Jaco had 3 sons . Felix twin brother plays drums I believe. Plus he has a son and a daughter from his first marriage.

the great thing about this that Felix is influenced but not *imitating* - he's a natural in his own right. at the same time, it will never not be an absolute tragedy that Jaco isn't here with us to see what a great player his son is

@@49mrbassman He is. They are also the descendants of John Francis Pastorius (who Jaco is named after), who founded Germantown, PA, and was one of the first to speak out against slavery in this country.
Great seeing a young drummer knockin it out the park. Uses every piece of the kit in a very tastey way, very musical. Great band sweet seeing Jaco’s son Felix following a master.
Oh yes! I know right he's so artistic and wonderful. Very enjoyable to listen to and watch. He even plays things outside of the drumset sometimes like the metal pole there lol

Absolutely fantastic, I remember feeling when he was young I work with his father 82,83 when he was playing with word of mouth, Delmar,Neech and Gil, carrying the Bass with no case hopping in a cab to go to 7th avenue South with the cord and that little brown octivider effect. Those were the days, who loves you, man?

I saw Felix Live yesterday Evening. His Comping Style really blew my mind. They did a version of Continuum where he played a log solo intro that almost made me cry. He is so fantastic!

Yes! Fusion at its best fusioness. The tuning of the drums the precision of his playing is impeccable. The sophisticated grooves achieved between the bass and drums are no joke. I like the effects choices by Felix, especially on his solo.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Such a great way of honoring and continuing the legacy of the greats who came before them with the creativity of these original compositions shining through in the awesome display of musical skill and talent of this live performance (and the great work you’re doing capturing it).
I'd say the work you're doing is reminiscent of the “Live in New York City” series from the 80’s that Jaco did with Hiram Bullock and Kenwood Denard where someone in attendance had the good sense to at least make an audio recording and in doing so capture the greatness of those phenomenal moments that would've otherwise been lost in time and that most of us (other than those who were lucky enough to be there) would've never known of at all. Now you’re giving us a better idea of what it must’ve been like to be there because just imagine if we had full video of that like you’re doing here with this.
I know firsthand from having played in bands that great moments of live performance too often seem to defy being captured (i.e:"best take ever but forgot to push the record button"). So, I commend you Mama Loula for your effort and valuable work in capturing, preserving and sharing these great moments of live improv style music for all of us to enjoy. Thank you!

I bumped into him at a Billy strings concert in Asheville, check out his videos with Jeff Sipe . One of my favorite concerts ever was Jeff Coffin with Felix and Sipe. Find the live album from that tour , 2011 maybe Kofi Burbridge , Bill Fanning were the other players

I didn’t know my favorite bass player of all time had a son! He is probably better than his father. To me Jaco is the bestest man to ever pick up a bass.
