Basic salaries in Greece are as low as 800euro a month, how can a person live on such a salary? Greece must give incentive to young people to stay in Greece and be part of growing the country, that entails a 'Living Wage'...

All talk Mitsotakis!!! You can talk all you want about fostering startups but the facts on the ground speak louder than your words. Look at the bureaucracy of doing business or getting anything done in Greece..... it's a literal nightmare of paperwork. The Greeks are some of the smartest people since time immortal but they are voting with their feet and moving all over the world to make the world a better more prosperous place. I would challenge Mitsotakis to anonymously contact any of his own embassies or consulates and see how many weeks before he actually gets a response.

Agreed. Even though he is not going to do any major changes, he still is one of our best prime minsters. That says more about the previous ones than about him…

It's not so much that it is him, it's the Greek people themselves who refuse to work systematically and cooperatively, and honestly. They with their ignorant egoes are their own worst enemies!

Absolutely agree with you. He's a sellout, selfish, arrogant narcissist of a person. He gained 41% at the latest elections because greeks wanted to give him a strong majority so that he would be able to change the bureaucracy, protect the borders and lower the taxes. Instead, he copied the democrats, became fully woke and passed the law for gay marriage... (Now this is what will save the Greek people!!!) All because he wanted to put it in his CV in order to gain a powerful position in Europe after he leaves his office as a prime minister. He's 100% traitor.

Greeks do continue leaving their beautiful country for speaking a better life abroad. It’s back to the 60s ,it’s not getting any better, rather it’s worsening. He is not a successful prime minister,he failed to bring quality jobs in Greece and there is an increasing number of Greeks living at the limit of poverty.Very incompetent as a leader.Really a pity for us.

Completely disagree, I left Greece 5 years ago and the only reason I am gonna come back is if he stays in government. As I left minimum salary was 500€ now it's over 800€ . If he manages to put it over 1000 as he promised, I ll be coming back.

@@alexandrosgkaintatzis8512 I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the cost of living has skyrocketed. Purchasing power is extremely low, second to last in Europe, with only Bulgaria beneath. True, I'm not denying that the pandemic, the war and inflation has not impacted all EU economies. Some countries still fare better than others though, and Greece is still at the bottom of the list. A slight increase in salary doesn't mean much if the cost of living is still disproportionally high. You can see for yourself on the Eurostat website if you search for GDP per capita in PPS. I'm just countering the "economic miracle" narrative peddled by the ruling party here.

@@Zoombeanie132 What I will see in the Eurostat list is that Greece was always second to last for the last 12 years. It's true though we got to last place in purchasing Power , we are below Bulgaria as well. Are you extremely certain it is because of the policies of Mitsotakis or because of the instant growth of Bulgaria joining the Eurozone that propels her forward? Or maybe both? Look man I am not an economist, maybe you are right , I am a simple man I see that the minimum income was significantly raised (far more than the other countries) and I am happy for that , maybe he could do more , I am just happy with the things he does . Let's agree to disagree on the matter.

@k.c.9766 Have you met him? Have you sat down and had a lengthy conversation with him about politics? Trust me, he in fact is the most genuine politician you will ever meet. He aches for Greece to do well. You forgot where Greece was in 2019 and how he has taken Greece towards a more positive future despite the fact that Greece was bankrupt and the Turks were trying all kinds of shenanigans while also immediately facing a virus outbreak. Despite all the problems he has dealt with he has still managed to take Greece out of bankruptcy to make Greece a very good investment prospect. Where you expecting instant success? Do you see him with a magic wand? And BTW, he has never sugar-coated anything. I'm sorry but some people are never pleased. Perhaps you prefer Tsipras back? Or maybe one of the other populists who constantly whine and criticise without actually offering any solutions? So let me ask you one final question, what would you have done differently as a PM in the last 5 years when facing all those challenges? And I'd like viable solutions not hair-brained schemes or flights of fancy please...
