I have a friend that has had this type of mower for about 3 years. He uses two of them (Jorge and Hector) lol !!! They mow all times of the day and night constantly, even in the rain. They do have an inground barrier system and automatically return to the docking station when they run low on charge. If you initially cut you grass then use this as a maintenance mow it will do a much better job.
Thanks Tim, I definitely think they’re better suited for a maintenance mow. I’m excited for the potential to keep our wet areas manageable when it’s too soft to get an actual mower on. I had it out running today and it started raining. Once the rain got to intense it paused the mowing. Probably due to the sensors on this unit.
That’s pretty amazing Heath. I don’t see it replacing the traditional mower for a really manicured cut, but there would certainly be many situations where it would be ideal.
Thanks, Dick, I agree. If it had the ability to lift and cut, it would be much more capable of replacing a mower. However, it’s definitely great for maintenance, and the Wright situation. I think it would do awesome as well. Well manicured thick lawn. There’s definitely a place for it and I have been impressed by the technology and performance of this unit.
Honestly I was too, especially as wet and muddy as it was. We’ll have a few more videos up soon with it mowing more areas like that on the automated setting.
It surprised me how good it worked. In the tall grass it done excellent i must say. Great little rig. Thanks for sharing it with us. I taught this was awesome.
Thank you, it definitely is a cool machine and has done much more than I expected. I set up that back wet swampy area as a mow area and set the Luba loose on it. That video will be coming soon. I was quite impressed with the results.
Thanks Dale, it will never replace a traditional Mower for us as Rachel and I both like mowing and this robot could not keep up with our property and all locations. However, I do think we’ll keep it around to help out. It’s a very handy tool to have.
Lyle, I do the same sometimes and totally understand. This thing can definitely have its place in the right situations. We will be doing more testing and more videos throughout the summer. We may also test out a few other options as well.
I got myself in a little trouble with this video , I showed it to my wife and told her once we finally get out of California and get somewhere we have grass i'm going to get this for her. She asked why for her so I told her as much as you like playing with your phone at least you could be doing something with it thats productive , glad i've got a good mancave setup😅
That is what I need. I mow 3-4 acres in the woods and the yard is not smooth. It is bumpy and I feel like I have been beat up after I mow . If I had to pick up every twig, it won't work here. There are thousands of twigs in my yard and fields. It looks like it did a good job for you,
Thanks. I've seen various robot mowers, and this one's interesting. I've got the equivalent of a couple acres to mow in various segments, separated by a circular driveway and a leg going to the back of the house. If it can proceed from one to the next, holding about 5 segments, that'd be compelling. I don't need the lawn to be perfect (very rural, half a mile off a road--making it also less a worry about theft of the unit). Then I have other segments beyond the house--but they could easily have sticks, so I'd not want to have to pre-scout those areas each time. Still, for the sake of others here, it will be interesting to hear what the unit does when it encounters that--like stop mowing to return to base, to be tended to.
Charlie, we’ll definitely be doing more test and more videos on this mower as we’ve been pretty impressed so far but still have some things to figure out.
Now that is a pretty sweet mower.a lot of tech and design in a small package. Would be a toy for me because I’m retired and like mowing my lawn. You should give the price range sure it’s not cheap. Heck of a review Heath 👍
i don't know how they hold up. my luck it would have went in pond. i have not mowed my yard in 5 years i put the cows on it. good video and job. take care, be safe and well.
I worried about it going in the pond too but the gps is pretty accurate. I wouldn’t mind a few cows but they’re getting pricey too! Plus they’d probably make a mess out of the yard.
This is pretty sweet and I see they have a 10000H version for taller grass that I like, and 2.5acre so I can keep the large southern "solar" lawn maintained while not on the property! And frankly, it's less expensive than the zero- turns I would want to use in order to handle the area when it's overgrown. Though.. I admit.. I'll still end up with a good zero turn or rider as well, and yup, I saw your video about them. Because of the dealer/service issue it makes my best bet up in Alaska look to be a Deere. That or order a Bad Boy and deal with the remote location delays when/if needed.
It is pretty neat and honestly a worthwhile tool in the right situations from what I’ve seen so far. Definitely not going to do everything and doesn’t offer the premium cut of a quality zero turn but it does a good job overall. Dealer support is key, I have a video coming out with a new zero turn we went and checked out that may be perfect for your situation! Hoping to post the video today if everything goes well.
Ron, I’ll get some more testing done on slopes etc. I had it out mowing today in the wet soggy area by my pond with the tall grass and it never got stuck. It did stop mowing once the rain got to heavy though due to the interference with the sensors.
Me too! I had it out mowing that area today on the automatic setting and it did pretty good, not great but that’s a lot to ask for a unit like this. Sort of a torture test. The rain did eventually shut it down though as the heavy rain interfered with the sensors.
The more you cut the swamp the faster it will dry up so you cut it with a zero turn I have to push mower or weedeat next to my ditch for that same reason
Thanks Jeremiah, I thought so as well. We’ve been impressed by it. I had my doubts before. I actually started using it and yes, there could be some improvements like the ability to lift and cut, but it still does really well.
Hi Kids, I just got done with a two and half hour ride on my Grasshopper. The new robomower looks interesting. Hey, maybe the software could offer a "Kitty-Kut" that trims your neignbor's pesky cat. Or maybe offer a security sentineI function that could constsntly roam your property and return to base for automaric recharging. Anyway, I usually go for what I call a farmer's cut. This means that if the grass isn't tall enough to hide a snake, it's good to go. LOL I'm a retired electrical engineer and tech junkie. If you think the mower is great, just wait. AI is set to offer an amazing, if not, frightening, brave new world. Greatest impact since the harnessing of fire. i.e. How about a robot that cuts, splits and stacks firewood? "In The Year 2525" Hmmmm. Pretty good call. Hold on ! Shalom/gw. P.S. That mower would be a perfect application for my daughter's lawn.
It is crazy how rapidly technology is advancing! It’s definitely a neat tool and in the right applications could probably completely replace a traditional mower. We’ll have more testing coming soon.
Heath iiiii iiiii been thinking 🤔 great 👍 little robot mover for herding up my organic goats 🐐and kids , sheep 🐑 and lambs and meat 🥩 rabbits 🐇 plus moose . Somewhere 35 acres around fishing and hunting lodge to keep trim and cut . Another 30 acres around homestead to keep trim and cut . Move every two wks with a horse trailer my organic grass trimmer teams . Would you think 🤔 the robot mover herd things up if it was programmed Heath with coyotes call on its roof ?? 😊 remember THINK 🤔 SAFETY and always put SAFETY FIRST and always GO ORGANIC good for lawns plus in later fall you got yourself organic meats for the deep freezer. Plus Heath went cook over seasoned and dry clean BBQ firewood 🪵 is the key .😊😊 LIFE IS POOR IN THE 709 😢and LIFE IS GREAT IN THE 608 ! 😊
I totally understand that. It may be a viable option for some though. Around here it can be tough to find someone to cut your lawn. I mowed a yard for a friend for a while because they couldn’t get a lawn service to show up!
@@steakskinsgt3699 I pay under a 100$ a month to have a company mow trim and blow off my quarter acre property. I have yet to see a robot edge flat trim and blow off let along open my gate to get in my backyard.
It is not but when doing several acres along a wood line there’s a ton of tree roots and it kept getting broken by falling trees, branches, etc. Simply pressing play and driving the mower along the perimeter is much much easier!

I saw another video of this robot mower and they have a second model that allows for a taller cut height.
This is the taller cut height model. I had it on the lowest setting when it mowed the front circle.
Interesting 👍 I work 3rd shift and have a job where I get mandated overtime,so I can see how this would be a real positive.

Lol, yeah, I don’t imagine that would have gone over too well.
Nice unit. Be a better cut once you cut it once every 2 or 3 days. Amazing.
For sure! If you got the yard in shape and kept this thing running regularly I bet it would keep it really nice.

Jim, it definitely doesn’t handle the twigs well like a regular mower. It is definitely a pretty neat tool though.

Great, but how does it do on a steep slope? One third of my yard lays with a 25% to 30% slope. Plus $3000 is a lot of money. Ron USCG RET

Very cool Heath! Might be a good thing for camp.
I could definitely see it being a nice addition to the yard upkeep.
That thing is cool! I will have to get one of those when Evan goes off to college 😂 Take care Heath👊🏻🇺🇸
For sure! Replacing the kids with robots.
Heath, the robot mower will come in handy for those 🥵 humid days also while you’re inside in air conditioning 😮😊❤
For sure Todd! I’m not a fan of the hot humid days!

Good Lord! Does it fly too like a Star Wars droid? You can click 'the Depart' button! Forwarded this to my neighbor, who I mow for, for fun.
No flying model yet lol. It definitely has a lot of technology wrapped up in it though.

It worked pretty well. I’m sure it would do even better with a nicer lawn. Definitely did more than I expected it to.

I agree, it has a lot of technology built into it and was still really easy to use.
You were impressed but still not as fun as the new zero turn will be. 😂
Definitely wouldn’t replace a zero turn for us but is a great tool to add to the arsenal! Thanks Thomas.
What mower did you end up getting
We just checked out the last few we wanted to see and will have some update videos out soon, it is sweet though!!
I'm going to buy some pet goats to mowe my yard. Because gas prices are too high sometimes.
Rachel wants goats! Don’t give her any ideas lol.
Did the dealer help you out with your zero turn?
Yes, they bought it back. We have released a few update videos and are currently shopping for a new mower.

Thanks, leonard, not sure I could handle your terrain up there. You may have to rig one of your all-terrain vehicles to mow with a robot. GPS signal.
Now just rig up a weed and feed trailer for it and come home to a golf course.
For sure! We are going to whip this yard into shape this year and it definitely needs weed and feed!
