I HATE seeing needle bins in our parks. I hate seeing how common children have to play along side Junkies. We are all a product of our environment, Junkies too, but we need to foster better environments for our young. Kids that see this on some level accept this is a part of the World they live in. It conditions their minds. It gives them an option later in life. Why is there any tolerance for drug abusers? It should be a crime rated as high as murder. But its too profitable, creates too many jobs, and all Governments benefit from the dysfunctional members of our society. This will never go away as long as someone is making a buck.
I stayed at a homeless shelter for a few months. they did breathalyzers every night, very strict rules there. you need stuff like that at a homeless shelter

We are having a similar problem in Nanaimo, they have built wethousing buildings and temp shelters for the addicted and homeless, but it does nothing to stop them from getting high, rules are too lenient in these places, coming and going need to be very restricted, free needles need to go, rehab and detox need to be mandatory not optional !!!!!!
Thats a good start. We need a welfare card that only lets you buy necessities. No booze, no cigs, no weed, no cashing out the money to buy drugs, no luxury items, you can pay your bills, buy healthy food, buy gass, buy clothing, and toiletries thats it.

Drug test for welfare if you fail cut off the money mandatory rehab if not no money when they break a law double the time for not wanting help..
