What is a MOBA?
Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, or MOBAs for short, originated as a sub-genre of the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre. Because of this, in most MOBA games, the player takes control of a single character from the isometric (top-down) view akin to most RTS games. Typically, in MOBA games, a player takes control of a single character on one of two teams. Those players choose characters that all have their own abilities, or “kits”. To win, the players must use a combination of abilities, teamwork, and strategy to not only best their opponent, but destroy the opponents main structures. A bonus to the genre is that most MOBAs are free games, which is definitely a contributing factor of the their massive success. The genre has many titles, the largest of which being Defense of the Ancients (DoTA) and DoTA 2, League of Legends (LoL), and most recently SMITE!
What is SMITE?
SMITE is one of the more recent free MOBA games to enter the fray. In SMITE you don’t just choose a character, you choose a god. You’ll instantly feel an attachment to characters like Thor and Zeus because even if you don’t know the lore behind them, you’ve at least heard their names before! What makes SMITE so immersive is Hi-Rez Studios’ inclusion of historical lore into the gods’ abilities, kits, and play styles. Thor and Loki aren’t just characters from Marvel comics and movies. They’re also a part of Norse mythology and you can take control of them in SMITE!
What makes SMITE different?
SMITE takes all of the strategy of the top MOBA games and adds another layer of difficulty by putting you into the action! Unlike most MOBA games, SMITE offers players the chance to experience the MOBA genre they know and love from a third-person perspective. This unique perspective allows for an extremely immersive experience unlike any other game in the genre. While this doesn’t sound like such a big change, once you play it you’ll understand! All of these things added together is what has gaming websites everywhere continually rating SMITE as one of the best MOBA games available! - เกม

I like THIS! Instead of just giving the origin story of the God. Writing about the god in the smite universe makes these videos much more interesting even if it's for a short while.

That's pretty specific, considering he has his choice of not 1 but 6 other possible orifices to wriggle into.
+Charm its based on his lore where if you were struck by lighting it was because Raijin was trying to wake up Raiju who likes to hide in peoples navels (its why its considered bad luck to sleep belly up during a storm).

+Proximuhtyz HD hi rez wants to have the Xbox updates within a week of PC updates for the Xbox Smite Pro League. Not sure why Xbox players should have to wait, we put in just as many hours and enjoy the game just as much as PC playera
+Brian Walker their main focus is PC. It has the higher player base and so more money. But since the Xbox and how they deal with it isn't up to them Microsoft controls it not them. Because they can control PC. They can do what they want a lot faster

I've been sticking to LoL lately, but Smite has come a long way ever since I stopped playing. I remember it always be really fun though, and that's one thing it always had over LoL. It was always fun. It had a great and cool style, and was great for casual play. The characters had personality. You could even have fun when you were losing, and that's not something you see in a game everyday. Maybe I should consider coming back. I miss this game.

So many noobs saying this guy is op...he is not. He is balanced/ i dare to say he is at the weak side of mages.
As someone who has been playing for almost 3 years this game: no, Raiju isn't OP, but he's in the need of nerf. He's supposed to be a frontline Mage, but he doesn't have enough protections nor a heal to mesh with it, yet he has the highest scalings for Mage in the game, meaning a good Raijin will build full damage unlike others frontline mages like Zhong who are going to buy some defense instead of full damage.

I just hope they don't go overkill with the nerfs like they did with Sol and Khepri... Aside from that, Rajin looks like fun.

+Regan Bell I feel like Khepri was nerfed really too much. Sol needs damage reduction on that ability that used to slow.

+animehbkscm It's likely and I really hope to also see him, but that doesn't guarantee his appearance in the game. There have been multiple siblings and gods appearing in lore videos that aren't in the game. This doesn't mean they won't appear but can't be guaranteed either.
+MeiaLua if you have ever seen lore on fujin then you'd know that they look very similar anyways, fujin is just green and has different clothes. in lore they look like twins anyway. and he's different enough to make a fun god out of that is separate from raijin. but i do think fujin will come way later

I think a lot people see Enel or the Teen Titans variant of Raijin, which I think was just called Lightning (now that I think about it, he may have been based on something else entirely). If they intended to add Fujin then they should have made him the skinny to Fujin's fat, both muscular and terrifying but one leaner and the other stocky. Good compare and contrast, like Ravana and Kumbhakarna though that may be a reason for them to avoid doing it again.
This could simply be taken as proof they aren't going to add Fujin since he seems to be an exact copy of Raijin at the moment but no telling with them, I mean look at Herc's head. I'll admit I was initially upset too but all the comedy gold mined from it since has more than accommodated for the shrinkage.
+AthenaWhisper But you can still make big and scary looking guy look good in-game. His current model is TOO bulky. He looks very slow and clunky. They could've made his movements and his model more smooth, without making him look sleeker.
Saba Bibilashvili Look at him. He's supposed to look big and strong, but in-game he looks...squared. And small. Seriously he looks like an angry demon midget. They could've made him look big and bad without making him look so clunky and compressed. The way he walks looks very forced as well. He is still a god, so his movements should look more...godlike. Maybe make him walk like Agni or make small thunderclouds appear at his feet as he walks around.
About his drawings depicting as overweight...well, in-game he also doesn't look that well-built to me. They added bulkiness but they didn't add size. They need to make him bigger as in taller so that he actually looks like a big bad demon god. Right now he looks funny. Look at those tiny drums...they look adorable...not very intimidating at all. Look I'm gonna be honest with you. You know what a bear is, right ( You KNOW what kind of bear I mean)? They should've made him look like one. Maybe give him a musclegut or just make him look buff. Then he'd really look like a badass demon god and not an angry little baby drummer. I also think his skills look really underwhelming they should look way more powerful. His first skill looks pathetic...you call that lightning? His Raiju skill also looks kinda underwhelming...
That's a pretty interesting ultimate.

I just started playing Smite on PS4 today (used to play it on PC but never really got invested in it since I would usually be preoccupied with playing League with my friends) and as a challenge I bought 400 gems and randomly selected two gods I would commit to mastering...Raijin and Fenrir were those two.

Is it me or have the lore sections gotten a lot better over years
I find using life-steal works really well with his 1 and his ultimate so I normally pick up Bancroft's or Pytagorem's

i guess he should have a animation during the jump skill and the ult should have a fourth drum, or each skill should represent one drum.
my build: shoes of the magi, bancroft, soul reaver, rod of tahuti, spear of deso, and then a situation item, usually mantle.
His ult is so nice.

I found a glitch with Rajin sometimes through I dont know what circumstances if you ult some glitch will happen and then on your ability bar 1 2 3 wont come back it will be dark spots in place of the abilitys casting nothing... you have to ult again to regain the abilitys.................

Reminds me a bit of Jhin from League of Legends, Anyone else? Passive: 4 stacking attacks, First ability: Linear Skillshot stopping at enemy champion Second Ability: Damages one enemy and bounces around nearby enemy targets Ultimate: Fires 4 long range shots stopping at enemy.
Getting a pretty cool Raiko feeling from this. (Then again, Raiko was inspired from this god.)
It'll be cool if his ultimate made like a global rumbling thunder noise for all to hear.

I for some reason saw raijin has a god that would attack twice as fast but deal half the dmg with each attack so he attacks more but the dmg stayes the same and the skill set was so looking forward to raiju being a thunder pet that was constantly active and not attack but when activating W the thunder cat would charge like a beast :( sad panda face
