It really wants a large capacity period four-cylinder engine in it. That six-cylinder, while invariably easier to drive, just doesn't fit with the car. But what a magnificent car it is!
Well it's supposed to be an aero engine race car, so it should have something huge and probably with 8 cylinders. The books have it as a Zborowski car which had 23 litre v12 Zeppelin engines.
This one actually belongs to Anthony Bamford, chairman of JCB. This car was originally engineless and pulled on a trailer for filming. It had an engine fitted in the 70s. The lady who’s wedding it was is director Ken Hughes’ daughter.
