I like to say there isn't a right or wrong way. With full coverage, there are so many different ways to go about it and it's definitely a process that can evolve. I'm a cross country stitcher and I usually start at the top left corner, but not always. Sometimes I start the top right or in the center. Color completing like you're talking about is extreme cross country, which many people love. There are also many different ways to park and different combinations of parking and cross country that people use. It's really just trying different things and finding what works the best for you.

Little by little I’m learning this. I’m starting to enjoy the process more than trying to just finish a project. I think my stitching is slowly improving. So many tips and tricks! 😊

Happy Halloween, and happy day before your birthday! That skeleton and raven pillow is really cool and would an amazing price. “FFO” stands for fully finished object meaning that it’s ready to hang up or giveaway or whatever! I’d love to see your kitties when they walk in the room. Lol.

Thank you! I appreciate it. Yes! My daughter’s love of her life. I’ll take shorts or reels of her sometime when she’s playing outside of the cage. She’s fun!

Hi! I do a zig zag stitch on my fabric, I have a serger but have never used it. Was given to me from my mom. I have a lot of full coverage and I start mine top left corner I have the corner guide from Fat quarter Shop and measure down 2 1/2 inches from the corner. I also stitch in hand I pull my stitches to just lay on the fabric and not tug, I stitch on 14 count aida I started stitching in the 80's aida was all we had back in the day.

I’m a little late but I’m making my way through your videos….for full coverage, it’s easier to do color completion (finishing one color at a time) when you have pattern keeper because you can search a specific color and it highlights it throughout the whole pattern. I find doing cross country on full coverages focusing on one page to be easiest and faster than other methods

Yeah. I made a mess out of the one I’m doing. Trying to even it out. Off a row over and down.
😅 next one I start - I’m going to ask you before I start!
Did you figure out how to clear up space on your phone?

I did, someone suggested to go into my iCloud storage and save from there so I’m going to try that before getting a new phone

You do what feels good for you. Alot of people do 28+1 over two. But what you think it looks and feels good. Making mistakes is how we all learn. Go to fat quarter floss tube university. It is a teaching course for first time cross stitchers.

Any questions I can help most of the time. I'm not a linen stitcher, I'm aida and evenweave. Gets old vision not to good. Lots of light helps

An FFO is a fully finished object, meaning it is ready to display either as a framed piece to hang on a wall or a flat fold that is mounted on foam board or matte board and sits on a shelf. The orange edge on fabric means it is a Zweigart fabric. Traditionally 28 ct is equal to 14 ct. 28 would be 2 strands of floss over 2 strands of fabric. 32 ct is equal to 16 ct and 36 is equal to 18 ct. Some stitchers use 1 strand of floss over 2 strands of fabric on the 33 and 36 ct. This gives a more primitive look to the piece. There is no right or wrong way. Stitch how you normally do and if you don't like it, frog it and try again with one strand of floss. The main point of stitching is to enjoy the process. You stitch how you want to, whatever is comfortable for you, and how you want the piece to look. Some stitch one color to completion. Others stitch in a 10 x 10 block completion method. Others stitch left to right, and still others stitch right to left. There is no right or wrong or one way is better than another. Try not to worry over those details. There is the typewriter method where you stitch from left to right one half of the X (sometimes called the tent method) then return right to left stitching the second half of the X. Then there is the full X method (normally used with overdyed variegated floss) where you stitch each X individually. Hope this helps. -Tracy
