Suddenly Yu has not two potential love interests, but three! I'd be happy if he ended up with senpai-chan, Ino-kun, or knock off kaguya. MC energy from Yu, and all those girls have big time end game potential

I don't wanna spoil anything.... but the flashback in the beginning has a very distinct function in both the Manga and the show.... it is to hammer home, for anyone who didn't "get it" until this point, that what's really keeping Miyuki and Kaguya apart is their difference in social status/class.... that's what the storx is really about.... also, it marks a clear break in genre/approach.... there will still be the comedic breaks/aspect but in general, from now on things will get very serious....
Honestly, I can understand parents sending their kids to elite school thinking it will be beneficial with making good connections for the future. But if the other side is not open to connect with you to start with, it's just torturing your children's minds in a super exclusive environment. I feel for your family member, Teddy. Hope he did go on to finish in a public school
Yeah it was brutal hearing about it, I asked my mum and he did end up graduating but you were right in saying the goal was to try and get some connections but ultimately THAT wasn't very successful....
I understand that many children who are put into elites schools being "peasants" could be emotionally hurt in the process, but from a pure benefit standpoint I'd argue it's worth it, after all if your child has the capacity (Like Miyuki did for example) to do really well, as long as He/She has a few friends, hell, even one, that's a really important connection. In the future maybe your child or grandchild can go to those schools and be one more of the elite instead of a random "peasant". At least that's how my family climbed out lf poverty to be rather wealthy and probably what will happen to the Shiroganes.
yeah if you just make a few friends there, those friends will be rich, can hook you up with investors if you want to start a business or get a recommendation to a high-paying corporate job (which are always given to people who know people)
I relate way to hard to Miyuki, i got into a prívate school and my first year was the most lonely thing i have ever experienced, the level of wealth was ridiculous.

when kaguya said that she wouldn't help without anything in return, i initially thought she meant it (i'm sorta phlegmatic, so if a character says they're unkind, you know, they would know themself) but considering how her personality is heavily shown throughout the series, i realized it was just her first signs of tsundere-ness
