    • Nitto Ridge Grapplers ...
    In this video I give a 10,000 mile update on the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I compare the noise level to when they were new. And I show the tread depth measurements across the tread and get an estimate of tread life.

    Have you ever done the chalk test for finding your PSI? Would help with the cupping on the lugs.
    I'll be getting these tires next weekend but I'm going to be going to my camp all summer - rough gravel, chipped rock roads. Camp trail it self is soft black mud. I'm getting these because I spend A LOT of my time off road. I drive maybe 500-750km a month on pave and around 1500-2000km on gravel/dirt roads. I wonder how they'll hold up

    Is the balancing a known issue ? I’ve heard this a few times now on the RG.

      I don't know if it's an issue specific to the Ridge Grapplers or not. I think it may be more inherent to the more aggressive tread pattern. But overall I'm still happy with the tires.

    Did you have your tire size recalibrated? Or is the stock size in the pcm run fine, also what psi do you run at? Whatever is on the door?

    • @ScrufsGarage
      @ScrufsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I am running a Tazer Mini to recalibrate for the taller tires. I'm running around 32psi.

    I have an overland as well and I'm about to do a lift. Did you re-gear for the 35s, or just run a tazer or programmer of some kind?

    • @ScrufsGarage
      @ScrufsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm still running the stock 3.73 gears, and using a Tazer mini to recalibrate for the tire size change. The larger/heavier tires do have an impact on gas mileage, and it downshifts out of 8th on the hwy fairly frequently. But honestly, it still does rather well. I don't have any current plans to regear. Sure it would be nice, but I don't consider it a must-have.

      @@ScrufsGarage Thank you for the quick response! I was figuring on the gas mileage hit, but I was concerned about the gearing. Any issues getting up hills, or offroad?

    • @ScrufsGarage
      @ScrufsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AnotherStrangeCreation no issues at all. The 8 spd transmission just has so many gear options. If towing a load uphill, it’s definitely going to downshift and run at 4,500+ rpms , but that’s a product of the torque curve of the 3.6L. Peak torque is at 4,400 rpms. If you’re hardcore rock crawling then the lowest possible gear ratio is always beneficial. So it depends on your intended usage.

    I was wondering about the mileage and the downshifting. Did it seem to settle down and get better once the computer had time to adjust to the new tire size?

    • @ScrufsGarage
      @ScrufsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No real change to how it shifts or the gas mileage. But overall I haven’t found it to be an issue.

    You're running too much PSI
