Btw I played the crap out of the Neversoft game on N64 and I still remember the cheat codes lol I also loved Spider-Man 2 on GameCube.
I think the most charming thing about Marvel’s Spider-Man, to me, is Insomniac’s devotion to delivering a Spider-Man game for the fans. The culmination of influences from so many different mediums regarding Spider-Man *(Ultimate comics, Raimi trilogy, TASM movies, MCU etc.)* really makes the game seem special. I’m sure it feels like it is as well. Fuck man. This wait is killing me.

Michael(From AH), and Greg Miller inspired me to Platinum God of War, and Greggy is inspiring me again! Let’s go for that second Platinum! Also loved the spoiler-free review, and loved hearing your impressions about the game. I’m so excited to play it this week on stream!
This game looks absolutely beautiful. However, I really hope they decide to release some big patch in the future that gives the option to turn the entire game cell-shaded. I'd really like to start playing comic books now, please :)

halodis ciple ps3 showed you Sony was going to have the better exclusives, I don’t know why anyone would just have an Xbox. I got a 360 before a ps3. But the games don’t compare.
Love these guys and trust their opinion, but if the shirtless spiderman is in the game and a direct nod to greg, it does affect their editorial. Being referenced in the pop culture zeitgeist would be so appealing to so many people, that it could conceivably poison the editorial landscape with devs subconsciously giving "shout outs" in various easter egg type things for good faith PR. Greg has proven his integrity through the years, and It isn't a issue here because we have context of his career. But something like that could evolve into something nefarious if devs key in on up and coming Social media landscape people and give them easter eggs.
Im was very hesitant of this game. I know sonys are always amazing but I was scared this was just going to be a mediocre game. But for greg to semi make the comparison to god of war makes me happy. I trust them and I feel Greg specifically has my style of gaming completely in common. So im excited again for this game!!
Now that insomniac was so successful with the Spider-Man game I think they should set their sights on creating a Wolverine game and setting it in Madripoor. It could be a hybrid of sandbox/openworld and level based gameplay like the Spiderman game was. They could incorporate his motorcycles for transportation and Assassins Creed stlye parkour for traversal. The combat mechanics can be similar but it needs to be more complex too since wolverine is a master of multiple fight styles. Gamers should definitely have the choice to use claws or not. The lunging mechanics from the previous movie tying game need to be kept as well. IF Mardripoor isnt enough Japan could work or maybe apply multiple sandboxes that could be reached via XJet (Yes gamers should have the choice to actually fly the jet and or make it a quicktime event) the gadgets in the game can be written in with forge cameos and drop box scenes. WOLVERINE shoud be able to pick up weapons, bats, swords etc. Even guns. Definitely needs to be as close to the M rating as possible.

I remember competing the campaign of Sunset Overdrive earlier this year and similarly actually ENJOYED collecting collectables. Simply because of how fun it was to traverse the city. There were a ton of them but it was so fun. Hoping for a sequal thats also a Xbox Exclusive.
Super excited. As someone who hates collectables in games. I'm not super excited about that but getting suits I'm excited. The other reviews are also on par with what I thought it was Fiona be. Around 88~90

Collecting all the back packs unlocks a certain suit....

I bought my PS4 Slim yesterday and put my preorder in! Gamestop said I could pick it up on Thursday. I'm assuming it won't be playable until Froday though?

YOSEMITE BLAAM he's trolling you can play it on the slim. He's just implying that the pro is better which it obviously is but the slim is an awesome choice games look and run great on the ps4 slim plus it's cheaper
@@courage552 i figured that. I was thinking of getting a Pro but with already having an X and really only wanting to play the exclusives i thought the Slim was the right choice for me.
I only have Horizon Zero Dawn but I've been impressed with the PS4 and am loving Horizon Zero Dawn. I had a PS1 and PS2 growing up but never owned a PS3. I did have a PSP though. But, with the PS4 I now have all the consoles again which is nice.
Now I just need more free time to game lol.

Being the "first person to platinum" a game while having an early copy for review purposes isn't that big of a feat while the millions of us have to wait to play it days/weeks later.It's the same thing as a marathon runner saying "they won the race" when they ran days before the race started.
That really annoys me. Do not boast about something that it would have been impossible for anyone else to do. It's really showing that Greg actually cares about that kind of stuff.
(I know from a video by PS Access, Greg actually asked the director of the game if you needed to play hard difficulty to get the platinum, how fucking sad is that?)
I like that Greg cares about it. I care about trophies as well where it's become something I look forward to, and why its hard for me to play games without them (looking at you Nintendo, catch up with the modern world!)If Greg wants to say "one of the first to____" that's fine. But at least acknowledge that he had it weeks before others, or say first reviewer to plat the game. It's not just Greg but on PSN Trophies and other trophy sites that bother me when they show first achievers that clearly had access to the games well before the public.

Just love how he says is a big fan of spider-man and then proceeds to acknowledge that we never get to see him as an experienced hero for most of his time in the lore, etc when its quite the opposite. For the past 50+ years he's been established, majority of those years he's been out of high school, not a teenager, has a job, etc. Like, come on man XD

It’s times like these that I miss Colin moriarty. I would have loved to see him gush about the game too.
When he said “I just want to swing around today”... that’s how I ended up feeling about Horizon Zero Dawn. I revisit that world all the time just to play around in it. Just to wander the amazing game world and fight those cool ass machines. It never gets boring. I can always find a new way to attack a situation and new little details in the world.
Batman Arkham Knight was so predictable though

Curious, what is revolutionary about GOW that isn't about Spider-man? FTR I haven't played either.
God of war took alot of risk but in the end they just nailed it the game actually lived up to the hype. Everything was impressive the graphics were stunning the characters were intresting and entertaining the story and the way it was told was incredible. Combat was stragetic yet satisfying. Also from a technical standpoint they also succeeded in shooting the entire game in one take. When you look at all the things God of war got right you realize that the game really is 10/10 a masterpiece that doesn't mean the game is perfect no game is. As for Spiderman the way things are looking this could be the best Spiderman game of all time Spider-Man 2 on the ps2 was ahead of its time this looks like that times 10 It might even surpass it but we have to wait and see and sorry this is so long😂
We must've played completely different games because my MJ didn't just sit in a chair telling Peter what to do. She actually had missions where she went out to collect intel herself and even helped save she civilians here and there from the demons.
There is gonna be 9 more suits so there is still hope.

I did not think Insomniac could make a game this highly regarded from so many outlets. I'm pleasantly surprised.
God I fucking hope there's a John to Jack Marston situation where at some point in the story you hand off the Spider-Man reigns to Miles Morales because THAT WOULD BE SO COOL. (Also, pretty sad that if you took out the entire 20 hour story there's probably still more game here than destiny 2 or no man's sky lmfao)

I knew I wanted this game since they announced Insomiac was making a Spiderman game, sounds like there are no worries that that red Spiderman/Pro combo I preoredered will be worth it!

What a surprise, an Insomniac game about a super hero Greg loves, so the review is completely and utterly up it's arse. It's a good game, but good to see Tim actually had some perspective and could critique it.
It's hard to call this review when all you've got is Greg fan boying. That's not a review, at all.
Sounds good, but I think I'll wait to pick up. Not really into the collecting side stuff in open worlds anymore. The movement seems really appealing though.

Ordered it a while ago, got the collector's edition just barely and I don't know exactly when I'll get it in the mail, they said it would take two days after the game comes out, sooooo probably Monday or Tuesday, Betting on Tuesday.

I think the DLC will give us 4 to 6 more hrs. Maybe another 10 in total for the 3 DLC
Let me guess. KFG gave it 10/10 because they have been drooling over this game for the past year.
The story was weird. Don't know exactly what they were going for. There seems to be this big inferiority thing. At the end, Doc gives a little speech about "doing what you see fit for lesser people" which is...I don't even know what the fuck to call it honestly, cause they book end it with Peter learning about MJs promotion. I think they took the arrogant view of "men hold their loved ones back" and things got muddled as a result as they tried to manage the superficial elements of each character thread. Everyone just ends up seeming like a ten year old boy because they have such petulant motivations - "I WANT TO BE THE GUY, ME! HOW DARE YOU STOP ME FROM BEING THE GUY!?" The authoritative voice just lends select characters a break from scrutiny. You never get resolution for Neg and Peters arc is undermined by the May scene (if they were going for "others should have agency," the point of that scene should have been Peter asking May what she wanted to do since it was her life on the table, but they didn't do that so...). Sort of reminds me of Incredibles 2. It's always important to respect your characters motivation and to not let it be shapen by what you might see as a dominant character in the story.
There was some good set up in the beginning, but even that got messed with a bit. Peter sees Spiderman as RandR, really? That's supposed to be our foundation here? He ditches productive things, things even he thinks he should be doing because "Spiderman is fun?" That contextualizes everything else he does, you know. They play him as a do-good guy, but his actions betray that - he doesn't really seem to give a shit about anyone else except if he finds them to be personally amusing. And MJ, what she just comes around at the end because Peter isn't breathing down her neck? Is she blind to this person she supposedly loves? Does he NOT love her? This conflict she has never gets resolved. Peter becoming more casual (which again he doesn't actually do) doesn't make MJ less of a want-to-be. They frame it like this big step forward was taken, they drop the credits on it, but the characters haven't changed really; if they have, they have only grown further apart from each other - their conflicts more hardened. Peter doesn't deal with his problems, MJ doesn't deal with hers, they are just going to play a game from now on ignoring it. Which would be a fine story to tell, if that WAS what they were going for, but that does not seem to be the case. It's very confused and the themes seem to be diverging from eachother wildly.
