Great video. This is identical to the scenario I need to solve for. My biggest challenge is the distance of the HDMI run to my Sonos Arc. I need about 15 ft after routing through walls and ceiling. I’ve read that this distance is problematic. Any thoughts? If only Apple TV would support signal other than stereo for Airplay audio output to Sonos… 🙁

i am still in the thinking about a beamer stage. But my main concern is that the Soundbar and Projector are far appart. The soundbar schould be were the picture is and that would mean alot of cable in the living room. or am i missing something?

i had a appel TV connected to my beamer and airplayed the sound to my sonos set up (arx, ones, sub). Worked for a few years but now some issues. First I have to connect airpods and then i can connect the spreakers through airplay

Thanks for the video. Bought the matrix hdmi extractor, but the app doesn’t detect the signal using the SONOS App

It works if all the items are located close to one another, but what to do if the Sonos speakers are located on the other side of the room? E.g. if they are Bluetooth. Looking for ideas

Great video. I have a question; can we connect two “Move 2” with stereo pairing and connect it to the projector with bluetooth?

Good stuff. Question: If I buy a matrix switcher with 2 HDMI out (eARC), would that work too?

If I have a Sonos Connect at the back of the room, and connect it to the rear projector and apple tv, will it connect wirelessly to my Sonos Playbar?

Love Sonos but the Sony A7000 wins for a projection setup soundbar. 2 HDMI INs for gaming consoles or set top boxes and 1 HDMI OUT to go to the projector. No need for a matrix or expensive HD Fury Arcana or VRROOM.

I agree. Hopefully Sonos Arc Gen 2 will address the lack of HDMI Inputs

    Great content thank you!
Do you think with a unique streaming device that is Apple TV, using AirPlay 2 (with Sonos or any other - I own Devialet) is a decent solution ? I think atmos is working through ?

Hello SHS, wondering if you can tell me how to add an HDMI switch (w/eArc) to soundbars that typically only have 1 HDMI port (specifically the Sonos Arc). I've bought multiple switches but to my surprise, I get no sound at all. I have a room where I have a projector set up just like you indicate on this video on time 6:08. Additionally, I have a Samsung TV that also connects to the same soundbar (since not everything I watch needs to be on the projector). Usually I just manually plug/unplug the HDMI cables on the back of the Sons Arc depending on the source I want to use (tv or projector), but it would be nice to have a switch (with a remote) to switch inputs. Thank you.

Or the other LG projector with the same Sonos arc soundbar and ps5. Any solution please?

Is connecting projector headphone 3.5mm jack of projector to RCA port on Sonos Connect/Amp/Port a viable solution ? Thank you

i agree with what most people wrote: the soundbar and projector are likely at opposite ends of the room, running a cable isn’t practical. what bugs me is that sonos beam 2 doesn’t have bluetooth but is wifi based. however, running apple tv on a projector, i assume a wifi soundbar connected to the projector would still work? no good info on that

    • @maikul3

can you airplay the sound to the sonos trhough the AppleTV?

    • @flotroy9118
      @flotroy9118 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

yeah that works no problem. apple tv wont let me select the soundbar as the standard audio output but rather as temporary audio output in the audio menu. however once you've selected it as temporary output it remains selected, even if you turn apple tv off and on again after, so that's not an issue really.

Got a Viewsonic LX700-4k which has an eARC port and hooked it up with an Nvdia Shield TV Pro 2019 and Sonos Beam Gen 2, but surround audio with Atmos just doesn't work.. best I could get is Dolby Digital 5.1. There's something wrong with how this projector uses eARC, I've sent it back once for malfunction already.

  • @mikekane9734

Well, that's the waste. The last option with eArc wont work, as on the output of your matrix switch you have a "cut out" signal without Atmos information. So by adding device capable to bring eArc and split the signal at that point there are no Atmos signal.
