Easy test of its too rich from the carb, turn the fuel petcock off while it's running, and if the bog goes away while the fuel bowl is emptying you have your answer
Yep, I have done that many times, works best for a float out of adjustment but it does lean out the mixture in general. You can also lean the bike over with the fuel on to overfill the carb and check for a low float height.
I had the '02 version, and I can't put into words just how incredible that bike handled. All I had to do was think about it, and that bike cornered for me, which was great because I was lousy at cornering. I bought it used from a 14 year old kid who only ripped it up and down his driveway. It had a 144cc long-rod kit in it, and the power was perfect. It still had the little titties on the tires. Thanks Joe, you really crack me up. The bike is running so we'll check for a spark, had me in stitches. It will keep on doing that until you put the exact right number jets inside of the carburetor to.,or the 120 and 340 which is still the right number jets broken down into 2 separate jets likes inside of those kehin carburetor's. If you have the 27.5 already in it still just add in the 340 main jet and it's finished Joe.
Most of you probably do, but for anyone who doesn’t know Mikuni and Keihin use different jetting measurements. I believe Keihin simply just jet diameter in millimeters so a 145 jet would be 1.45 millimeters in diameter. But Mikuni uses a different way to measure them, I’m not 100% but I believe it has to do with volume and flow rate.
Joe, your Apple Trees, the Deer are destroying them. You need bigger fencing, larger diameter circle and much taller. Also a Gator Bag for when it's been too dry for too long. Also, how are the Potatoes and Pumpkins coming? Please let us know...
No I'm the 460 main jet instead of the 340 main jet cause you're using the 27.5 pilot jet still. So you'll only need the 460. If you had A different jet in the pilot I'd say change it to the 120 and main jet to A 340. If the forums say 27.5 and 460 that's what it takes then. I just gave you the secondary option of getting the 460 from using 2 different jets that adds up to 460 together as one is all.
One thing to know is with NGK plugs, the number in the middle represents how hot the plug is. But it’s backwards for NGK, so for dirt bikes I find that standard range is 8. The colder plug is nine, and a hotter plug would be 7.

What were the pedal valves like? Chipped valve pedals can also cause issues. See what mm size carb is, since it’s not the stock carb.

It does seem to smoke a lot, maybe that is perticular to that engine. It goes like dry grit off a chrome shovel though. The pickup is most impressive and sounds great fun to ride. Well done. Nice to see somethings working out so well for you, after some disasters. Still want an update on the farm though .... any chance ? Mr sticky beak here wants to know :)
That’s probably the best sounding bike you have ever bought! She was ripping it!
Probably the carb clean. Good stuff!
I said it before, There is nothing that sounds better than a finely tuned two stroke, miss my yz 125
Weird how you didnt use your spark plug wrench on the float bowl plug ;)
I knew this bike was going to scream this Suzuki's always ripped! I don't know why but I like the old ones better than the new ones
Great video Joe .
Wautoma joe ....when you got on it that power band I was saying maan that sounds crispy!!!
You can also split it like this to 120 pilot jet and A 340 main jet. 120+340=460
Them red and green ones eat dust. next to me and is usually that blue one .
I love that loud scream of this RM.
Great video Joe
My guess at 5:00 mins in is that they left the stock jets when they replaced to the fmf exhaust.
Good morning . Love your content . I would like to send you a rare jet boat i have 1970 volo sand skip 1 of 1
And a 1973 bull taco 185cc trials bike
The 125cc just jas that bad ass sound love it. Lots of show but just enough Go. 2 stroke love
Great work Joe 👍 what helmet camera do you use when we go to The Land ? Because if it’s a go pro the settings are wrong my friend, you can tell by the waves in the field lol. Not a criticism my friend just spoils your vlog a little 👍
