Hey Heather! I was just thinking I wish it didn't have wool! I've always loved how Scarfie looks! 😍💙 I would have bought the mandala to hold 2 together and make a marled blanket like Carrie Penny does. Granny ghosts would be awesome! 👻
I would by Scarfie on clearance. I have two colors in my stash. One is purple other I don't remember. It's been aging for a long time. It is one of my fave yarns also. Wish they had more colors.
I bought yarn at Meijer in the late 70's. I don't remember how many aisles of yarn they had - I remember the colors. The bright solids must had been Red Heart, but my favorite was a variegated earthy jewel tones - I'd like to have something in those colors again. Meijer (Thrifty Acres) was started in Grand Rapids in 1934. His sons turned it into a corporation under which the Meijer stores fall, as well as Fresh Thyme grocery stores (more organics there than the Meijer stores), and several more. They'll never get a house brand of yarn - it's not a popular seller since yarn is found everywhere else. (Live long enough and you remember all this crap!)
I like the glow dice idea. That would look super cute. I hope you have enough to manage it. On a separate note, I have 5 full skeins of Scarfie in Black/Taupe, which I purchased maybe 3 years ago from Lion Brand when they were doing a colourway clearance sale. I'm sure it must have been like a 5 for $15 or $20 or some sort of really good bundle deal. I haven't been able to figure out yet what I want to make with them yet. I don't think I have enough yardage for a sweater, but maybe I'm wrong. I recently had an idea to somehow pair it with my new Caron Anniversary cake in the Birch Bark colorway to incorporate more neutral shades. If you happen to have that colorway of Scarfie, please let me know and either convince me it could work or talk me into a better idea. 😀
Just to clarify I was thinking the anniversary cake + scarfie would be a different project, like a blanket, not a sweater, but I'm still just brainstorming here.

That glow yarn would look really nice if you made your striped hat with black and glow yarn.

Meijer’s are in Minnesota and Wisconsin. I like the store and I am in Ohio. I can get yarn there but my Walmart has next to nothing.
