Transcendence was a top 10 metal album in the 80's. Sure this pop-oriented tune was meant to attract the chicks, but the rest of the album summed up almost everything that is good about modern metal.
Tremendous song. Pretty much underrated. I think in the 80s people didn't take them seriously because of their funny glam/hair metal outlook. But their music was certainly not that type, they deserved a way more recognition. I've been listening to heavy metal music at least from last 17-18 years , I just discovered crimson glory couple of years back ! Such underrated they are !
Um…that WAS the 80s, minus the masks. I think that might have been the problem. Just think…a few years later, GWAR, Mushroomhead, Slipknot - CG masks look pretty tame in comparison!

R.I.P. Midnight, I can't believe you are gone.. I will miss you buddy and I will never stop playing your records like I have done since I was a kid.... Goodbye.....
Notice that this single version uses synths, replacing the heavy rhythm guitars found on the album version, and is also shorter. Like the added backing vocals at the end though.

I remember hearing this song while living in Florida. A local Panama City station would carry the Z-Rock heavy metal broadcast out of Dallas. I remember Lonely set one of the records for staying #1 on their weekly Top 50 countdown for like 2 or 3 months. Also, one DJ had people calling in to try their hand at singing the song like he did to try and win free prizes. Ah, the fond memories. Not to mention the girls all loved this song too.
GENIUS - Episode 1: A Human Into Dreams' World, 2002.

She awakens from a dream to a silent room
Where shadows speak of memories
Another sleepless night,
Afraid to face the day
It seems so long ago she shared the love
She feels so deep inside
Her love will never die
But still she feels so lonely
Lonely in Love
Lonely in Love
She wakes up to another day
With everything going wrong
She wonders where she would be
If she had never seen his face
She turns on the radio,
But it's playing that same old song
She's pouring another drink
To drown away the memory of it all
She can't wait another night
Take another day
She doesn't want to be
Lonely in Love
Lonely in Love
There's a feeling she can't explain
That no one can understand
She just needs to get away
But there's nowhere that she can go
Tomorrow's so far away
She's longing for yesterday
If she could just turn back time
She wants to leave the world behind
She can't wait another night
Take another day
She doesn't want to be
Lonely in Love
Lonely in Love
Lonely in Love
Lonely in Love
The night will fade, the sun will shine
A new day
And light the way for you to find
New Love

Midnight is INCREDIBLE!!! Easily one of the top 5 metal vocalists ever, in my opinion. This song doesn't even touch his greatness.
"In death I've found the answer
In death I live again
Fear not the reaper's blade
It does not mean the end
It never really ends"

Lyrics / Letras
She awakens from a dream to a silent room
Where shadows speak of memories
Another sleepless night,
Afraid to face the day
It seems so long ago she shared the love
She feels so deep inside
Her love will never die
But still she feels so lonely...
Lonely in love
She wakes up to another day
With everything going wrong
She wonders where she would be
If she had ever seen his face
She turns on the radio,
But it's playing that same old song
She's pouring another drink
To drown away the memory of it all
She can't wait another night
Take another day
She doesn't want to be
Lonely in love
There's a feeling she can't explain
That no one can understand
She just needs to get away
But there's nowhere that she can go
Tomorrow's so far away
She's longing for yesterday
If she could just turn back time
She wants to leave the world behind
She can't wait another night
Take another day
She doesn't want to be
Lonely in love
The night will fade, the sun will shine
A new day
And light the way for you to find
New love
Awesome band! Ya gotta love the musicianship and Midnite's pipes! Styles come and go but the music is what matters above it all.
Your voice will haunt us forever ... Rip :(

R.I.P.
I got this album for my 18th in 1989. Midnight was unique - yes like others but so much himself. I love the bass playing in this song, too. Good album, good musicians and Midnight was perfect for this band. RIP.
R.I.P Midnight!!! I will never forget the time we spend together!!
We are lonely without CG...
Ladies and gentlemen: the one and only Midnight. ❤
2021 still here, love this song
Anyone notice there are background vocals towards the end (3:50) that are on this video but not on the album version of the song? I wonder if this is a radio edit or something.
