Yep. Only a few of us knew the storyline when this game taught us about Thanos and the Inifinity War. The Avengers movie did a great job with Thanos and the gems.
@@ccutter2 The 90s was all about Wolverine and XMen, Spiderman, and some folks liked the Hulk or the Punisher. Nobody I knew even talked about Iron Man or Thor or Hawkeye, etc. Very few even talked about Captain America (except for maybe the arcades). Robert Downey Jr literally reimagined and recreated the character to a point where Marvel was finally able to get away from X-Men and Spiderman. (And he did a superb job, by the way).

This is imo still the Best CapCom SuperHero fighters 'till this day. There's just some thing about the physics, the Sprite work, the conjuntion of the previous and the tactic Game of the Gems.
I remember the first time I saw Proton Cannon - albeit in an EGM magazine and remember thinking it looked cool but the first time seeing it in the arcades was mindblowing. Never saw anything like that prior and this was just before the mid 90s anime wave started and the first dub of DBZ was still a year out.
God i remember watching my Dad play this on his computer when i was like 4, so much nostalgia just hit me. I even remember that there were cheat codes to play as like, Thanos, or some weird Doll character
13 characters but 3 were hidden, Dr. Doom, Thanos and Anita. I think 13 characters is enough since you can only pick one. You don't need 20 character with repetitive moves. This game was PERFECT as it is. PLUS you can use all the infinity gems, that was a pretty cool mechanic.
This brings back so many memories , I remember playing this on the brothers Sega Saturn 96/97 and for those Londoners in the UK Sega world (Trocadero ) and play to win was the place to play

This is one of my all time favorite fighting games ever. Absolute classic.
2 things:
1. I kinda liked when they called the Infinity Stones "Infinity Gems"
2. Iron Man got the best ending theme music of all time.
Agreed, they will always be gems. I hated that they called them "stones" in the movies. Such an unnecessary change.
I ain’t gonna lie, I feel like the Psylocke ending theme gives Iron Man’s ending theme a run for its money.
