When I was little most of the rides at Universal terrified me, with this being the exception. When you are a scared little kid, nothing made you braver than that theme song.
Nice enough job on the camera work, but I can see now why some people thought this show was a bit cheesy (and yes it is lip-synced except for the opening lines.) I should know; I was a part of this show when I worked at Universal from 11/90-3/93, playing both Spengler (but not in this clip) and in the later version, Walter Peck the EPA guy. I can make out the identities of three of the five cast members (who shall remain nameless) and it sure was nice to revisit them, in a manner of speaking.

Sorry, Roboprop, couldn't tell ya who provided the proton packs - I just don't know - but yes, they were built for the show, complete with blinking lights as if they were the real deal, "movie" or "real" life, whichever one prefers.

I can't really recognize the background music that was being played when the hostess was talking to the audience in the beginning. My three favorite parts in this video were when the Ghostbusters all showed up and blasted away all those ghosts, when the Ghostbusters defeated Gozer in the form of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and also the finale where everyone sang along to the song known as, "GHOSTBUSTERS"!

I wish the people who currently runs the Universal Studios Florida park had still kept the Ghostbusters Spooktacular pre-show/stage show around to this day instead of having it replaced by Twister...Ride it Out and then later by Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon. Why did they have to replace the good stuff? That's the kind of theme park attractions that today's generations should be enjoying when they and their families go to Universal Studios. They have absolutely no idea what they are missing out on. If they had still kept the Ghostbusters Spooktacular pre-show/stage show around nowadays, they probably would've hired the best look-alikes who resembles Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson, had the costumes, the ecto-1 car and the Ghostbusters' firehouse HQ (headquarters) remade and rebuilt to look movie-accurate and probably would've used the actual instrumental version of the theme song at 0:05-5:39-11:02( th-cam.com/video/ceGTN1_vWZY/w-d-xo.html ), which is what they should've done before it was first opened at Universal Studios Florida in 1990.
Soon im going to draw some Storyboards of a newer verson of Ghostbusters but guess what i can conbine the first and the second verson youll see im writing the story now.
because they thought "oh, lets try something new" and replaced it w/ twister.. ive been to that ride last year and it wasn't even that good!the only part of the twister ride i was freaked out is when theres like this roof over our heads and they made this loud noise and thought that the roof was gonna collapse on us. so ok, i admit its ok, but it doesn't have that excitement or makes have like the chills or something. so... ghostbusters spooktacular is still #1!
Where was this show located at within the park? The current Terminator show area? I'm sure I saw it as a child, but don't really have any recollection of it. I do remember seeing the Ghostbusters/Beetlejuice battle in the streets of New York, but not this show... I miss having the Ghostbusters in the park =(
Don't worry. It's not going to happen, probably due to the reboot flopping at the box office. Now I expect Sony to cancel Ghostbusters plans eventually. However, director Paul Feig said recently that he still wants to do a sequel, but the determination to whether or not it's going to happen is out of his hands.

In honor of the 25th anniversary of Ghostbusters, they should have brought back this to Universal Studios.

Twister is there now, but the old facade is still there, they just don't have the Ghostbustwers sign out front like they used to.

I saw it in August of 92 it had Lewis Tulley interupted by Walter Peck turning off the Containment Unit
They should do this as a So Random sketch on the Disney Channel TV Series Sonny with a Chance.

I actually prefer this one over the newer one I just viewed. The newer one seemed so freakin' cheesy and this one here is just Way Better. :D
