  • After trying 5 sets of these tires with over 80k combined miles, I figured it was about time to share an honest review of the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Spoiler alert: I love them. These tires have gotten me through deserts, rain, snow and ice without issue, and I truly think they’re the best hybrid truck tire on the market right now!

I had nitto trail grapplers on my truck and they were fantastic tires. Lasted about 75k miles until I switched to the ridge grapplers. This video is spot on. Trail grapplers were super durable but pretty loud on the highway when traveling to work or trips to the coast. Now the ridge grappler is in a league of its own. Same aggressive look, fantastic durability but the biggest thing for me was the reduction in noise while driving on the highway. I will always buy nitto tires but the ridge grappler is by far my favorite tire.

Good review, Andrew. You put out great stuff. I love those tires. I had 35s on my F350 King Ranch, 80-90% rough-finished, hot Texas roads, with the remaining 10-20% high-speed, off-road sand and salt water shallows. I got about 70k miles on the first set with normal periodic rotations (replaced them because of the 'look' of the tread as they got close- likely could have got another 10-15k off them before road safety was an issue), and about 60k on the second set and still a half inch tread depth before a girl ran a red light and totalled my truck.
Replaced it with a RAM 2500, and most videos state I can go 37s with no suspension mod, and maybe a little cut of the fwd well on the front. Since the 37" Nitto RGs are actually 36.5", I'm thinking of trying them on my 2500.
Keep the good stuff coming out!

I've had the ridge grapplers for 3 years and they have been great. 25000 miles on them a they are wearing like iron. I tow a 9300 lb travel trailer and they are very stable. Never done any hard core off roading but they are very grippy in snow. Get some,, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I will definitely buy these tires again.

I have the Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my 2015 F-150 275 70R-18. Which is a 33” tire . It has 2 inch level with coil overs. I absolutely love these tires. I go off road a lot in Wayne National Forest in Southern Ohio. I have never had a problem getting through anything. Close to 10K miles and they look like new. Highly recommend them

I bought a set of 37s right when they came out for my F250. I drove a lot of highway miles and often tow heavy loads (well beyond what my truck is rated for). I now have 65k on them with lots of tread to go. They're still quiet, though a touch louder than the first half of life. I feel many people about them. I'm excited about the new Recon Grappler.

Another thing to mention is how light weight they are - 305/55/20s (33" tire) they're right around 50-51lbs which is 10-15lbs lighter than most other tires in the same size. Good for the smaller trucks to keep from killing fuel mileage and performance. Great videos, thanks for the review!

Great review into the Nittos and hybrids in general. I think this style of tire has changed the game in my opinion. I hope you get a chance to try the Coopers and I would love to see how you think they stack up to Nittos. I'm running both the Nittos and Coopers on two different vehicles right now and I'm leaning towards the Coopers.

What pressure do you run unloaded on pavement (normal driving) and when you air down for off road? I’m running NRG 35s on my 4th gen 2500 and like them so far (4k miles). I got the 12 ply F rated tires based on a recommendation from the boys at CJC ... might be overkill, but they are stout. I’ve been running 45 front 40 rear for normal driving which seemed to wear evenly with the chalk test. I haven’t tried airing down yet since I haven’t done much off-roading yet. Any recommendations?

My tremor came with duratracs from the factory and the jump was massive when I went to ridge grapps. The Goodyears were louder, had less grip overall and didn't look as good. I have put 10k on the duratracs and they were about half way done. My nittos still look brand new with 15k on them, they just handle the 1,050 lb ft of torque better.

She has enough low end torque and gets the job done...Its no Powerstroke but basically does everything the same at 80%. There is an upfront 10k savings from gas to diesel and there is way less maintenance. The only thing I miss is the exhaust brake when pulling...make sure you have good brakes on your trailers. I do tow, but not a ton, and I do occasionally stick 3,000 to 6,000 in the bed of gravel. When I input 35 x 12.5 x 20, the rating that pops up first is 125Q F2. If justdiesel says they are good tires then they are really good tires so I’m buying a set of nittos ridge grapplers.

I’ve got zero complaints which is more than I can say for a lot of other tires I’ve tried!

Ya dude I’ve had them 40000 miles and they really are an awesome tire. Pricey but totally worth it. I assume just front the tread wear I have about 20000 left. Great in snow, soft sand, dirt, street, quite and aggressive looking

These are the Yukon Spin Free hubs. Dynatrac also makes a killer setup too.

I only have 33,000 miles on my Ridge Grapplers (32”ers on a 2020 Tundra) and they are almost down to the tread wear marker and I am looking to buy new tires before winter sets in in Wyoming. I did pull a 3,500 lb trailer, with WD hitch, for almost 10,000 of those miles. I see folks talking of 60-70k miles. Did the 10k miles of trailer pulling wear my tires down that fast?

Probably. What’s your air pressure? Are you sure they’re E rated 10 ply?
