@@arthurkatahdin9502 Especially the release on your first throw looked off and you still threw almost 40'. That second throw though, I knew you won before the shot even left your hand. Your explosive glide and release were on point - you move too fast for me to make out your footwork, I'll take your word on that point 😂
Wow. It was such a blast to make it out to Nick’s event, I’m so glad I was able to make it! Seems like I'm somewhat decent at throwing lol. I had so much fun I made a vlog about it on my channel too.
I’m a decent thrower, 50 in shot and 170 in disc. But I LOVE this. It’s awesome to see people throw who never have before, it’s even more fun to see him say “good technique” even when it’s a scratch. That’s just awesome encouragement. Thanks for putting this on man
I wonder what kind of waivers they had to sign before the event. I've never been seriously injured while throwing, but I'm sure a few of them walked away with some ulnar nerve pain even with just a single throw, and you always know it when you open up a little early on that release. 🤣

But to reiterate; these fun, casual events don't follow strict T&F rules, speaking as a USATF certified official, I think about everyone would have been DQ'd at some point for false starts, lane violations, etc. Including Nick! (I saw what you did there...😉). I think it's cool that he added field events, and out of the throws, the shot was probably the least problematic. I'm looking forward to the Decathlon Showdown, but I think it should be a speed-decathlon, with all events taking place in under 4 hours!

For some reason this made me confident because next Tuesday I’m doing shotput against another school and I’m the only girl doing it at my school and I’m excited but also scared cause this is my first time doing this but this video has helped me get more confident

I used to throw the 12lb for fun in practice as a skinny runner (not thrower) so in college I said no big deal, I got this! Boy did that 16lb in college feel so much heavier then 12lb.
I would have thought it was painful to watch if this was your event. I felt silly just holding it and tried to do what I thought it was supposed to look like.
