Thank you very much for comment Sylvie which is greatly appreciated. Yes, with the free seeds the magazines do represent really good value for money and many of seeds they give away are reasonably good. I hope Wilko can find a buyer as it will be a big loss for veg and flower gardeners. Kind regards
@@charlotterydz6343 there are quite a few magazines that give away free seeds so it is well worth looking out to see what is available. Kind regards. Gary
Amazing 🤩 this would be really useful 👍 as gardening magazines go, are there any that you’d particularly recommend for a new gardener? Thanks in advance 🙏
@@charlotterydz6343 there are quite a few but I like Gardener’s World, Garden Answers and Kitchen Garden. They all have good content as well as often giving away free seeds with some issues. Kind regards. Gary

Thanks for these ideas Gary. My Cauliflowers seem to be doing alright (what I planted after my potatoes finished using your method of reusing and refreshing the compost, many thanks again 🙏) Also my first ever home grown potatoes were unbelievably good, I don’t think I can go back to supermarket potatoes 🙀!! I felt so proud harvesting them and had them for pretty much every meal until they were gone 😍. The things I’ve had most success with have been seeds from Wilko 😔 I also got a lot of my pots and growing bits there, as a first time gardener Wilko was so useful to me. I have recently done a seed order from a place online called Suttons, spring onions, Mangetout and dwarf green beans which have all grown well… so far. You’ve given me lots more ideas with this video I’m thinking Suttons Speedy Veg leaf salad winter mix 🥗 and I love the tips about sowing the seeds 👍
Thank you very much for your comment which is greatly appreciated. You seem to be doing really well so well done to you! There really is nothing like the taste of your own veg and potatoes always taste that little bit more special when you grow them yourselves. I’ve always found Sutton’s seeds to be good quality although they do seem to be a little more expensive than most other suppliers although you could argue that the extra cost is worth it. Keep up the great work and I look forward to further updates. Kind regards. Gary
Oh yes I’ve noticed the Suttons seeds are far more expensive. I was so lucky to pick up the Wilko ones when I did. I also got lucky during Tesco seed sale in Summer, picked up a few Unwins seeds. Have you had any experience with those? The Radishes taste so good, really powerful, even the thinnings are delicious 😋. I think I’ll grow Radish throughout the seasons 😃 perfect gardening snack!!!

I lov button hole kale, (also known as kalettes or flower sprouts) They grow much like a sprout but with loose, open flower like shoots, all up the stem) It is absolutely delicious- my most favourite veg ever! . You won't be disappointed. :-) I also bought my seeds and lots of gardening accessories from Wilko- quite sad about their closure. I have found premier seeds, kings seeds , just seed and simply seeds to be very good and trustworthy suppliers. Thanks for another great video, Gary. I really look forward to them- they enthuse and motivate me! Happy gardening :-)

Have you ever tried growing Mache? It has a delectable flavor and is sometimes mixed into the gourmet salad mixes they sell in the grocery stores like at "Whole Foods Market" or sometimes you can buy containers of Mache.
