@Shreyas K I adore RKS, he is awesome. But, I prefer Akkarai with TMK. There is something soothing about the way Violin sound blends with his voice. Maybe it is me, but I feel her bowing way is different and mimics the vocalist better.

It appears that the vocalist has tried to bring in the unpredictability like in Hindustani vocalists without disrupting the laya structure of Karnatik. Best of Luck to the vocalist Pundit ,& accompanying artists. Late Pt BMK use to take the accompanying artists for a ride with his unpredictable singing which used to appear100% shashtreeya. Overlook TMK’s murky political ideology just like we never bothered about Balamurali & Mali’s Leelas. I enjoyed this slow paced piece quite in contrast to fast recitals of other Vidwans. Refreshing change to my mind.

That's correct. It's called Carnatic music. A quick way to identify if it is Hindustani (Indian classical music practiced in the North & Central India) or Carnatic, just by looking at the artists on stage is to see what instruments the accompanying artists are playing. If it is violin and mridangam (horizontal drum), then it is Carnatic music. If they are accompanying with a Harmonium & Tabla (pair of drums), it will most likely be Hindustani music.
Hes a carnatic singer n in carnatic concerts he shd adhere to that rules. In fact every walks of life while dealing with public one has to follow it strictly. Elsewhere no one has any reservation on him.its a fashion to criticise anything related to hindus without knowing or refuse to know.

TMK's sense of rhythm is simply magical, especially when rendering kalpanaswarams.
A violinist should also expect unexpected in a concert. ..TMK has unexpected transformations..very beautiful..
And thanks to TMK for giving the violinist so much time and freedom. Subhalakshmi was playing like a great veteran.

It is called day a Udaya Ravi chandrica in Carnatic,
looks like Shri TMK surprised himself when he sang the kalpanaswaram at 18:24 (reaction at 18:30)!
He sang 'Dha Ni Sa' whereas the arohanam is Sa Re Ga Ma Dha Sa. He realized it and immediately corrects it in the second repetition.
It looks like he took some phrases from khamaas
Arohanam is Sa Ri Ga Ma Ni Dha Sa and avarohanam is Sa Ni Dha Ma Ga Ri Sa

Krisna and Subha are moon rakers. All raga which carry Chandra brand are top of line raga's. Ali akhabar's Chandra nadan scores highest.
