      What bones specifically do you recommend? I was waiting the entire video for suggestions on depending on breed big and small. Eating habits considered. I have a malinois that is voracious. Not aggressive. Just eats way too fast and swallows huge chunks. Also have a pug with tiny teeth that look like broken pieces of rice and no canines lol.

      Ultimate Pet Nutrition My Mom gave my American Staffordshire Bull Terrier a pork bone. He ate almost the entire bone. I read that pork bones can splinter and is NOT recommended for aggressive chewers like my dog. I’M REALLY WORRIED now. Should call my veterinarian?

    In the wild a dog will eat bones. The dog's system was made for it (raw bones).

      The Stranger actually they’ll gnaw the meat off, and leave the larger bones behind. Most modern predators can’t actually eat a whole cow.

      @@xmobile. 2-3 week didn't that dog die due to eating spoiled meat?

    • @xmobile.
      @xmobile. 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@paulbaka4388 Nope, he's still alive and well.
      We've given him (human hunted) deer legs since and he always chews on them for days, and weeks when it's just mostly the bone left. It's never been during summer in super hot heat, but they've been out in 60 degree fall weather and he still eats them and is fine. I always heard that animals carry different bacteria in their digestive system that allows them to eat rotten meat. I wouldn't run with that for all dogs though, i would consult someone that knows the science on that or do some thorough research. But yeah, Ammo the American Boxer has also eaten a large amount of deer pellets/poo along the years as well.

      I cured many skin conditions for pennies with bacon fat lots of it and more.

    I found my dog back in 2017 she was abandoned on top of a mountain in the winter time. And I didn't really know anything about any of this. A few months later in the Autumn of the following year my friend and I were butchering a buck and we gave her the whole leg no meat on it it was the femur and part of the other part of the bone I forget the names of them that go out of the hoof I didn't think nothing about it I was ignorant. She was outside chewing on this thing and she was in bone heaven a few hours later I came back to Abby and the bone was gone and I thought someone took it through it away. The next day she got sick not throwing up but she had massive bowel movements because it was way too much bone and her bowel movement was dark gray and color and she's perfectly healthy now but that was an example of a raw bone but in excess like it was too much and I know better now. The other blunder that I was doing was my friend that I was butchering the book also likes to make baby back ribs I'd always give her a bone that was cooked slow cooked but it was still cooked and I thought that was perfectly fine and she never had an incident and she loves those bones but now it's like I can't do it. B
    This video was awesome and I appreciate the information.

    Sooo many people think Bully sticks are good for dogs.My dog almost died from one of those.A piece of brittle bone went sideways down his throat and I had to stick my hand down his throat and break the bone and pull it out.I never purchased them again

    • @shayrose7705
      @shayrose7705 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joseph DiCristofano bully sticks are absolutely amazing for dogs! If your dog was able to get a brittle piece off you didn’t purchase from a good brand. The only danger to bully sticks ( as with any chew ) is the last 1-2 inches the dog can swallow but there are many bully stick holders that prevent that from happening.

    I just watched a video of a dude who smashed a raw bone and a cooked bone with a sledgehammer..... They did the same thing and the cooked one was softer on the inside.
    Just some random guy on TH-cam was more informing than "professionals" simply by doing an easy experiment and not repeating the same bs people heard in, what seems to be, very rare cases when you look at the amount of dogs in the world. Plus, lets not act like people aren't extremely lazy and like they completely sterilize everywhere a raw bone has been, far more health issues for everyone involved.

    Actually, the way to train fight dogs is by presenting them raw meats and raw bones, so they get a taste for blood. If they get a single taste of blood during the dog fight, it unleashes that natural instinct to get more of that sweet reward. So, no… it isn’t about the animal getting a disease, it’s about it becoming a blood lusting beast.

    We bought a raw buffalo bone for our dog. The thing is that it stinks....a LOT. So we dried it in the sun but a couple days later, it rained, and then it was sunny again. So we kept the process going. We knew crows were pecking on it but we didn't interfere as there were still a lot of fat and tendons on it and thought the crows would peck off that waste. Today however, we burnt it in coconut husk so that the remainder of the bad fat and bacterial growth on it will die. We just realised this was what we should've done since day 1 (We're noobs in this.... Jenny is our first dog.). Are we on the right track in the making of a bone?
