M Baas The issue is that Stitch got flak for speak about the repercussions of the Reebok deal. After Stitch got fired, Reebok immediately distanced themselves saying they had no part in it. That makes Dana nd the UF look bad. Dana is a PR nightmare for the UFC if they want to reach the masses. He needs to stay off Twitter. He is unprofessional. I don't care if it was an unpopular decision but its how he handled it.
And as Julio said, you can be a UFC company man if you want but again in light of Fox, Reebox, and larger companies his antics won't get the UFC too far.

Dana used Stitch Duran until stitch wanted to get paid as one of the best cut men ever. When UFC forbid even Cutmen from sponsors, it wrecked his livelihood. It’s not like Dana increased their income to compensate. UFC got paid. Not fighters trainers, cutmen or anyone.

As a huge UFC and Dana fan, I'm so very disappointed with the way he's conducted himself over the past few months. Not just with Stitch, but Burt Watson as well. Not to mention the absolute Twitter-apocalypse that happened when fans went ape shit on him for it. He's gone from one of the best Owners to a complete douche bag that believes his own hype. I cancelled my fight-pass sub, and I won't be buying another PPV either until there's a big change in the way that the UFC treats the fans, regardless if they agree with Dana over a decision.

I am one of the few who still likes the UFC videos. Maybe if Dana fired Bruce Buffer, or Joe Rogan, I Would probably be mad. Not some cutman, who doesn't effect me at all. Yes I understand he (Stitch) is very popular, and has been in the fight business for many many years. But at the end of the day, what did he expect? He spoke badly about the UFC, and Reebok. Scott Rooney I think this debacle has more to do with the sponsorship deal rather than first name (Jacob) Stitch Duran. From what I can gather, some people were forced to drop their own sponsorship deals as part of the arrangement. Others stood to make more money. Stitch was the one who ultimately pointed out the disparity of the deal for the cutmen. It could of been any of them. I know, business is business at the end of the day but clearly the fans are not happy either. Remember Fight Night 65 when Sam Alvey came out in support of Reebok? He got booed. I've always had a twisted liking for Dana because of his bluntness, however on this occasion I think the way he attacked UFC fans that came out in support of Stitch was disgraceful. Just like Dana said, Stitch and he came up together when the Firtittas bought UFC. You cannot say after 14 years of working together that there was no rapport or respect whatsoever? I think Stitch ruffled Dana's feathers and Dana didn't like it. So out of disrespect, he asked "the department that deals with that stuff" to fire him.
