I really miss this show 😭 I hope James Cameron and Universal release a Blu-ray 3D version of the show because now the "third" chapter in James Cameron's Terminator series is lost forever in the format that it was meant to be experienced in. We need a Blu-ray 3D release of this ASAP
I've been saying the same thing for years. They should take the footage that was shot, clean it up, add new VFX, get a blue colour grade on it, and release it as a short film. They could film additional Cyberdyne scenes to attach to the start in order to recreate the live show and just use de-aging technology or Deepfake on the actors for the close ups. It would also be a good chance to explain why the Time Machine can transport things like clothes and weapons now by saying that it's a more advanced version. Let's face it, everyone was expecting the third film to be set in the post-apocalyptic future and this half delivered on that promise. I'd 100% pay full price for it, even if it was just 20-30 minutes long, becasue this is the last time James Cameron ever directed a Terminator film with actual cast members.
@@username4441 he's involved in the new Terminator film as producer and writer. It's a direct sequel to T2. And he's also doing the blue smurf films sequel.
I lived at LA only 2 years from Korea, and saw this at 2003 or 2004 when i was only 9, 10 years old. It was when Universal Hollywood was advertising Return of the Mummy ride like hell in TVs and magazines cause it was brand new ride. Of course it was fun, but in my memories those glasses wearing shows ( Terminator, Back to the future, Shrek 4D ) was so scary and shocking for younger myself. It looked so real and not only just watching, the stage and interaction like T2 + riding a actual movie car Back to the future + all that water and wind and shaking and spiders like Shrek 4D was total new experience back then. I came back to Korea at 2005 and in my 30s now with 20 years passed, I still can remember the atmosphere and mood of Universal Studio. Thank you
Even though it's only short and it messes with continuity, T2 3D will always be my 3rd favourite film in the series. It felt more like a true terminator movie than any of the official sequels that followed it. I hope what ever they replace it with is amazing and not another Fast & Furious style let down.
In Orlando, its replaced not by Minions, but by a Bourne Stunt Show, coming soon (like as soon as they can gather people in a theater soon, covid probably delayed it)
WOW. That final bow gave me chills. Didn't even realize there were actors/actresses doubling characters. The illusion was perfect on stage! I'll always regret not having experienced this ride at least once in my life as a massive James Cameron and T2 fan. Best 4D ride ever made!
I'm not sure they were doubling, they may alternate per show or per day. The ones who weren't in this one were probably just there as part of the send off.
Im gutted this has closed down, Too many screen rides now!! I miss old Universal, Jaws, Earthquake, etc etc but I guess we need to move with the times, How cool would it have been for Linda Hamilton & Edward Furlong to do this last one
Don't forget about Arnold Schwarzenegger and Robert Patrick :). That would be awesome, that at the end of the show you realize you have been watching the real actors perform. People would go nuts!
Family Channel definitely. Screen rides are cheap and easy for them. We should have thst stuff locally. Rides like Earthquake & Jaws are what these parks must be made of.
When those terminators starting firing blanks it scared the hell out of me when I was little, but right when that motorcycle showed up and the T-800 shot the T-1000 I got goosebumps all over me. I’d pay so much money just to relive that one more time.
Yeah I wish my family took me to see this the last time I went to universal… I can’t remember what year I was in 1/2 grade so maybe close to 1999. I bet they thought it was too violent for us kids 🙄🖕 thanks a lot grandma
The 3D in this ride was INSANE! Absolutely blew my mind as a kid! Also, once I went on the ride and when Terminator was supposed to drive back into the screen his bike broke down and we all had to leave! 🤣🤣
Watching the cast get emotional at the end really got to me, especially the blonde lady playing the Cyberdyne rep. She's basically the biggest part of the whole thing and is the glue that kind of holds it together, and I get the feeling she loved doing it just from watching this.
I love how The Terminator has a sense of humor in this. 18:55 John: "GO RIGHT! RIGHT! Oh no, GO LEFT! RIGHT! LEFT! NO, GO RIGHT! RIGHT! GO RIGHT!" Terminator: "John, please stop helping." 23:03 John: "Friend of yours?" Terminator: "He was my college roommate."
Saw it in Hollywood, Labor day weekend 2004. I was in a group of about 20 and we all decided to see it together. I loved how regardless of where you are sitting, the 3D effects are right in front of your face. One of my friends jumped out of his seat when the T1000's head came out in the beginning.
ourselves doesn’t explain common without any context of what specific experiences question or something like that trying explaining appropriate terminology with some kind into it is not helpful in understanding how you are going through these experiences to understand the situation humans experiences trying and how we are trying to help them to get better understanding of their feelings especially when we have to deal through them through the situation trauma experiences that they understood exactly and then you can tell them to get it’s explained deep into your life and you can see what
I remember when this opened in 1996! It had one hell of a run! I mean it outlasted Back to the Future, Jaws, King Kong, and Earthquake. Never forgotten!
It's sad that an amazing 3D show like this going away. I consider it the best made at the Universal Parks. And I was lucky to check it out at the one in Hollywood before that went in 2012.
FanimationXV i was able to go on terminator in orlando, my family bought me there in 2013 so we stopped going to disney, right now im glad i was so happy that i saw terminator, i will miss this ride deeply:(
Did not realize that they closed this down until I reserved my Universal trip for June. I was lucky to have caught this in my past visits. The emotions from the cast member. That is called love and dedication on what they did on a steller performance.
I distinctly remember the part where Arnold used the metallic-hover-bot-turned-frisbee against the hostile T-800, and how the POV switches to an above shot to show the skull head fly towards you. Still as terrifying as when I first saw it as a kid in 1998; even without 3D
Thank you for preserving this on film! My father and I went to Universal in 2004, and the Terminator attraction was our favorite. We must have gone in at least 6 times during our stay. It’s nice to see the cast of the show take a bow after all these years.
@@vwiesner1 You can't say that as there's a lot of work gone into that and it is really good, a lot of people enjoy it. I'd like to see you do a better show if you think it sucks.
I remember seeing this show at least three times when I went to Universal in high school, that's how much I loved it. I thought it was so cool that they spent this much time into presenting Cyberdyne and Skynet as this force for good and reliability, like it was giving us a glimpse into what people within the fictional world of the series saw the company as. Very cool for lore and world-building stuff.
I was fortunate to visit Cyberdyne Systems in July 2015 and see the show twice. The interaction of live to video and back was seamless. It was a really great show, with an excellent gift shop at the end! I still have the endoskeleton mug they sold there. I had no idea they 'd closed it until I literally stumbled across this video. Looks like they still have it in operation in Universal Studios, Japan.
On my first trip to Orlando, this was the first attraction my family checked out and words can't describe how much it blew us away. It was the bar for the rest of our trip and not many things surpassed it.
With skynet no more, Sarah and her son John Conner can finally live I peaceful life with a bright future ahead of them. Thank you for everything T-800 and farewell:)
Someone just reminded me that this closed, I had completely forgotten. I was never a fan of the Terminator series, mainly because this show scared me as a child. However, I grew up to not only appreciate the show but to also love it. It was an amazing practical effects show with hands down the best 3D visual effects I have, to this day, ever seen. They were cheesy at times and had dated 3D animation, but the effect was so incredible it really did not matter (and it's something you will never get to experience again, as video can never do it justice). To get a glimpse of it though, just look at the final 3D scene. The creature, even without the glasses, looks like he's popping out of that screen. That's incredible. This was such a fun send off to the show and I'm glad they even let people stand in the back. Too awesome. I'm also glad that my mother suggested I go watch the show during our last trip while she sat down to take a break, as it was the final show of that day. Right after we left Florida, they announced it was closing and I wouldn't get that chance again. Thanks for the video. Wanted to relive the memory.
Seeing this hit me in the heart, I never knew T2-3D ended until now, I was there when it was new in the 90's and seeing it was one of the best days of my young life! Saw it in '98 and went at least 5 times in that one trip, finally after 18 years, I got to go back to Universal and headed back over there, it was my (unbeknownst to me at the time) final visit in 2016. This is truly the end of an era, seeing the actors assembling on stage one last time for one last send-off really made it real, it's over. But I have some consolation in seeing that the last showing was a blast & that was a great audience. If anyone from Universal Studios Florida who worked on this attraction over the years is reading this: thanks for the memories, you're part of my life. Love and peace from England! :'D
Look at the crap we are getting now with TERMINATOR DARK FATE ...watch out for the female lesbian LGBT-1000. This world and Hollywood have lost their minds.
In the '90s, they sold Cyberdyne polo shirts. I wore it to work one day and my boss asked about Cyberdyne thinking I had worked there. I told him that they did advanced robotics and AI. I kept describing the place until he told me that such things don't exist. Then I told him it was from the Terminator films. We had a good laugh over it.
I went to universal studies shortly after the Terminator 2 3D attraction opened. As a HUGE Terminator fan it was the first thing I went to see. I loved it, even though some of it was a little cheesy. The Attraction was more 4D than 3D. The rumbling seats and the lightly sprayed water simulating flying debris was really amazing. I want to thank you for filming the show allowing me to relive the experience again. I'm really surprised by how much of it i had forgotten. Again, thank you.
This and the Back to the Future Ride were always highlights of my Universal Studios visits as a kid. If there’s any consolation, I can relive those memories thanks to TH-cam. ❤️
I never made it to Universal in time to experience this (first visit was in 2021), so thank you so very much for uploading it here. It's like I'm there!
I will never understand why they got rid of this. It was like a money spout they turned off. Every single time there was a line a mile long. The ride, no matter how long it was around and how old they say it got, there was always a huge line of people. Every single time and that is impressive for a movie that came out in 1991
From the bottom of my heart I will miss this show. I saw it for the first time with my father over ten years ago, and I would have never explored the world of Terminator without seeing it. Universal Studios is getting lazy in their presentation: As beautiful and streamlined as they are, they're beginning to suffer from "Movie in a Box" syndrome. Of which I mean coping out using live actors to bring screen and practical special effects and instead just putting guests in a moving seat that moves past scenery and 3D screens. I started to notice it in 2015: Spider-Man, TRANSFORMERS, The Forbidden Journey, Minions, and then the closing of Twister in place of a 3D Jimmy Fallon Ride and of course the new (and underwhelming) FAST and FURIOUS. All of these rides rely on more screen than tangeable effects. Terminator was that hidden gem in the park where you got everything: Live actors, animatronics, immersion, 3D...all branched from one into another without needing to change rooms. Even DISASTER held a place in my heart because you interacted with people and it touched on movie magic that makes Universal have such nostaligic value. I'm not knocking the 3D box rides, as they're undoubtedly top of their class. I just hope Universal doesn't lose sight of the value that was Terminator. T2 is a classic, and I hope what comes in the future harkens back to previous movies to create that nostalgia with modern technology, instead of throwing together whatever is trending onto a 3D screan and automated vehicle.
I have seen it in 2003, back when i was a 12 year old boy with my father we went to Florida for a holiday. I rember asking him if it was the real Arnold on the bike, he just smiled and said yes. :)
Well, here 4DX theaters are becoming increasingly common, so I don't see the point of traveling that far, plus pay for an expensive theme park ticket, and long lines just to have a similar experience. And now even my home LG TV gives you better and brighter 3d images that those murky and dark images that rides like transformers and Krusty's have.
I was really sad to see disaster, twister, and now terminator go cause those were freaking awesome to see and the fast and furious ride is terrible even though the line is cool the rest of it just felt like a disappointment like the actual ride itself felt really short
This ride was absolutely amazing. I first rode it back in 2007 when I was on vacation with my family. T2 is my favorite Terminator movie and when I got to experience this magic at Universal Studios, it was better then I could ever imagine. One of my favorite rides at the park and I still cannot believe they got rid of it. At least I have my memories and I can always look back at the time I got my own Terminator experience.
Man, Terminator 2 is one of my favourite films (I used to watch it all the time with my Dad) and I was lucky enough as a kid to be taken to the theme parks in Florida and this was an absolute highlight. Saw it a few times and it really blew me away. It was so well presented and the live actors were always fantastic. One of my happiest memories. I remember one time there was a guy who was so into it, he was saying things like "Skynet is evil, we must destroy it" under his breath to himself. He was so amped up, but also kind of an oddball. When we went into the auditorium my mum almost end up sat next to him so we quickly dived to a different row.
We went to Florida in 1996 and saw this. I remember all this but also remember the motorbike coming out into the audience and driving through the seats as we were sat in the gap.... Was amazing, but I guess was changed for safety reasons.
Was lucky to have experienced it back in 2009 when I was there. It made me feel like a kid again back in 1991. It was such a special experience! All good things come to an end. 🙁
So sad they closed this ride...the effects and cast members where so cool an made it such an awesome ride!! I hope they are all well and universal should bring this ride back 😎😎😎😎👍🏻
Back in the day, this attraction was amazing! The technology at the time was cutting edge. The seamless transition between the live actors and video-animatronics was fantastic. Of course, that 3D back then was cool as well. Unfortunately, time changed everything. 3D technology has advanced so much since then, and you could tell in the ride today. But that didn’t stop my excitement to experience it one last time when we visited several years ago. BTW, a bit of trivia: I lived in Orlando more than two decades ago. One of the actors who portrayed the Terminator was once a member of the group *NSYNC. He chose not to continue with the group, feeling that the group would go nowhere. That was the opening that allowed Lance Bass to join the group. Lance was my boss’ nephew, and he himself told me what had happened. Back then, the group was just starting. He actually accompanied me on my first visit to Universal Studios, which was cool, because we could enter the attractions as VIP guests. Going to miss it, but at least I got to go one last time.
Gamer A. I actually flew down from New York to ride DC one last time. Even in the 95° humid Florida weather. Worth it! I'm Pissed universal didn't auction the ride to another park. Instead they just scrapped it.
Mike12mt the reason why they didn’t auction it is because the track had rust and stress fractures. It would have to be totally rebuilt just like the hulk to be used again.
I'm what you're talking about. My brother and I went to ride Dragon Challenge one last time but the line was so ridiculously long, it expanded outside of Hogsmead.
When i was young and did this show, i was too young to see the first 2 movies so I had no idea what was happening in the show but still thought it was cool. Nowadays T2 is my favorite movie of all time and i would kill to experience this show again
I remember reading that opening day of Hogsmead actually had the line to enter the land go the long way around Islands of Adventure and at one point even used the extended queue of Spiderman to hold onto people.
Such an amazing ride! Saw the show so many times at every visit to Universal, the first time I saw it it blew me away! Great video from start of show to end!
I think they should’ve updated this instead of closing it completely. I think they should’ve made it a simulation ride, and make it where you’re transported into the Judgement Day future and you get to shoot the Terminator cyborgs. And along the way Arnold, Sarah and John help you out throughout the ride. Almost like the Back to the Future ride combined with the Buzz Lightyear and Harry Potter ride.
They’re making a Terminator rebooted sequel set after T2 with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton returning. He’ll be back! (Edit: After Dark Fate release) Never mind....
I remember when I was 6 or 7 being here with my dad and sister. I was so freaked out during the opening part during the entire thing, and when the line “YOU HAVE FIVE MINUTES TO EXIT THE BUILDING” was spoken, I THOUGHT THEY WERE BEING FOR REAL AND I FORCED MY DAD TO LEAVE THE BUILDING WITH ME CAUSE I WAS FREAKING OUT CAUSE I THOUGHT THE BUILDING WOULD EXPLODE OR SM. Yes I left my sister there lol
I was at Universal in 2016. I didn’t get a chance to go on the T2 ride. I thought “Well it’s been here for this long, it’s not going to go anywhere. I’ll be able to go on it if I ever get back to Universal.” I was wrong. Guess I’ll have to wait until we have time travel, and I can be sent back naked to go on the ride.
Dylan Lewis i was able to ride this for a long time i think since 2013, i was really glad that we always ended our day with the terminator, now it wont be the same
Now, there're no rides in 'Hollywood'......... You have to walk all the way back to ET or The Simpsons. For such a big space, I'm surprised it's so empty. Super Nintendo needs to open quick!
tf are u talking about Jurassic and Mummy are still there. Not to mention the rollercoaster at Hogwarts or w/e, plus the other half-sim-half-ride harry potter ride
I saw this a couple of times in 1999. This, by far, was one of the BEST 3D "rides" I've ever seen or "been in" in my entire life. Especially when that "spider" reaches out and touches you in the middle of your eyeball!
this show was truly my top favorite at universal studios (hollywood). I'm 24 now and I'm just sad thinking about how I may never see this in person again. At least florida had a few more years! I'm sure that I was 12 or 13 the last time I saw it, but I think that my earlier years were when I thoroughly enjoyed it and watched with so much amazement
I remember seeing the same show at Universal Hollywood when I was 14 then a few more times after that. Amazing show as always, ICING ON THE CAKE to see this cast say farewell on the last showing! Awesome!!

Cameron is too busy making stupid blue teletubbie men on flying lizard movies.
The first one was fine maybe even second one would be nice but after that I would have to agree with you.

It was minions...
When i was a kid i legit thought they had the original movie actors there 🤣
I was too young to remember when I saw this ride.
I saw this way back in the day. I can’t remember what year but the Jaws ride was still operational. So was Twister. I will miss them all.
They did a fantastic job.
Omg that would have been incredible!! 😩
Family Channel definitely. Screen rides are cheap and easy for them. We should have thst stuff locally. Rides like Earthquake & Jaws are what these parks must be made of.
Earthquake and tornado were good but Jaws had some problems

When those terminators starting firing blanks it scared the hell out of me when I was little, but right when that motorcycle showed up and the T-800 shot the T-1000 I got goosebumps all over me. I’d pay so much money just to relive that one more time.

I tried to fall to the floor when I was a kid and that part happened. I thought it was all real.
Yeah I wish my family took me to see this the last time I went to universal… I can’t remember what year I was in 1/2 grade so maybe close to 1999. I bet they thought it was too violent for us kids 🙄🖕 thanks a lot grandma
Went on this in 97 when I was 12, it blew my mind! Loved it so much and still love Terminator!
I went in 97 too! I was 11!!
Time to bring this back to Universal studios. There is a new generation that needs to see this fantastic show...not just on youtube

John: "GO RIGHT! RIGHT! Oh no, GO LEFT! RIGHT! LEFT! NO, GO RIGHT! RIGHT! GO RIGHT!"
Terminator: "John, please stop helping."

Terminator: "He was my college roommate."
Thank you for preserving this show. After the awful Dark Fate movie, this attraction was truly T-3.
Saw it in Hollywood, Labor day weekend 2004. I was in a group of about 20 and we all decided to see it together. I loved how regardless of where you are sitting, the 3D effects are right in front of your face. One of my friends jumped out of his seat when the T1000's head came out in the beginning.

I remember when this opened in 1996! It had one hell of a run! I mean it outlasted Back to the Future, Jaws, King Kong, and Earthquake. Never forgotten!

I came from Australia to see it in December 2013. I had wanted to see it since it came out in 1996. It was such an incredible experience.
It's sad that an amazing 3D show like this going away. I consider it the best made at the Universal Parks.
And I was lucky to check it out at the one in Hollywood before that went in 2012.

Alright Universal. You wanna make more simulator / show rides? THIS IS HOW YOU MAKE A SIMULATOR / SHOW RIDE!!!
This attraction was the best. The audience always got into it. Almost cult-like.
1995 technology was pretty amazing wasn't it. I remember seeing this for the first time in December 1997.
Did not realize that they closed this down until I reserved my Universal trip for June. I was lucky to have caught this in my past visits. The emotions from the cast member. That is called love and dedication on what they did on a steller performance.
I saw this once as a kid in the 90s and is a core memory of mine.
The huge robots scared me as a kid. I was expecting them to start walking around the crowd.
I distinctly remember the part where Arnold used the metallic-hover-bot-turned-frisbee against the hostile T-800, and how the POV switches to an above shot to show the skull head fly towards you. Still as terrifying as when I first saw it as a kid in 1998; even without 3D
4:50 Originally it was Shaq that had a cybernetic contact in his eye to help him make the free throws. Man it's been awhile since I've seen that.
YES!
It was Shaq?!
Yes! The joke is not good with soccer! I saw this when the ride was new and everyone laughed as soon as Shaq appeared with the contact!
Shaq is still in the video at Universal Studios Japan. The ride is still open to this day.

Si bien no se puede comparar Terminator con Bourne, considero que el show de Bourne es muy bueno, está a la altura

Why did I get emotional at the end haha Such a good childhood memory
I did too ):
👍
I only watched this once as a child. I could barely remember anything but I remember this scared me.
So am I the only one considering this is what sequel after T2 suppose to be.
No, lots of people consider this the real Terminator 3.
Definitely. I'm very surprised this was never made into a movie.
Look at the crap we are getting now with TERMINATOR DARK FATE ...watch out for the female lesbian LGBT-1000.
This world and Hollywood have lost their minds.
Larry Le I agree
Oh dude, I’m right there with ya! It was like the perfect epilogue
Glad I purchased a Terminator shirt from there when I did in 2016.
Bill Came I would’ve told him yeah it doesn’t exist...YET 😂👀
I was lucky to go on this attraction at universal studios in Hollywood when I was a kid. Awesome nostalgia.
Too many white actors
This attraction was impressive when it first opened and years later up to it's closing. It was a grand run and there won't be another like it.
I totally feel the audience's passion ... wow I got goosebumps.

This was my favorite show at Universal Studios. So sad they end the show, watched it at least 4-5 times and every time always a good time. Thanks
Lol

Not sure why this just popped up in the Recommended videos but I watched all 30 min of it, I loved that ride and T2
I love how everyone was cheering just like the 1st time they saw it. Makes me happy knowing that they enjoyed the show
Sad to see this show fold..saw it three times over the years. I still slam Don Julio with the T2:3D shot glasses I bought in the merch store.

I would love to see this again. Saw it back in like 00-01.
It's funny how many people showed up to this as apposed to dragon challenge
Gamer A. I actually flew down from New York to ride DC one last time. Even in the 95° humid Florida weather. Worth it! I'm Pissed universal didn't auction the ride to another park. Instead they just scrapped it.
That’s why they got rid of dragon challenge😂
Mike12mt the reason why they didn’t auction it is because the track had rust and stress fractures. It would have to be totally rebuilt just like the hulk to be used again.
I'm what you're talking about. My brother and I went to ride Dragon Challenge one last time but the line was so ridiculously long, it expanded outside of Hogsmead.
Always thought parks like Universal / Disney should make a park featuring their old rides/attractions or at least have a museum of it.
When i was young and did this show, i was too young to see the first 2 movies so I had no idea what was happening in the show but still thought it was cool. Nowadays T2 is my favorite movie of all time and i would kill to experience this show again
I had no clue that it had an extended queue, but I guess most universal rides do, interesting
I remember reading that opening day of Hogsmead actually had the line to enter the land go the long way around Islands of Adventure and at one point even used the extended queue of Spiderman to hold onto people.
Huh
Such an amazing ride! Saw the show so many times at every visit to Universal, the first time I saw it it blew me away! Great video from start of show to end!
I think they should’ve updated this instead of closing it completely. I think they should’ve made it a simulation ride, and make it where you’re transported into the Judgement Day future and you get to shoot the Terminator cyborgs. And along the way Arnold, Sarah and John help you out throughout the ride. Almost like the Back to the Future ride combined with the Buzz Lightyear and Harry Potter ride.
They could've just revamped it with new footage, new plot, new technology, new characters etc. But that would've been cool too, don't get me wrong.
ItsRusevDay IKR! Just anything by closing it down!!
But then that would be another stupid screen ride.
even better they could have made it like the spider-man or transformers ride, that would have been AMAZING!
