Repo men had some great stories. They were generally hated by most people. We were taught to "pay your bill's and the repo man will leave you alone".

I'm not saying that his website that sells the tools hasn't sold a ton of them. I am saying very few have developed an adequate skill it takes to pick all locks they may encounter.

I consider this one of the most destructive methods that (depending on how many times you hit it) may still be able to be considered "Non-destructive", but may also destroy the lock, making it "Destructive" (Either Non or Destructive). * You break a protective wafer or put a hole in the lock in some way, where the damage allows it to still function with the key and you can secure the item with it, but you have broken part of the lock in order to bypass it. (destructive). * You rip out or drill out the lock and the lock can no longer function as a lock. (Destructive). I hope that helps.
Yes... you see similar systems on some Euro profile cylinders. But this requires more moving parts that add to the cost and could fail. It’s FAR better to design the lock properly with passive protection from this.
On the lock with the more secure construction, would not that slide hammer still work? I'd bet it wouldn't take many slams of the hammer to shear the lugs right off. Might need a hardened screw but perhaps not.

I’ve broken those tapcon anchors... I have some chrome vanadium tool steel screws that are supposed to be better, but I’ve not tried them on a lock like this yet.
Would probably depend on the screw. A good hardened steel screw should put up at least a little fight, but not all lock makers use those, of course. A good thing to test!

It does work amazingly well when the lock is attached to huge chain that chain is secured to steel girder so that the lock core absorbs all the energy, but I would assume that it would be much harder to do that when the chain is attached to bike or something similar.
Well, you may need to hold the chain taut with one hand and need to pull horizontally rather than downward. Either the lock will let go or the cheap chain will. Regardless, job done.

That would limit the usability of the lock. However if the hole looks sideways the screw would just break into it as the pulling force would be perpendicular to its axis (otherwise you have to fix the lock in a special position manually).
I used to defend Master Lock, saying that it depends on the lock model and the lock type (Pin Tumbler, Sliders, Wafers, Disc Detainers), but I've come to the conclusion that, although not all Master Locks are created equal and although some are Master Locks are more difficult than other Master Locks, when it comes to ACTUAL security, they all seem to be VERY vulnerable to AT LEAST 1 basic attack, without requiring a heavy investment in experience. I only buy Master Lock brand locks, for practicing lock sport. Friends don't let friends secure things with a Master Lock.
One thing I don't get about Master Lock is that they bring their A game for only one part of the lock usually the body or the pins but not both like their LOTO locks have 6 pins with spools inside and their locks made of stronger materials have 4 standard pins it really confuses me.
I guess it lets them keep the price down, but still truthfully advertise one particular feature per lock to make it seem like a quality lock. The customer looks at a wall of master lock locks and subconsciously attributes features from other locks onto the one they have selected.

This doesn't seem like a practical attack, considering most bike locks are used in public areas. Carrying around a drill and slide hammer to take 15-20 seconds to get into a lock for a bike? By that time you're easily on video and someone 's called the cops. I mean, it seems like an easy fix to a dumb problem, but still.
Plus, the point is, it's ONLY a design flaw that can be fixed very easily. Heck, even just welding some metal (or metal rods) around the rim would make this attack less effective or not work at all. It's much harder to pull a large object through a small hole, then it is a pull a large object through a hole that is slightly larger than the object.

As an automobile mechanic I find the Vise-Grip adapter the most useful adapter for the slide hammer. I use that shit on everything.

Can you do a couple of those types of locks vs. the ramset ? (unless you did and I somehow missed it).
You might try the combination of a powder actuated tool to drive threaded studs into target locks, then use the stud to pull the core.

They could have the cylinder installed from the top (inside) instead, thus preventing it from being pulled

All that's necessary is a rigid attachment(to a stop sign, or bike rack) so that the force cannot go anywhere but towards pulling the core.
