  • The Mag Darter Blues - BLUEFISH & FLUKE - Waiting on Tide Storm & Rain. Wait, the only thing you need to do. Thats what I had to do. Waiting on the storms, the tide, the rain, and of course the bluefish. I knew there were a few bluefish out there. While playing around with the Mag Darter I almost pulled out a nice fat keeper fluke. The summer flounder must have swam up a good 10 feet to eat it. A few robins soon after kept it busy along with a walk and finally a couple of bluefish I was looking for. Wait, many things in life are as such and all of them good.

    Hi Jerry, That fluke was a surprise. You know I love my Sea Robins. I'm glad you have some nice size Blues in the surf. No Sea Robins down here, just the Sail Cats everywhere. I went to the beach but it was too windy. So far I've only been fishing in the bay. The bay is called the "Indian River Lagoon" down here but it's the "Bay" to me. Take care and good luck, Mickey

    That's pretty cool Jerry! I've never used one of those before. What's the mag Darters unique attributes? That was a nice fluke that went for a dive 😬 was out yesterday and was very pleased with the amount of blues over 5 or 6 lbs and a couple pushing 10 lbs. 2 oz hammered spoons no dressed hook. Dressed hooks = short strikes. And big chunks worked well on the open beach for big blues with some skates and huge dogs that looked like mini bull sharks lol you've taught me well, absolutely killed it! Had a monster blue on a third of a bunker for a while until the line above my wire leader got bit off. I'm guessing another fish??? Is it me or are the horseshoes really big out there now? Saw some Mambos. I took a buddy out who never surf fished and he had a riot out there. Wound up giving out a bunch of bunker to struggling fishermen on the beach who watched the show lol one guy turned my bunker head I gave him into a chopper and a half! Haven't seen a fluke yet.... Might have to pack light and take a walk into the back. Can I get a night permit at the coast guard station? I'd like to see what the night has to offer.... Keep it up, thank you for the teachings, always looking forward to your videos, and all the best to you Jerry!

      Hi Joseph! Thanks! They are pretty neat lures. Like a darter kinda just sits there. Slight cranks darts backs forth but steady slow, hard to describe. Wow! Thanks awesome sounds like you had a great day on the water! You may have had a shark bite off but mostly a big blue. The pass goes on sale again labor day first run on sale I thin in Jan they close. Flukes are just rolling in should be more soon!

    • @BaldyFade
      @BaldyFade 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They’ll take mag darters and sp minnows for sure, pretty rare I’ve always had it happen in the surf. Flukes mouths can open pretty big you’d be surprised the baits they can eat.

    • @FishYourWay
      @FishYourWay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question Jim, I thought of that he had to come up high off the bottom based on where he took it had to be about 12-16 feet of water at the end of the cast! it was preety neat!

      @@liftedpotato6973 I don’t want to catch them. And if I did I usually use them for bait. Usually get them when porgy or fluke fishing. And they are a nuisance. But when the trip is over and I’m filleting the fish I always check the stripers stomach contents and pretty consistently there are sea robins in there. Whatever is left of them. Usually just the armor skull plate is all that’s left but very recognizable

    • @FishYourWay
      @FishYourWay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They love sea robins specially the smaller ones like candy!
