I relate so much. Less is more in all areas of life. It took me 50 years to get here thou. I have no girlfriend, no friends, no sex life, very few possessions and im the happiest person i ever knew. I live in a community of families and their all bored and miserable and have everything and are boggled in their minds why im so happy and at peace alone. I think they think im.a serial killer, lol. I love it because they all stay away from me. It took alot of work to get here thou. I had to go through the deepest parts of hell. I had to have it all myself, including the perfect body and all to realize none of it makes me happy and to not care anymore is the secret. When i say not care i dont mean to not care about myself. I prioritize my physical health because that is the most valuable thing we have but that doesnt mean having the body of a greek god like i used to. And i do have biological family that i cherish and love with all my heart and would do anything for. And when i said i have no friends i lied. I do have 2 but we rarely see each other. They have busy family lives that drain them and both men assure me that im not missing out by not having a wife. Their wives stress them to the gills and their never happy. But those men would be there for me and vice versa if need be.

One of the biggest traps I fell into was buying into the mindset (that I found on TH-cam) that if you're not getting up at 4am and busting your ass until you go to bed, you're wasting your life. They'd say "You are exactly where you're supposed to be due to your efforts." I thought they were right, that I wasn't successful in life because I wasn't trying hard enough in their terms. I quickly became stressed out and overwhelmed by how much I thought I had to do in a day just to feel like I was grinding enough. (I also thought that my family was disappointed in me for not being well off like they were. But that was all in my head. They didn't think that at all.) It didn't take long for me to give up on that load of bs.

Very much like you I love the tiny house videos and people who are happy with what they need and some entertainment but not trying to just hoard material things.

My friend works with this girl in the Government who has been in her position for about 10 years (An entry level position), where she works with this online program that she's learned from top to bottom.
She's been offered numerous promotions, which obviously include more money as well as more work and responsibility, but she's turned every one of them down.
She just enjoys coming into work, zoning out for 8 hours working with the program where she makes her $800 a week and doesn't care to move beyond that. It takes care of her monetary needs and she's happy.

Thank you. We face a lot of pressure to stay busy all the time. Success to me has become figuring out how to save a little at a time while remaining fed and housed, but also to afford the luxury of time when I need to rest. It has taken sacrifice, to be sure, but mainly it’s been about prioritizing myself and paying attention to the signals my body and psyche send me.

Absolutely love this video. Although I would consider myself to be quite ambitious, it does help to question the why behind my doing. I've had to turn down opportunities that did not truly speak to the joy in my heart, but rather would have looked good to others on paper. It's tough, because of the ambition and wanting of "success", but you're right, it is not everything, and in fact, it's hardly anything. I really appreciate you and the wisdom and comfort your videos hold. Thank you!

At 35, the way success looks to me is just simply not worth the hassle and stress. I'd rather enjoy the simple things in life, work my 9-5, and build my financial freedom/independence. To be honest, I'm actually quite happy with what I have, but I would like to eventually buy my own home. I am going to inherit my parents home with my brother, but I would like to get my own place for myself as well, but I'll be happy staying where I am for now.

In my humble opinion, this advice is "nice" to hear when times are good, but when times are bad, which they will be very soon (economically speaking) then people with no assets will regret not working to achieve anything. Just my opinion. You made a lot of great points in this video, I just wanted to put that out there.

Hey Tim. Recently came across your channel. Appreciate you man!
Not sure if you’ve touched on this in one of your videos but, if not, here’s an idea for you.
I’ve been focusing a lot on some of my hobbies lately: pickleball, tennis, hiking. Sometimes I find myself subconsciously feeling bad about myself since I’m spending so much time on these activities rather than doing something “important”.
And that got me thinking how truly ridiculous it is that we view the act of trading our time for money as the most legitimate way to live our lives. Like, if I’m hiking for money, then it’s okay. So sad.
Anyways, I just thought this was something you could maybe share your thoughts on.
Hope you’re having a great day dude!! 😊

Its ok to just live life. No one was given an instruction manual on how to live life the "right" way. People in many countries dont even have jobs yet live longer lives, healthier and don't get hate from their peers for just "being".
