I’ve just started Spring Onions, Spinach Beet, more Radishes and Beetroot 🤞. I’d like to do more potatoes but wouldn’t be able to move the container if the weather turns. Next year I hope to do a main crop and some earlies, so I can enjoy more homegrown potatoes 🥔 😊
Thank you very much for your comment Charlotte which is greatly appreciated. You have started a good range of veg that should give you a good supply through the autumn and winter. Also, although they can take up a lot of space it is always worth growing as many potatoes as you can. Kind regards. Gary
❤ Thank you so Much!!❤ I'm in Carlisle UK and I have been too ill and busy with moving to get Anything done in the garden.... So I really Appreciate the knowledge and information that you are giving us All ❤. I'm going to get some sowing done Now and I am grateful to be able to learn so Much from you and your other subscribers!!❤
I'm glad you liked the French Breakfast radishes. Unfortunately I have no luck with radishes. They grow best in spring and fall, and where I live there's hardly anything but winter and summer. People often say they're a super easy crop, but in some places they're about the hardest vegetable to grow. Thanks for the suggestions; your garden looks great!
Thank you for your comment which is really appreciated. It’s a shame that you have difficulty with radish as they are such a lovely veg. Kind regards. Gary
Thank you very much for your comment and I’m so pleased you are enjoying my videos. It looks like you are growing some really good winter veg. I really like the idea of giant winter spinach which I’m going to look into myself, so thank you for the suggestion . Kind regards. Gary
Great advice as always Gary. For the first time I’m growing over the winter, Spring Hero Cabbage, White Lisbon (winter Hardy variety) Lambs Trophy Lettuce and Stamford Leeks, we shall see! 👍👍👍
Thank you very much for the comment which is greatly appreciated and I’m really pleased you enjoyed the video. You are growing sone fantastic varieties of veg so please let me know how you get on. Kind regards. Gary
Thanks I didn’t realise there was still so much that can still be sown. I’m sowing Swiss chard, more radishes and beets and thanks to you I’ve just been out and got some Charlotte potatoes for Christmas x
Thank you very much for the comment Lucy which is greatly appreciated. Yes, if you plant your Charlotte’s now in containers they should be ready just in time for Christmas. Kind regards. Gary
Thank you very much for your comment. Alisa Craig are a great variety of onions which I gave grown successfully for many years. Thank you for the suggestion. Kind regard. Gary
I’ve just got my order of a couple of types of Cabbage, kale, cauliflower, sprouting broccoli and chantenay carrots, but will also try some more turnips after your suggestion! Thank you for the video 😊

Hi Sheila, thank you for your comment which is really appreciated. If you plant your beets in a nice bright spot you should get a good crop before the cold weather arrives. Kind regards. Gary
I’ll have to try that then I have some things doing exceptionally well, especially my tomatoes, courgettes and leeks but others I just can’t seem to do, but I will keep trying and learning x
I left a few radicchio to go to seed cos they produce stunning blue cornflower type blooms all summer. The flower spikes do need support I grow mine near my trellis
I grew it last year left some to flower (very pretty) they self seeded and I have many volunteer plants 😂. Still trying to figure out the best way of blanching it as it is very bitter.
@@TheAllotmentGardenandKitchen all we seem to get here is rain and wind the past few weeks, we have had a good crop of cabbage kale and swede so far, the runners are only just starting to produce, we have lots of green tomatoes, no bell peppers as of yet tho, the herb garden is coming along well as are courgettes and butternuts
