not sure if you are gonna see this, but how did you make that cutout for the sub? it’s pretty straight forward for a circle and maybe i’m just stupid but i can’t figure out how to cut out that square hole for the kicker
If i remember correctly i just used a ruler to lay down the flat lines and on kickers website you can download a printable version of the cutout template. It wont print on one page with a standard letter printer but you can still print the curve and trace it. Kind of a pain. If you have the original purchase box for the sub it has a cardboard cutout template.
Thanks for the video man, so in all of this in the final how does it sound, are you hitting those lows, and also big difference from the other sub you had .
This box is pretty strong from 27 to 55 hz or so. There is definitely some sacrifice of the higher frequencies with this tuning but it does play pretty low. I don't have a Termlab but the output is surprising for a 500 watt amp. I have a freshly reconed HDC3 to match the other one that came out so hopefully I will be building an enclosure for a pair of those in this car soon. (Subs & port firing rearward this time and of course way more juice)
Well that sounds pretty good, I am myself not a guy that likes highs in my music love them really rumbling Lows, Well hopefully you keep us posted on the videos thanks a lot appreciate it
@@jakearranguez7436 Using 3/4" wood: 20.25" x 22" x 37" are the external dimensions with a double baffle. Port dimensions are 20.5" by 4" with a 32.25" port length. Tuning freq. is 29.3 Hz.
True the prefab box this sub came in when purchased was abysmal, whoever built it didn't have large enough pieces of wood so they tacked on particle board to make the box the required dimensions. Tiny port too. In my experience these subs do well in the larger boxes, the sound quality with a 6.0 cu ft. sealed box is phenomenal. I would recommend reinforcing the port, either with a second piece behind the outer port wall or some internal round bracing inside the port, that is the one thing I wish I would have done before I painted this enclosure.
Yo, I like your style homie. Chill with confidence.
That kreg rip cut is actually way better than a table saw by a long shot. Get a good blade, and you are golden.
What program did you use to tune the box?
What side did you put the port/sub
