There are so many raunchy Santa movies today, trying to obliterate the true spirit of Christmas. This music keeps its meaning alive. Also, excellent article by Naomi Wolf: I Remember the REAL Christmas.
Was among my most despised Christmas gifts when this was new, and I was young (Christmas music received on Christmas Day). Became a favorite. Still a treasure to me now. So good to find it here as I do not keep a turn table connected these days.
It's CHRIST his birth we celebrate. Very holy songs. Today, Dec 26th is the feast of St. Stephen. 🙏 The 2nd song on here, honors him. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! ⛪️ 🔔 🕊 🕯 🙏 🎄 from, Long Island, NY. 🇺🇸
This is Christmas music i can dig. Don't want stupid holiday music. And this isn't overproduced or saccharine or tacky, just a very professional sounding choir.
Agreed. Regardless of personal beliefs or observances, there's a dignity and sanctity to this that is sorely lacking in contemporary holiday radio music.
Thank you so much, for uploading this beautiful album! It is very nostalgic for me. I truly appreciate its good audio quality, and especially for including the liner notes.

Absolutely charming and perfect for the Christmas Eve! Always a pleasure to hear Alfred Deller, one of my father's favourite musicians

I remember this one! My parents had it at home. Or we would check it out from the Public Library. Nice !
My parents had it, too. It was played every Christmas for years.

Looking for Musical Heritage Society "Christmas in the Great Rhiems Cathedral." Please let me know if you know of it.
That sounds like my kind of stuff.
