Gday Andrew, I'm upgrading my 6.5kw solar array to 18.12kw array with Sungrow SBR256 batteries on a 3 Phase Sungrow SH15T inverter. I'm having second thoughts on this arrangement due to power requirements. I'm trying to rationale the upgrade to the SH25T and SBH 300 Battery due to higher continuous amps to run my whole house. The reason for the bigger inverter is that i've read that the 3 phase inverters cannot load share over the phases, so the SH15T would only provide 5kw per phase. If this is the case, if you go over 5kw on one phase, you will then draw from the grid to supplement the needs even if you have plenty of power in the batteries, hence, the reason to go to the bigger inverter like the SH25T which would give me 8.3kw per phase. Is this correct? Thanks

If you have a 15kw inverter 3P what rate of power can the battery charge take ie 5kw allows normally about 4.5kw charge rate into the battery, based on that does that mean if you have a 15kw inverter the charge rate would be approx 14.5kw going into the battery or 25kw inverter charge into battery 23kw etc,, all just approx figures..
Hi Andy, each 5kWh SBH module has a nominal power of 3.52kW so you would want at least 5 for the 15kW hybrid and 8 for the larger hybrid to be able to achieve the inverters continuous AC ratings.
Hi Andrew. Can thec15kw inverter run with only 4 strings? My existing system has 2 imputs on 2 mppts. For 17.76kw pv. Or would i need to add another string?
What is the DC Input Current max on the 3 mppts? I hear bifacial panels input a lot of current, almost 17A during surges. And is it possible to achieve seamless power switching from grid to backup if we DONT use Sungrow batteries but another high voltage battery pack?

Hi, can i load the battery of a Sungrow SH10RT with a generator in Off-Grid? I´ve been told only the SH10RS can do this and now i see the SH25T can do it too.
@@andrewthomson7554 I would use the generator only by energy shortages during an possible Brown or Blackout as an backup solution. Normaly my System works on-grid. Do I understand it right, it works with the SH10RT in an emergency situation may be for a short time and Sungrow has possibly optimized the new inversters and recommends them for permamently off-grid, right? Have you any experience with an SH10RT and a generator? Thx for the answer and the Video.
@@johnescobar3199 Hi John, the generator integration definitely won't work for on-grid situations even with the new models. When the inverters are installed on-grid, they are programmed with the grid safety parameters. Ie. Australia A. In order for the inverter to work with a generator, the inverter needs to be programmed that it is being used in a micro grid situation, this allows the grid parameters to widen and work with generators.

How do you connect the generator to these inverters? Does the generator charge the battery or does it just bypass to supply the house loads?

Hi, Sungrow does not recommend the SH10RT for off-grid use with a generator but rather the SH15/20/25T inverters

Can I connect multiple sbr storage units in parallel?
Hi @tobi3563, Yes, you can connect multiple SBR stacks in parallel to achieve a higher capacity. Up to 100kWh total.
