Loved this video. I’m an absolute sucker for toolkits (avoided just saying tools 😂😂😂😂😂 ) Hoping there are other women like me who love this video and the whole tool gathering. 👏👏👏
LOVE these types of vids where you go to non-tool stores and try to put a decent tool kit together. Maybe that little compartment in that hammer is for storing nails. You can find some strange things at garage / yard sales. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work with #shadowfoam
Just watched the £50 toolkit video. I lived in Northwich for 10 years and those two bargain shops were not there when I lived there. There was a DIY shop called Handy Jacks which closed down a while back . I would have loved to visit those bargain shops.
I've got a challenge for you: put together a camping tool kit for under £60. Complete with mallet, peg puller, fishing tools, BBQ utensils, etc. Maybe take it on a camping weekend and see how you get on 😊😊
Watching this video has inspired me to sort out my tools. Then I’m going to get some of your foam and cases. It’s so much easier to do any job, when your tools are where you can find them, and when you can’t you end up buying again. Big Thank You for your inspiration.
Hammer has that handle to put a set of nails in, then you can hit the edge and have a nail pull off the string, and then hit it into the wood. Used for framing when you need to do a lot of nails, but no air or power nailer around.
Some people are brand snobs but for a mixed bag it’s a great addition to anyone. Imagine getting that when u 1got your own house/flat. Looks a great tool box and all fits into a cupboard when you know where it all is. Should be a parent and child activity before they get their own place.
I like the small set of insulated drivers in the wee pouch. As for something missing from the kit I would suggest some kind of marking implement - pencil, french chalk, crayon, scriber or a Sharpie/ marker pen...... Lol lump of coal. Keep up the good work guys 💪🏻
My friend just moved into a new house and expressed interest in having a tool kit. She’s been curious about some of my tools, when I visited her once, I brought along an old-school tire pressure gauge to check her tires, which she thought was such a simple gadget but effective. When she asked what tool kit she should buy, I offered to put one together for her. She's really into recycling and prefers to have second-hand tools, and she specifically requested a tire pressure gauge. I ended up getting a budget-friendly Milwaukee toolbox, which seems like a perfect fit! Thanks for the inspiration, i'll be ordering some foam for the box soon, i do think she will need a small powered screwdriver , if you have any thoughts on that it would be good to hear
I have a Bosch tool case that I keep meaning to take to the dump as I no longer have the tool it came with. Thanks to your info I'll be breaking out my multi-tool to cut out the inside moulding. Thank you 👍
Shadow foam has given me the opportunity to combine my fathers, grandfathers and other families quality tools that ended up in messy boxes of junk! They now can be made up into sets of tools that means a lot and can be given to my children as well as nephews and nieces etc!! Endless possibilities for shadow foam and worth the price!!
Make up a tool kit that fits in the spare wheel in the boot of the car, with all the essentials for basic repairs on the side of the road. Be a fun little challenge, provided you've got a car with a spare wheel to build it into!
I’ve been watching your videos for a few months now and love all the organising and tool shopping challenges! Now going back and watching your older videos x would love this tool box for my brother! X
Good to see what you can do on a tough budget, as many people have to make every penny count. Bearing in mind it will inevitably have limitations, this has most basics covered for common small home repair and decorating tasks. Keeping as near as possible to the cutthroat brief, I'd add a tenon saw and a "Manchester spanner" i e. rubber mallet. You could introduce minor electrical diagnostics and repair by adding a cheap multimeter, and a pipe cutter to get started on plumbing. I like that multi-purpose sealant tool. If it works, a one-stop accessory for all those functions will save so much rummaging around.
Congratulations Matthew, you are one of the 5 winners of our giveaway! Please get in touch with my team at m.wood@shadowfoam.com to arrange delivery of your prize!
I love old tools, they are a different class and always try and get something unusual at a boot fair. Some nice finds there and thanks for the tip about the tool boxes I think that will be on the list.
I bought 4 MW Fuel interlocking tool casses for £30 and have used shadow foam in each of them. I have one full of my hammers, one for my jigsaw and blades. I even have 2 american 50 cal ammo boxes with an Angle Grinder in one and all my bolster chisels and club hammer in the other. They are brilliant. Got a Dewalt box that hold my B&D rotary sander with all its sanding disc too.
The hammer is a very nice one and is great in the hand. The sealant remover is one the tools you never have but need at some time as a homeowner 😊👍🏼 Love the videos 🇬🇱
I love these challenges, a fantastic watch and the passion/enthusiasm for bargains and unique tools shines through.......can never have enough tools! Also love that these sorts of tools potentially get a second wind. As you said that'd serve someone well.
Only just found your channel, and im really enjoying some of your content. I also think it is really cool how often you do giveaways. As a makita fan, those cases are a great find. Keep up the good work 👍
Thats a great shopping and tool collection you have put together and revalued all the tools to their original price, hope to buy these shadowfoams soon. We are watching you from other side of the world - New Zealand 👍🏻
You did amazing for £50, and I way you boxed it up with the foam in the box was excellent. I need to get hold of a couple of those Makita cases for my ever growing toolkit
Combination square looks really good and the screw drivers are much better looking quality than you could get in your average new screwdriver set. Really impressed with everything you got for £50. You missed a trick in this video, you should have put your burger in shadow foam 😂😂 love the videos, keep up the good work. Maybe do a video of a budget toolkit made up from tools from Facebook marketplace?
I’ve been buying stuff from the guy that refurbishes the tools for a few years now. I’m surprised how much the value of them has increased since before Covid. Good tools more than doubling in value. Really enjoying this channel. I think your shadow foam is a brilliant product. Like the toolbox tip too 👌🏻
For 50 pound you can’t go wrong with that…!!!! 👊Bargain I will need to go to my local carboot sale, as I’m starting to build up my own tool collection, and watching your channel, well that’s gave me the tool bug 😂 😂 and the thought of using your shadow foam inside a tool box, well that would be the icing on the cake for me 🎂 cool as can be👌 I’m a new subscriber and I’m loving the content, so keep them uploads coming 😎
Hi Jonathan, you certainly created a great kit for £50.00. You also got some great deals as always. Best tool was the trim shears. Thanks see you on the next one.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I feel like one of them car booty sellers with all the tools in my sheds that i,m never gonna use, gave me a great idea to put my own kits together to give to my grandsons for xmas using shadow foam of course ....cheers pal love your enthusiasm 👍🏴
Loved the car boot visit, and those Makita boxes were a total bargain! But what I really really loved were that set of watch makers screwdrivers in the leather case, they were an amazing find. They looked like vintage Steadfast ones, but couldn't tell.
Liked this one as it shows you don't need to spend a fortune to get started. I also took you tip and went to look in the discount range on ITS and ordered some DeWalt cases for £5 each absolute bargain. Great tip and also ordered some other stuff!!! Keep the videos going 👍.
Now that $50 challenge would be hard to beat. You found and packed a boat load of tools in that case. I like how you repurposed the Makita case. Would like to see a prosumer kit done. Happy trails 🙏
Great £50 kit shows you don’t need to spend a fortune, to get a decent kit , also what a great tip for the storage boxes I’ve got a few Milwaukee ones that just sit there doing nothing so I’m going to give it a go and make a few sets that can be taken to and from work easily, Thanks Jonathan for another video.
Just came across the channel mate, the algorithms working well 👍 loved the video and shows what you can get if you hunt around. Great to see so many British tools that will last. Subscribed and hit the button mate. Take care
That's a great set! I'd be well happy with that for £50! I think I'd probably have to add a tape measure though, but that's just personal preference. Great watch as usual, thanks!
This is great! My step father did something similar for me when I lost my husband. I actually still have it. Love the Makita idea and a major bargain. In terms of car boot bargain, that American style pick/ brick hammer is a steal.
Great video I actually found a couple of snap-on spanner’s, quite a while ago and the square was a good find especially, with it being a cast one and not the flimsy aluminium ones that are all over the place now 👍👍
There’s something special about finding quality tools at a car boot sale. You never know what hidden gems you’ll come across, and often, they’re well-made, durable pieces with plenty of life left in them. It’s a great way to build up your toolkit without breaking the bank, plus you get the satisfaction of giving these tools a second chance at being put to good use!
Love the budget tool kits, thought you did really well with this one. Looking forward to seeing the pink tool kit. been waiting ages for it to come out. i know snap on did a full range of pink tools. very expensive. may you do a tool kit for a boat. or a camping tool kit with a compass, stove and tin opener., and some way to charge a phone solar panel, lighter, and one of them pound flash light.
You've just given me an idea for a Christmas present for my daughter, who's just bought her first house that needs a bit of DIY TLC. I'll be looking out for the Pink tools video, too 👍

You got a great tool kit together there! 😀 I have built up a fairly decent wood working tool set from several carboot sales, my fave find being a wooden block plane and a nice old wooden mallet for just £3 for the pair. Both will be getting a light restoration in order to keep the patina. Perhaps a wood working tool challenge would make for a good vid!?!
Car boots are great for cheap tools that are usually pretty good quality too..... Love the old style Stanley knife, last for years, still use my dad's one from the 60's!
I rate that I'm just starting out so might have to take up the challenge I think the level is the best good accurate levels are expensive great video bro👊💯
That grout removal tool is for silicon removal and then you can smooth it out with the different smoothing rubbers on the end of the tool handle.😊😊 the 5in 1 was your best buy without any doubt.😊😊😊 To me the only thank you never got was a wood saw but I never seen any so I’ll let you have that one.😂😂😂😂😂
Would love to have one of those Makita boxes to gift to my dad cos his broke a while ago and he has been using some string to hold it together. Also nice to see so many quality Sheffield made tools as we Sheffield resident. As always enjoyed the video
Am I mistaken or did two sheets of Shadow Foam at £27 :99 a pop cost more than the entire tool kit?
Loved this video. I’m an absolute sucker for toolkits (avoided just saying tools 😂😂😂😂😂 ) Hoping there are other women like me who love this video and the whole tool gathering. 👏👏👏
Haha glad you enjoyed it 👍
as a sheffield resident its really nice to see the old school quality tools still going, its half the reason i got into engineering!
I don’t think you’ll ever truly stop seeing them, something about their quality that will just keep getting passed on generation to generation

I've just become a homeowner - you've inspired me to park my Amazon shopping cart and try the car boots first!

Not bad for £50.00. I've bought many of my wood-turning tools from car boot sales. You can save a fortune.
Absolutely! What do you think the best bargain I got was?
@@JonaShoneThe guy at the bargain shop giving you the extra dollar off was pretty sweet. Love it when vendors are caring like that.

The “hand made knife” is a glazers tool for removing old putty. I got the exact same one 40 years ago when I was an apprentice.
Called a hacking knife in the gas industry, used for cleaning pitch off steel mains.
