    Klipsch are great with smoother and quieter amps, vintage transistor, Yamaha kit, tube amps etc....good with folk and vocal, but it's the 3050i's for me, the slightly smoother, more rounded sound is flattering to modern amps... especially sub $1k.
    Klipsch can take the enamel off your teeth with a $500 amp and a commercial rock recording

    3050i anyday with its balanced sound. The klipsch is painfully bright for my liking.

  • @Metallicgld12
    @Metallicgld12 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    The Acoustics 3050i is more precise -- like listening to high-definition audio. Klipsch 260f is a lil more obtrusive on the ear like it needs compression. Klipsch speakers are great but I'm leaning more toward the Acoustics 3050i, they have a more natural warmer sound. Don't like a lot of dark heavy muzzled bass in my front speakers, I want to hear a clear solid punchy bass coming from my sub. This guy is articulate and he sold me on both. I'll be purchasing two different sets.

    The Klipsch are definitely more dynamic and the Q's are more polite / restrained.

  • @Miskatonik
    @Miskatonik 5 ปีที่แล้ว +21

    Great comparison. To me those "old" Klipsch suffer from the same problem as always: they´re simply too bright and sound thin. In the movies you often get an illusion of more detail (voices, little sounds) due to elevated treble, but as soon as the music plays or certain deeper sounds come in (helicopter, explosion...) you instantly notice the lack of body in the sound. Obviously you have to put them together with a subwoofer, but even so I lean towards a more balanced speaker and would get the Q Acoustics. According to reviewers, however, newer generations of Klipsch are more natural and less bright (RP600M etc)

    • @HomeTheaterHobbyist
      @HomeTheaterHobbyist  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great comment! I agree, "lack of body" in the mid to low range is a great way to sum up how the Klipsch sounds in room compared to the Q.

    Really appreciate the objective review. You talked about the differences between them but didn't actually recommend one or the other. I'd love it if you could get a set of the Elac F6.2's and do another comparison with those. Would be very useful for people shopping for towers in this price range.
    For anyone else who reads this... one of the things he didn't talk about was how these blend with a subwoofer. I own a set of the 3050i's and run them with the port plugs in. Having the plugs in makes the speakers produce slightly less bass, but also seems to boost the midrange a little. In that configuration, paired to a good quality sub, and they sound unbelievably good. Makes me wish all speakers included port plugs to experiment with.

    • @jordansjournal3077
      @jordansjournal3077 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Emotiva has more of a live sound, similar to Klipsch, through its treble, especially. Because they use the ribbon tweeter technology, I feel they are really good at imaging.
      You will get a live feel like Klipsch, but less one directional. Better dispersion with some air in between. Emotiva are better than the Q Acoustic, in my view. Everyone has a different taste, though.

However, I have some reservations about them. Since they are horn and creating more of a spotlight sound, they may sound suboptimal depending where the listener is. My set up would be in a living room which is a split level with dining room and kitchen, so completely open area . Which speakers would be best to fill up the room and sound great regardless of where the listener is located? Also, main music to be played is rock/heavy metal. Thanks for watching! I'm not sure if you're looking for a 2 channel or multichannel amplifier so I'l make a few recommendations.
      For 2 channel I'll recommend the Cambridge Audio CXA61. I'm currently reviewing it's bigger brother the CXA81 and I'm impressed. The 61 has a little less power and lacks balanced XLR inputs/outputs but otherwise I think they're pretty much the same.
      For multichannel I recommend the Denon AVR-X2700H. It's very new i.e. it will be released at the end of the month. It supports pass through of all major HDR formats and 8K/60 on one of the HDMI inputs so you should be good to go with that for a while.
      I'll also recommend the Yamaha RX-A880 receiver because I like the Aventage line and it's build quality. This one lacks support for the HDR10+ pass through so if you have a TV (Samsung) that supports this format go for the Denon. Here's a link to a video where I talk about the differences between Denon and Aventage line. Not the exact models I'm recommending but it'll give you an idea: th-cam.com/video/Y-9eQUJZtyE/w-d-xo.html

      RX-A880: amzn.to/2N7FVa0

      No I haven’t. To some ears the klipsch can be a bit bright than they prefer so try the q acoustics if you can. It has a smoother sound so it won’t be as bright possibility reducing irritation.

    Which of these two do you think would preform better for someone who listens to death metal?
    I'm really looking for some great speakers to replace my 2.1 desktop set and i really like the look of the q acoustics so far, also the freq. range seems to be full enough to get some good heavy bass but also clear highs.
    Any thoughts or advice?

    • @HomeTheaterHobbyist

      Hmmm that’s a great question, I don’t listen to death metal but I think I’d pick the Klipsch. It has a little more clarity in the highs while still maintaining the bass. Obviously it depends on what you prefer but my preference would be the Klipsch. Let me know what you decide and how you like it

      I've been looking into the klipsch but i think it's a bit outside my budget... One klipsch speaker is more expensive than 2 of the Q acoustics.
      So i think i'll be choosing the Q acoustics and perhaps one day buy the subwoofer from the same series.
      But then another question if you dont mind; Is there any amp you would suggest for a 2.0 / 2.1 setup? I have to note that i am on a budget, i'm looking for an amp thats preferably not more than 200 euros. It doesnt need hdmi or anything fancy, just sound quality.

      When the nuts are unscrewed, the bare speaker wire connections are exposed on the terminals. Angled banana plugs can also be used in those holes as well but I just wanted to illustrate the use of bare speaker wire. Either one sounds great as long the connection is solid. 😁

The sales person was recommending RP 6000F considering my room dimension and condominium. My living room dimension is (16x18)sqft or (5x5.5)square meter including dining space. Effectively sitting Area might be 60-70% of it i.e. (16x10)sqft or (5x3) square meter. Could you share your feedback on selection? Will RP 8000F be Overkill for my room?

      For me I would go 6000f and get a good sub (like something from SVS or RSL or Hsu) it will handle the bass better than tower speakers.
