I put one of those reels on a 6' Lightning Rod (medium/fast) and I really enjoy casting everything 1/8oz and above . I too prefer lighter lures . I've been catching 3-5lb bass on weightless power swimmers and 3/16oz shad looking square bill crankbaits . For lighter lures than that I use a lighter power rod with a different reel but the Sharky3 is a favorite . Brakes on about half way and I only need a light thumb no matter the lure
Thanks for making this video. I got the sharky 3 because of light spool from your unboxing video. It casts nice but couldn't really test the dynamic brakes or light lures due to heavy winds.
It was over due on my end lol. Dad life is rough! But I think for a light spool reel, the brake is pretty good. More fishing needed but I think it's better than some of their older standard magnetic reels. Makes me wanna shove it on the Zephyr and test it lol
Sup Jimmy. My friend has a last king reel on an ugly stick rod med/heavy. But had a long time. Just got a diawa reel on sale $280 put on a heavy 7' st Croix? Rod for new frog rod. But has 3 different bps combos over time Loves them. Especially the ultralight. Wow Vince bass but what a cut! He used my shimano caius combo which has 7'3" ugly stick likes it. Nice perch, love catching them. He wants my bps combo but can't do it. Wow real nice bass🤙. Incase didn't get it on messenger, have a happy Thanksgiving. Hate holidays so say day before lol. Ty tc
Nice! Which reel did you get from Daiwa? For frogging a 7 ft heavy action is pretty standard, but you can get away with a MH as well. Key is fast tip action and if you can get a 7'6", that be better too, More leverage to set the hook. Especially if you are fishing super thick cover. it was a fun windy day, but glad my brother got that mondo! Happy Thanksgiving and as always, thanks for watching! Stay warm
@@rawrfishing happy Thanksgiving day lol. Idk what diawa it is, it's my friends, will find out. I couldn't afford it now lol. Surgeons are moving fast, appt is Tommorow for details but he already called another surgeon to remove pain. Pump and catheter in spine. So could be very soon. Have mixed feelings about it but no choice. Will have TH-cam lol. Enjoy your day👍
If kastking makes left and right contoured stardrag, it would be much better. As you can see the left handed reel is equipped with right handed stardrag. It’s weird in my opinion.
I believe you mentioned this before. Feel free to reach out to KastKing as they are pretty good with taking in suggestions! I have no problems with it. YOu can also swap parts as many enthusiasts would be using aftermarket stuff anyway. thx for watching and cheers!
It should, but my time with this reel was short. When they got rid of the reel, I essentially gave it away. At those weights, you can use just about any standard size BC reels. The braking in this reel isn't great. The advertised dynamic braking wasn't any good! But perhaps their new braking modules are better! Haven't tried those but should be better than this
@@rawrfishing thanks for the reply Jimmy! I appreciate it. I saw it today on Amazon for 50% off, so was interested in getting it. What do you think of piscifun brand? Have you even used any of their reels?
Nope and will never support piscifun. They stole my video using a product of theirs. They asked if they can have a copy for their platforms, I said if they buy it, sure.. They said no thx. They turned around and ripped my TH-cam video and uploaded on Amazon, TH-cam, Facebook and more! I have boycotted piscifun since then

Long cast spool is the next hot thing for the US market! Or reels around size 70! Would be cool to see 50 or 30 too..

Can it handle and throw 3/4oz lures with this reel? Im interested in it. I throw mostly 1/2 or 3/4oz lipless or square bills.
