I have to say, I wasn’t sure about the colourway of the Nars eye palette at first, but I changed my mind as soon as you applied it, Caroline. It’s absolutely beautiful and it looks stunning on you. Thank you for showing us this and for all of your great tips ❤

Ooooh I've been looking forward to this all week and it didn't disappoint. Thanks, Caroline! I love your modern take on a smokey eye and it was great to see how you balance cheeks and lips to keep the focus on the eyes. I think I've been going in too heavy with dark browns or greys with matte black eyeshadow, which after seeing this, probably makes my lashes disappear and so can make the overall look seem closed and OTT. I have hooded eyes so I need the balance of some colour underneath (another thing I've learned from you!), but I can see where I've been going wrong and been a bit heavy handed. This is a great lesson in less is more! I really feel confident to recreate this look as it feels more sophisticated. I have to go in a little more exaggerated than yours because my glasses make my eyes smaller. Could we have a glasses tutorial at some point, Caroline? 🙏 Thanks for giving me knowledge and confidence, I'll be in my PJs watching Strictly tonight with fab, sultry eyes! 🤣X

Thank you, Caroline, for such a gorgeous look. What a difference it makes when a professional is in charge !! Love this smoky eye, and will definitely give it a try with your tips about the 'concealer markers', seems very helpful! I really like the lip too, have you tried the Maybelline Lifter Glorss (with HA)? really, really nice and very flattering on my 50+ lips, with the disappearing borders! 🤣🤣🤣

Gorgeous look ❤ I find I can apply that sort of dark powder to someone else, no problem, but panic when I try to do a dark smoky eye on myself. It helps that, instead of powder, I use a dark eyeshadow crayon, brand unimportant. That way you can smudge and blend without worrying about fallout and it can be easily wiped clean if it goes in the wrong place…. Powder can then be carefully pressed on top if you wish and you have a guide. Have a great weekend all! ❤xxx

Loved this!🙏🏻 With small hooded eyes and no (not much) space between crease and brows I really need to make eyes look bigger by utilising the lower lash line with shadow and/or pencil - can you show/explain how to do this please? At age 56 lid/brow skin also drops, so even taking shadow out to the sides of eyes can look droopy 😕 Thank-you Caroline! 🤗

Morning Caroline! Cup of coffee and a video to start my Saturday 🙂 I always end up looking tired when doing a smokey eye. Your tips are very helpful, so I'm trying again today. Can you suggest a good eye lash primer? That might help me to bring out the eye lashes more I hope.
    Enjoy your weekend!

If you’ll excuse the name, I’ve just started using Too Faced Better than Sex eyelash primer - and the best results are to not let it dry before adding the first coat of mascara

Great look, modern Smokey and wearable too! I have now learned that I need to start being braver with the deeper shade first otherwise it gets either wispy washy or muddy. What shade would look best with hazel eyes and light/medium neutral skin? I’ve experimented with browns and it just doesn’t brighten my eyes, looks flat instead.

Is there a particular eye primer you could recommend for not making eyelids look dry and crepey? My eyes look normal (for a 53 year old with generally good skin, few lines), until I put primer on, and then I look like crinkle central! I have tried elf, Beautypie, Milani, MAC Paint pots, but all the same end result 😳. Thank you Rx

You make makeup application appear so effortless. My problem lately is I feel like my eyes always look tired, especially with makeup on. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but they're small, down turned eyes and I always look tired.
