CBR400 P10 - Swingarm bearings

As I don't know what has been done to this bike, I am gradually replacing everything I think needs replacing.

I wish my tool kit was as clean and tidy as yours. My Britool socket set I bought in the mid 60s, AF and Whitworth. With some later metric additions. Keep up the tantalising work young lady at 78 I can still get excited.

I had some whitworth spanners that I gave to a friend. They are the weirdest set I've ever owned by not being measured Across Flats like all others.
But don't look close, my tools aren't as spotless as you might think.

@@bikerstuff2 I had a workshop on a local farm for years and I serviced and repaired cars trucks and farm equipment, I have many bespoke tools that I improvised with over the years. I retired when I found the wintertime too cold to work in an unheated tin roofed building.

Nice.demonstratipn dana . One thing i noticed that the bushing inserted towards your right hand was slightly off set leaning down while starting . I future please ensure that bushings are atraight to start with or they can kink and distort . One question also . I have not noticed any grease nipple in the mount or attachment where you were working and do youbdull the whole cavity with grease as it is a praxtice here to fill the cavity with such pivots of swing arm with grease . ???

There are no zerk fittings as they are not required. You do not need to fill a cavity with grease if it is not needed. It seems as though someone previously had coated the outside of the sleeve in grease, which was pointless and I removed.
Regarding the needle bearing insertion. The bearing insert discs I used inside and out ensure the bearing goes in straight, as you saw immediately I began tightening it.
