It's so annoying when people talk on the phone while a movie is playing. It's harder to pay attention to the movie when that particular moviegoer's phone conversation is getting in the way of me hearing the movie.

I had to put my hand up at the side of my face while he had his phone conversation because the light from his phone was distracting me while I was watching the movie.
Worst is when you meet with someone and they just go on their phone for several minutes not even doing anything important. I get it if you have to quickly take care of smth or whatever, takes a couple minutes and we can get back to conversing. But if we met up, and they suddenly scroll through IG photos outta nowhere, I just question how humanity came to this point
People are incredibly horrible these days, they're rude, obnoxious, inconsiderate, aggressive and they're always on their phones, they can't even walk without being on their phones and not looking at where they're going!!😡 My town Peterborough is the worst town in the world, the people of this town are pure evil, it drives me CRAZY!!! Everyone and their dog blasts music full volume in their car as they are driving on the road for christ sake! There I voiced my anger with people too!

Cell phones have destroyed society. I agree. I work in a large state building and the amount of people that are walking around with their heads down in their cell phones not paying attention to anything going on around them or if they're going to plow into somebody. And on the occasion where you do bump into someone that's preoccupied on their phone, they look at you like you're the issue that you should have moved out of their way. Unbelievable.
A few months ago I went to a Bruce Hornsby concert at a nearby small casino. Back row. Cheap ticket, plus I got a free CD set with it. ...I mean, I understand why now: it was literally just him and a piano and not even a backdrop on the stage. However, near the beginning, I tried to take 2 photo snaps with my phone, and was promptly reprimanded by security behind me, "NO RECORDING!" Ok, chill dude. ....But then, ten minutes later, several of the security guards are having a full blown conversation at normal volume level for something close to 5 minutes. I think they finally stopped after my third time looking back (or maybe I had to say something; I can't recall). Now, this was a pretty boring concert, unfortunately. But to make matters worse, in the final 40 minutes, the too-old-to-be-hooked-on-social-media couple to my left started both, one after the other, reviewing their Facebook statuses. At least she attempted to cover her phone every now and then. But Chumpy McGoo had his screen up full brightness with large text mode on, and absolutely no concern over who sees it. --Just nuts. And this shows it's not just the younger crowd that has become oblivious to their manners-free, situationally inappropriate usage of modern technology. 😅
The phone thing is annoying. Every day now on the train now someone will be playing their phone at top volume, just annoyingly scrolling through 10 second TH-cam shorts. It's obnoxious. But people are increasingly rude in general. The other day I was in a line getting on to a bus, one by one paying to get on the bus, and this girl just moves up the line to get to the front. I said...what do you think we're doing? We're just standing here? You're more important than us? I find it crazy how rude and entitled people are now.
It’s hard for me to even sit at a restaurant because of how loud people are. I’ve had so many experiences ruined thanks to other people. If they’re not on their damn phones, they’re being obnoxious or talking loud
People are just ignorant AF in general. If you work at an office, just think of all the loud ranting and gossip that travels through the hallways. My kids don't even act like that when I'm working from home. Three forths of the drivers here are either on their phones or high.

I remember I was meeting a client for a freelance project that I was working on. When he finally showed up late we sat down and he immediately took a call on his phone. I just sat there in disbelief for like 5-10 minutes as he was answering his phone. Then he got up and when I showed him the pieces I was working on, the dude was SCROLLING on his phone. I felt like a tired parent trying to get his kid to pay attention. It’s like “You’re a grown ass man. The least you can do is show a shred of decency and professionalism and stop acting like some bored teenager.” I ended up leaving the project eventually. I found out that the other guy working on the project left too. Honestly not that surprised
The worst is when they have iPhone max versions and it’s basically as loud as a Bluetooth speaker. I’m at a restaurant and the person next to us is blasting music.
This is like when I’m at the gym and people break the rule that you have to wear clothes in the sauna. My coworker is the guy who has to tell people to put at least shorts on, and he said it’s a weird chat.
I just returned from a trip to California that involved airports and theme parks so yeah, I feel ya'. I was run over by people on their phones more often than the strollers and scooters. It's like, dude, you paid at least 200 bucks just to get in here -- look around you! And customer service is so terrible everywhere now, that the bare minimum would earn you a good tip. Smile, make eye contact, enunciate your words, and please don't forget my straw at the drive-thru. If an introvert with crippling social anxiety like me can do it, anyone can.
I've seen a few electronic music concert videos on TH-cam, and you just see a bunch of lit up screens in the audience raised in the air recording it. They all look like a bunch of NPC's!
My work breakroom is a cacophony of random tik tok videos and it drives me crazy. I don't understand why people even watch 30 second videos on repeat in the first place, but to force all of us to suffer is a crime.

It happens with parents playing some game for the kids all the time to I guess keep them silent, but ironically, it make so much noise it is even worse than the child rattling. I wouldn't watch my phone on the toilet unless maybe it is in the privacy of my own home, and I would only do that b/c I live solo. I admit I very occassionally go on my phone if the movie is boring, but, only if there is like a couple of people in the cinema and I am far away from all of them. This is usually when I go see a movie that is much older in cinema and at a truly off time, and I keep brightness very very low. Very seldom however.

Vertical scrolling is fight or flight, the brain doesn't care if you are scrolling vertically or if a lion is coming to eat you...the same chemicals are released.. adrenaline... cortisol ect. Rest and digest is more horizontal eye movement similar to being out in nature and looking our into ghe horizon. Now imagine being stuck in fight or flight with a cell phone in your face since the age of 2...yeah...you are screwed. .wait.til.your.brain is done forming and you are stuck in fight or flight for life
For all that people complain about the kids and their phones, it's always the older people that are most obnoxious. No one I know under 30 has their sound on but I've lost count of the number of times and old person's phone has blasted the default ringtone at full volume during church. (And I don't even go that often.) What's worse, half of the time they answer it and start a conversation! Also I've definitely had the experience of being in the same train car as an older person blasting a fire and brimstone sermon, ughhh.

So, moving to the back of the theater does not help with volume. Saw a 10:35pm showing of Love Lies Bleeding, there was only one other person and they were seated in the absolute back. I like to be closer, so I was 4 rows from the front. The movie was very enjoyable, and I was surprised by how much I liked it. That joy left me about 30-45mins to the end. The person in the back began watching some sort of tiktok blog or TH-cam channel. It had to have been at max volume to overcome the theater's surround sound and gap of about 10-15 rows of seats. Basically, it ruined the back half of the movie. And while I know the movie has its issues, I feel like I can't accurately assess the movie. Did I like the ending? Was it bad? Or was I just so pissed off by the time the credits rolled that I missed out on an excellent ending?
That's insanely rude. When I said "move to the back"; I meant for people that are on their phones with no volume. Just so that their stupid little screens don't ruin it for others. Even then, if others are in the back row, it's also rude. So, overall, people are jerks and shouldn't be on them during a movie. As for the movie; I watched it uninterrupted. That ending sucked! The flick was great up until the last 5 minutes!
One guy in our lounge during breaks and lunch we have a tv in there we trying to watch Fallout he blast his shit about Trump and or sexual assault case like dude!!?? But we say anything so no problems, but I feel you
