I got super excited over the book because when you opened it at first I saw the "Detail & Scale" emblem and they are my favorite book producers for aircraft. When you started flipping through it I was like yep, that is detail & scale quality for sure. Really neat.

@@BGsModelWorkshop The National Air and Space Museum at Dulles airport is the one you want to try and make it to. I’ve been there 4 times and loved it every time. The Inola gay bomber is there as well as the shuttle and they also have an X-15 on display
The AMT Pro Shop 57 is one of the best stock 57 kits I’ve seen. It not only has photo etch, it has wires for plug wires and hoses. If you like customizing one, the Street Machine (blue car)) is awesome. Has a 9” Ford rear end, 4-link with coil overs, disc brakes, both SBC and BBC engines. It’s a custom version of the Pro Shop without the photo etch… There is also a Coka Cola (yellow & white) and a pink box art kits that are EXACTLY the same as the Pro Shop kit, but does not have photo etch or wires. All four are awesome 57 kits with great detail and excellent quality. All are very nice, overlooked AMT kits…

That Space Shuttle reminds me of the Saturn V kit that had as a kid. That included magazine was really nice! I didn't do a Monday Mail Call (or any other mail thing for that matter). I was recovering from an epic weekend at the Aftershock Festival in Sac.
Yes, that 57 Bel Air kit is a “hyper detail” kit when comparing it to any other AMT kits around. Some things like the trans mounts were a bit testing but you will love that kit.

Cool stuff. I too have that 57 Chevy Pro Shop kit. Its been in the stash sonce the 90s. It was a new tool back then so it is better than the older kit. Wish I had a meeting place like the Model Car Mafia.

Nice mail call and stash adds. While the 57 Chevy looks like a rewrap, I doubt anyone would take the time to put an AMT 50 anniversary sticker on the front so I'm guessing that it is indeed factory sealed. Love that book with the Space Shuttle.
Its funny the super singles are easier to change in real life than a regular 22.5 tire I've actually changed one on the side of a freeway before didnt even have to take the rim off the truck
What a club, everyone gives you stuff! It seems like that happens at every club meeting. Any way, all kidding aside .. Boxes from the era of that 57 chevy .. that looks like early to mid 2000s .. AMT had some really bad box art builds. 🤢🤮
