it to blame? Ayuso? the Director?

The only one to blame is the UAE DS. Everyone knows that the brake on stage 6 would have been neutralized if they worked as a team. So UAE DS has the responsability for not having won the GC at this year Catalunya Tour. To many leaders and few domestiques at UAE atm, and if they don't get their act together it will happen every single time that Pogacar is not at the race.

Whenever their leader is in struggle (rarely ever happened at UAE) they seem to not know what to do. Like Mcnulty in the basque country last year, Pogacar was pacing for him for a good while, even though it was clear Mcnulty wasn't going far that stage. It made them lose the race instantly as a group with all the other favorites were ahead. I have also seen it a bit during the one day classics where it was pretty much only Polanc working for them but despite outnumbering other teams they don't commit to a pace or don't seem to agree on who to work for. It's the best climbing team on paper at the moment but there seems to be little cohesion between all of them. Yesterday and today also a good example as said in this video. If they waited yesterday on Rui Costa they could have paced with a fresher Soler and Costa until the later climbs. And yes, Ayuso should have done some work too.

UAE director are showing that they have no hand on that team. Pogacar is the Everything man on that team.
Its pure ass move, to fully blame Ayuso yesterday, when Almeida has clearly a Very Huge problem on positioning, he has amazing legs to climb at his pace not caring about positining that much but in other situations he needs to use is head. Costa and Pogacar have alot to teach him how to positioning.
Ayuso looked like a fool yesterday for not working (because lets be honest if the team is working for intermediate sprints for one goal you need to do it too on the next day, but the same can be told about almeida positionign for the same intermediate sprint being aweful..) And today he did the same exact thing. On the descend almeida tells him to relay and he doesn't do it ? your're crakcked but at least go to the front, you cant pull harder pull what you can, you will make lesser dumb figure. He's young and dumb, but needs to look at this and learn.
UAE has amazing team on paper and individual, but on the road we see how bad they are. And how much they need to grow. (last year 11/14 WT victories were from pogacar, not Team emirates but team pogacar).

Ayuso stating he wants to be better than pogacar during training might have ruffled some feathers seems he has been frustrated and showing it with Soler already can't afford that : ) he wasn't happy with Soler stage 3 ,almeida stage 4, attacked on descent stage six little demonstrative sitting up asking bike time check comm's issues... someone should remind him pogacar won l'avenir, then Algarve , and California in 2019 before going to Vuelta to work for fabio aru, so humble start and eventually rode himself onto podium. We know what's happened since, I think either could have won this race strength wise with cohesion but almeida starting stage six way too far back was mistake as he admitted and lack of communication/cohesion just looks unprofessional. Ineos had strength but still lost porte sickness they have 0 excuses uae only lost a lead out man. Chapeau higuita, and carapaz formigal style attack that stage was made for it , uae wasn't in good position and still shouldn't have mattered if they went to front and pulled it back others would help once they thought stage was winnable they shouldn't need arkea in that instance. Ayuso showed that pulling back a minute in short distance if he'd done it on rolling dry terrain or climb with team changes race. Crazy. Credit and cojones on duo higi and carapaz , side note carapaz celebration winning two up sprint with higi seemed dramatic no? I love that they sprinted after all that effort again cojones but higuita had race lead and waited on descents all day, maybe his style and what makes him so scrappy kudos 180 k 💪🤙

Honestly if Ayuso is doing that, just because the director give him the freedom to go solo, otherwise I don't see a rookie of 19 years old , doing what he wants

Is UAE a powder keg bigger than Movistar? whe POG is not on the helm WHO Is there to take the team on a leash and follow the lead? Ayuso and Soler are showing they come this far from a school of spoiled brat young cyclist? do they have to wait on the line or keep play landa?
