“The moral implications are simply massive…” Heavy handed given that the overall issue was about money paid to a porn star for sex while cheating on his wife when she was home with their young son. He then lied about it and falsified documents to cover it up. Morality prevailed in this trial.

The argument about historical norms (refraining from persecuting predecessors) should not be used as a shield for committing crimes. If there is clear evidence of wrongdoing, it must be addressed legally. Over time, the public would lose trust in the legal system not because it is seen as political, but because it fails to hold powerful individuals accountable. You say that the judicial system will be undermined because of Trumps conviction, I say that the judicial system stands firm by holding powerful people accountable.

The problem is that those in power are still insulated from the justice system in our country.
Our country is divided between those who want freedom and those who want the elites to have all the power.
Trump, for good or bad, represents those who want freedom which is why the elites went after him. The elites hate the citizens of this country and want complete control. They just went after the most prominent person on that side, but don’t think they will stop there.

They nailed his coffin with people that were already been convicted of lying and embezzlement i.e. Cohen and he testified because he’s gonna get some kind of a break or benefit. Of course he’s gonna lie. He had already been proven to be a liar and a thief. Stormy Daniels confirmed her testimony that he had not paid hush money, but nobody’s listening to the truth.
God is sovereign, and if he’s doing to Donald Trump, what he did to King Nebuchadnezzar for his pride/arrogance
then we honor God’s will in these matters.
If this nation is moving towards chaos based on the sins of our nation that violate God’s laws. Like being against marriage only between a woman and a man , we’ve become a nation that’s proud to kill babies in the womb, to allow children to mutilate themselves without their parents consent, parents are now allowing a three year old to tell them what their gender is, we call homosexuality normal, pornography normal, illegal immigration legal, criminals victims, well we deserve the judgment that’s coming from an angry God!
Yes, God gets angry. The penalty for sin is death. That’s why he sent Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for our sins upon the cross so call upon the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved

I reject your assertion that this is a difficult decision for Christians of conscience. The choice is clear. We vote for policies, more than we do personalities. As believers, we want policies that represent and resemble righteousness as much as possible and which allow us to live a quiet and peaceable life. Trump's policies have advocated for Life (imperfectly, but Life just the same) and he has done more than any other president including Reagan, even marching in the Pro-Life demonstrations, which no conservative POTUS has done. He is also Pro-Life in his consistent Anti-War stance, which also preserves life, keeping our sons and daughters out of Deep State meat grinders (needless foreign entanglements). We have seen a reversal of Roe on his watch. We have seen constructivist judges appointed to the SCOTUS. And we have seen clarity concerning the Woke wrecking ball (with its attack on Certainty, itself) now hollowing out our churches, so bereft of biblical discernment. The alternative to Trumpian policy is the Death culture and all the demonic policies that go with it. Forget the vessels of policy (men) for a moment and stand back and look at effects of policy. Which effect do you hope for? A world that can't tell us what a woman is? Or a world with strong tethers to Reality, the Rule of Law, and Righteousness? As for character, promise keeping is paramount. Trump has kept promises like NO OTHER conservative president. Ponder that. Ponder that many years from now when you are still considing his legacy in the Supreme Court and many, many federal judges throughout the land.

This is just another sign post that we are done as a nation. The Good News is that a new Kingdom is on the way. As Christians we should be more interested in the coming Kingdom than this soap opera here on earth. This is all vanity, vanity, and quickly passing. We may not see the coming of Christ, but many will die and stand in the Judgment, before that happens, so the priority in our lives should be preparing for that. Preach the true Gospel of Christ and walk blamelessly before the Lord while we still have the time, because Christ saves, not politics. Our vote is important, but not as much as our changed lives, for that is like casting our vote everyday for the Lord.

@@LindeeLove All people on earth need to obey God's Laws, that are above the laws mankind has made. Problem is, the bible declares all people have fallen short and are all sinners, breaking God's law. Romans 3:23. Romans 13:1 says that it is God that establishes those who are to be in authority and He only has sinners to choose from. I agree that Trump falls short in his character, but his policies are more in line with our Christian heritage. Trump is a womanizer, etc. but Biden is complicit in the ongoing murder of countless children, and these are God's Children, for it is He who is forming them in the wombs of women. They belong to God, not to any woman, they only come through women, and we all belong to God, not ourselves. Biden is also a promoter of things that God says are an abomination in His sight. So from that standpoint, Trump is on the higher moral ground, but he too will stand before God in the coming Great Judgment. We should all be concerned about where we will then stand.

Of course they are, but that’s not the issue here. The issue is selective enforcement/prosecution. It’s hard to think of a president who couldn’t be brought up on charges of one kind or another. Obama engaged in the extrajudicial killing of an American citizen, among other things, while “President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen,” according to his own DOJ. Whatever you may think of Trump, this multi-pronged, selective prosecution of a former president (and current presidential nominee) is unprecedented and unjustified. Preachers should be speaking the Gospel not giving commentary on the political events of the day. You are most likely correct in you observation of todays events Mr Mohler and I mean no disrespect towards you, however you are a minister of the Gospel so preach and teach the gospel and not liken yourself to political advisor for the Christian. Learn about the beginning of our country and how Christians were used by God in secular matters to bring our country into being. God used Christians to make this country prosperous with the ideas that they got out of scripture and seeded into secular culture. A good source is a historian named Bruce Gore, and you can hear his lectures on YT. Today we have relatively little Christian input into our culture and it is causing great harm. Dr. Mohler's program is news from a Christian perspective and exposes the errors in our culture of lies, which is what the bible tells us to do. I understand your sentiment, but Christians should have a voice in our culture and the bible does not forbid it. Dr. Mohler many times does insert biblical principals as he addresses what is happening in our culture as a contrast between darkness and light. As a Christian Seminary president the majority of what he does is preaching the Gospel and teaching the bible. Continue to listen to The Briefing, because you can learn a lot from this brilliant man, both about secular things and the bible. He has been a great help to my understanding of things.
