You forgot to mention that ''% Damage taken goes to mana'' only applies when you receive physical damages. I've tested it.

I recently bought D2R. Game's still amazing since the OG release! Currently Act 5 Hell summon necro. No teleport yet, but I've been TP Stomping in key places (arcane sanc) lol.

Five of the traits of enigma are nearly or at the best any item gives for those traits. FRW, +skills on armor, +str, +mf and life after kill. The armor is bis even for most sorc builds. Actually six +defence.
I guess it makes sense if you're mostly speaking to people playing single player or Necros, but Engima is probably the most important item period in DIablo II, it totally changes the entire game by making WW Barbarians, Hammerdins, Fissure Druid/Werewolves, Bone/Poison/Summon Necros, WW Assasins, and more crazy builds to be able to PVP effectively. It also allows all of the other character types to be able to MF and rush other players, while without Enigma that would basically just be for the Sorc alone.
Enigma turns pvp into a rather boring telestomp fest.
Yes it might make some builds viable in pvp that weren't before but at the cost of making the entire thing boring.
@@GGMentor Boring is the last thing I would call Diablo 2 pvp. It's lightning fast and relies on reflexes and splitsecond reaction times, coupled with the geometry of hammers, traps, arrows, novas, blizzards, fissures, etc. filling up the Blood Moor, with some classes like Amazons, Necros and Sorcs etc trying to keep distance and predict teles, while hammerdins are trying to get in point blank to land hammers or a smite combo, the caster has to tele away and risk hitting a hammer...
D2 has the most brilliant isometric PVP of all time,and I would even say the best MMO pvp of all time.
The biggest piece of advice I give people who have trouble with pvp in D2 is work on hitting the highest FCR breakpoints on your character; once you do, you'll be able to keep up with everyone else and the battles make a lot more sense.
And enigma doesn't make *some* builds viable, it makes *most* builds viable. If it weren't for enigma, the only characters who could seriously be used for MFing would be sorc 90% of the time or pali with charge if you're feeling spicy, same with any types of runs or rushing.
And in PVP the pali and sorc would totally dominate due to tele and charge, while every other class wouldn't be mobile enough.
The enigma etheral plate is known for making your merc run faster with his consentration aura from his pride thresher.
thats right i have one of those , 3 total , one on necro one on barb and a ehtheal one for merc.

How much grinding does one have to do for the elusive high runes to drop? The highest I've ever seen drop is Fal... it blows my mind the amount of people walking around with enigmas and elite runeword zerkers and such. And I already feel like I play too much, haha.
Hell cows like hundreds of runs lol, probably will eventually get you the runes you need if not the items to trade for it
@@GGMentor I did find an Ohm while clearing the monsters leading up to Andariel while doing lots of Andy/Meph/Pindle MF runs. It dropped from a Fallen of all things (I think) and slightly off screen.

Just buy it for $150 lol. The amount of hours spent grinding to get legitimately will make your hourly rate like $0.20 an hour. Lol.

@@jeromeo12 I've found 2 high runes since this post, so I am no longer worried about it. I would never pay hard money for them either.
Great runeword however, it has certainly been put on a pedestal I think. I enjoy cutting my way through anything I see. I don't rush to bosses and have no issue running around therefore, there are much better options for me. It has its uses of course however, I dare say it might be a little overrated.

I've avoided Enigma on purpose. I'm not sure every class should have the ability to teleport infinitely. I got lucky and found a +1 necro skills amulet with teleport charges, I think it's a nice balance having to use teleport sparingly. It's a useful tactical tool for minion repositioning, but not being able to just spam it keeps the game grounded. I actually have to use it as a skill, rather than a shortcut. Also allowed me to run Bramble armour, which in 2.4 seems to have had a nice boost on thorns with my minions and the bonus poison damage is huge with death's web. Still got the tactical teleport, but it's made running a hybrid summon/poison necro much more viable as I don't have 20 points in every synergy for poison nova. Not far off, but still 8 points short on synergies at level 99.

If you are not on diablo II Resurrected, are you using the old classic client?
The runes are correct, my base was an artisan's Shadow plate. 🤷🏼♂️
@@GGMentor jah ith ber. It was a magic item but I've used the magic items to create runewords before. I know set items you can't turn into run words but I have used magic items to create rewards. Is it that it's artisan? Kind of like a superior???
@@patrickwaring7904 no buddy magic items cannot be used to create runewords in.
@@patrickwaring7904 this is a big ouch. Made that mistake with cheap runes but doing it with a Ber is an expensive lesson. You need a natural socket item, magical ones (artisan prefix) can't be turned into rune words.

I was actually able to transmute one in the cube. Cleaned out my rune stash pretty good but totally worth it.
hello, i recently found the runes but im not sure about what base is the standart now we can no longer str bug. mage plate?
Mage plate, and dusk shrouds are good low strength options.
Archon plate is a good option too.
Extremely low strength is light plate, there are people who do this.
It's really up to you.

must be frigging hacking or something. how does he get all perfect roll on these expensive item? that is perfect max def 15%ed archon plate on top of base max def for archon with max roll enigma. not just enigma but his other items are max roll or really close max roll too. this is downright impossible. he must be cheating or spending shiit tons of cash.

@@GoodGuy374 sure when I get home I know it's a crap ton. Most people use use an ort rune / ral rune in the cube to repair ridiculous runewords
@@GGMentor I suppose it is better to make enigma on regular archon plate if I use it on barb or zealot then. It would be nice to see how much it costs per durability regular vs superior base.
