Master of His Domain: Best of George Costanza

- Seinfeld is my favorite television show ever, and George Costanza is my favorite television character ever. Here are my favorite George moments from this incredible show. This is only part one of a four-part series (I'm sure you can guess what the other three parts will be).
I just found out that Jason Alexander was the only one of the 4 main actors NOT to win an Emmy for his work, although I think he was by far the best character and performer!
He didn't? That's a travesty for sure. George's animated neuroses by far was the biggest draw for me tho' I love all 4 of the main, George was just in a class of his own.
He didn't win an Emmy because he was always going up against Michael Richards as Kramer and David Hyde Pierce as Niles Crane. Tough competition and they both shared the bulk of the Emmy's leaving Jason out. Funny how I admire and respect both Michael and Hyde Pierce, but George is the best character of all three. By far.
Eric van Bezooijen Do you mean to say that Julia Louis-Dreyfus won an Emmy, but Jason Alexander did not???! Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a below average B grade actor, for god's sake!
"below average B grade actor"!?! You obviously have not seen her work on HBO's VEEP. She has deservedly won three consecutive Emmy's for her amazing portrayal on that show. A very difficult balancing act of a role that she has full blown massacred with her talent. I don't believe any other actress of her or this generation could pull off such a range of emotions and still have the timing to make that character absolutely hysterical. Flawless performance. She's quite possibly in the top three of female television comedienne's, of all time.
Eric van Bezooijen that's true, george was brilliant
"I love a good nap. Sometimes it's the only thing getting me out of bed in the morning."
7:30 "I'm not gay! My name's Buck Naked, I'm a porno actor."
"The sea was angry that day my friends"
Nailed it. That's totally George's best moment.
"Like an old man trying to send back soup to a deli..." Hahaha
"Is anyone a Marine Biologist?".....that "OOOH 'F' No!" LOOK on George's face!
My understanding is that Larry and Jerry were up late writing that monologue the night before, Jason Alexander memorized it that day and nailed it first go.
@John England-Marine Biologist is my FAVORITE episode!!!😎😊
His Broadway performance totally shined in that episode
At the time everyone was head-over-heals for Kramer but looking back, we can all agree that Jason Alexander (George) was truly the anchor of this franchise. Fantastic actor. Fantastic delivery. Fantastic character.
*heels, not heals
No one actor/character was the anchor.
Everyone were important.
No. Seinfeld plots were clearly George-centered
I agree. I was 12 when the show ended, but I always watched it with my parents. Kramer was my favorite because of how goofy he was and all of his physical comedy. But when I got the DVD set as an adult around 2005, George instantly became my favorite. I didn’t appreciate/understand the humor as a kid I guess. But he is the best character on the show IMO. Unbelievably funny and still holds up 21+ years later
It wasn't written though. The whole scene was improvised after they didn't like the original ending.
How the hell did this guy not win an Emmy?
"A GEORGE DIVIDED AGAINST ITSELF CANNOT STAND!!!"
true story, most important thing in life is to be free and independent
WORLDS WILL COLLIDE!!
The Emmys committee needs to hear these words
The best sitcom ever created in my humble opinion.
+Richard Davis no not really. its only costanza and kramer. elaine was decent but jerry is just boring
+MrJJtheboss yes...yor are right ...jerry is 0
what...WRONG dont be SAWFT
+MrJJtheboss Jerry (the character) isn't "boring", that's ridiculous. He was the main character of (arguably) the funniest show ever. Just because the supporting characters were also funny (or even funnier) doesn't make him "un"-funny. Granted, among the four primary characters his was the most "normal", i.e. closest to being a normal person. But you can be the "normal" one (in a group) and still be funny.
jerry is "boring" because he is the only "normal" character. that contrast is key to make George and Kramer so much funnier
“You’re not out there, you can’t be, because I am out there and if I see you out there, there isn’t enough voltage in this world to electroshock me back into coherence.”
The first time you watch Seinfeld, you instantly love Kramer. Every subsequent time you watch the show, you realize Seinfeld is what it is because of the George character.
i still say “The Opposite” was his finest hour.
Aren't you D.B.Cooper?
My favorite episode
Yes that was a great George episode
I don’t know, The Marine Biologist was my favorite, but he excelled all over the place.
yeah because of that episode he got a job at the New York Yankees.
God he’s such a natural. His character is so convincing you truly believe he IS George Costanza in real life.
It's not a lie, if you believe it. - George Costanza (this line says it all)
Tony Abbott
+ruispuuro Like the South Park thumbnail pic
"It's not a lie, if you believe it." ----- George Costanza, a.k.a. Brian Stelter with CNN .
ifnu dont believe
This is the exact quote I was thinking about.
Elaine: "you know, just admitting that a man is handsome doesn't necessarily mean that you're a homosexual."
George: "It doesn't help."
Missing my all time favorite Costanza line: First guy: "I've been living a lie." George: "Just one? I've been living like twenty." ALso, love it when he stands in the front of the theater and goes off: "I know you're out there! Laughing and lying and laughing. I had to eat at Reggie's, Jerry. Reggie's!"
My favorite Georgeline adn itis TRUE: Hey! You're not going to fnd anything better than Ring Dings and Pepsi!!!!
The greatest character in the history of television
No way...shut up

"You don't need glasses, you're just weak! YOU'RE WEAK!!!"
YOU’RE KILLING HIM!!!
“I am disturbed. I am depressed. I am inadequate. I GOT IT ALL !!!” 😂
George Costanza taught me a wonderful lesson. In real life, he would annoy the hell out of me. I would hate George Costanza, I'm nearly certain. But as a sitcom character, he's hilarious! Absolutely golden. Anyway, so now when I encounter someone I have to deal with in real life who I cannot tolerate, I make him or her a sitcom character. And instead of letting them bother me, I find they are hilarious, too. In sum, George Costanza has given me a healthier outlook on life.
Holy shit that's a great idea
+andan04 You're like the lemonade-master! Take me under your wing..
+andan04 The mere thought of George Costanza giving some one a healthier outlook on anything boggles the mind..
+andan04 Always the funny part of the life is better.
+andan04 Did you ever stop to think that you might be the annoying party ? Food for thought.
George's message is the perfect answering machine message.
314rft I had it as my answering machine message once...nobody got it
Probably the one thing he got right in his life.
@@ianfinrir8724lol
George have the most engaging shouting voice EVER on prime time television! I love when he shouts. Maybe I'm a drama queen. My favorite character.
His voice made Duckman a great animated serie....nobody could do it better
GEORGE IS GETTIN' UPSET!!!! ;)
He is vocally virtuoso
Agree about his dramatic shouting voice.
“I proclaim this the summer of George.” 😂
"ARE YOU CRAZY??? THIS IS LIKE DISCOVERING PLUTONIUM BY ACCIDENT!"
That lady carrying him was strong af😂😂😂😂
"Well, Timmy!...I don't dip that way. You dip how you wanna dip and I'll dip the way I wanna dip."
That women's laugh when he showed the golf ball. That was no laugh track, but a real audience. That laugh made me laugh harder.
It is pure live studio audience laugh
@@superlex611 No it is not. Canned laughter was used to blend different takes of real laughter. If it was pure studio laughs the audio would be very jarring with harsh cuts between different takes that were edited together
"You don't need glasses you're weak!"
"LEAVE HIM ALOOOONNNEEE"
"It's not a lie...if you believe it"!!! Pure heartfelt sincerity!!! Cheers All
Could be a Trump slogan
+Louis Delmonte ;)
I had never acted before.
I, on a bet, tried out for a part in our local theater group.
I landed the part.
All because, being a Seinfeld fanatic, I studied Jason Alexander's techniques which to me are perfect.
Thanks to Jason for a new outlook on life.
Jackie Gleason
You're killing independent George!! 😆
"It's not a lie if you believe it." I use that line all the time!
Al Bundy You and your boy Trump!!!
"And you wanted to be my latex salesman?"
Believe it or not George isn't at home so leave a messaaaaaage at the beep...I must be out or I'd pick up the phone, where could I beeeeeeeee...believe or not I'm not hoooooooooome.
"Sorry Allison I must of got your machine at home, I guess I should of tried you at your office. Well see ya! Really looking forward to the ball!" Hahaha
His face after "Where could I beeee '??" always cracks me up !!
@@goncalodvd 😂 Right?
Anyone else watching Seinfeld and Simpsons on repeat until they don't have to be alive anymore
Yes. Yes, I am.
Jason Alexander started as a song and dance man. He is a wonderful guy, having dedicated much of 12 years of his life to helping to care for his very ill sister, Karen, until her death in 2014. She suffered from scleroderma, which has many manifestations, and in severe cases can lead to death. It is a debilitating disease and Jason did what he could.
An awesome collection. George was a great character, the guy who really made Seinfeld funny. I can't believe Jason Alexander never won an Emmy for this show yet somehow Michael Richards won 3.
Agreed.
He's won 3 SAG awards
Really. Michael Richards was great as Kramer, but George was the whole show, if he were to have not been included then the show would never have been close to as funny as it was.
I agree. While Michael Richard's Kramer is a one in a million character, George was a far more interesting character and had far more impactful story arcs.
Post Seinfeld, Kramer never worked on other worthwhile projects while Jason Alexander has.
4:12 should have been number one. "Was that wrong?" sums up the crazy lengths George goes to very well.
George's break-up story with Marlene was art
When i was younger, i liked Married with children, after 20, i was in love with Seinfeld. George and Frank are my fav.
I just noticed that in the earlier episodes he had a thicker NY accent. Excellent compilation!
Early on Jason Alexander was doing a Woody Allen impression but changed when he realized he was actually playing Larry David.
Seinfeld is one of very few series I've seen EVERY SINGLE episode of waaaay more than once and owned the entire series on DVD to boot! LOVE 😀🤣❤🙏🇨🇦 Just ABSOLUTE GENIUS EVERYTHING! Thank you ALL ❤ 🙏😀
Brilliant acting by Jason Alexander, still makes me laugh like the first time i saw it haha
the answering machine song and his face rock! Rollin' anytime

+Lydia D C The Sea Was Angry my Friends
Unknown Entity LOL !!
+Lydia D C where could I be?
George made the show. No question.
george is a man of the people
Unlike Hillary.
#ConstanzaForPresident2020
John Canary Hillary isn't male. What's Trump's excuse?
Hillary is a criminal who belongs in jail. With obama and her loser husband.
John Canary Got a crime you can name?
The involuntary squeeze of the sauce bottle and resultant squirt is one of the funniest moments in the series.... it’s brilliant
What made the series so fabulous, was how everyone had minuscule reasons for their hilariously awkward situations.
Great compilation- I miss the one where I think Jerry says, "I'm living a lie" and George says something like, "who cares, I'm living like 3"
ThatsNotGravy I think you're thinking of when Gary, the guy who faked having cancer, said he's living a lie, then George says, "just one? I'm living like 20."
"You're not Cartwri-"
"OF COURSE I'M NOT CARTWRIGHT!"
I remember watching this episode with my mom back in the 90's. We were laughing so hard with tears coming out of our eyes and my poor dad just couldn't understand what was so funny.
" She invites me up at 12 o'clock at night for coffee and I don't go up...I don't want coffee, it keeps me up.....I said this to her." HAhahaa...I love George.
One of the best lines in TV history (in my opinion): "George is gettin' upset!!!" LMAO!!!!
To this day I still recite George Costanza lines to this day 😂😂
Greatest television show of all time
AGREED!!!!
"shringkage" one the most hilariously iconic line of the show!
"you are not out there because I am out there...." Classic George
I remember every single episode and OMFGGGGGG. I still looooove this show! It's stupid and funny in it's own way. #1 was indeed THE BEST
"That's very dirty. That's absolutely filthy."
He ejaculated there.
I knew the whale clip would be #1 I laughed for days after that episode, recalling the scene.
"The sea was angry that day my friends"
"Like an old man trying to send back soup at a deli"
Best Seinfeld scene ever was George telling that story. ;);)';)
Jason Alexander revealed that the monologue at the end was not in the original script; the writers were not happy with the episode and while filming it they decided to add a little story from George about the golf ball, and they asked Jason how long he would need to memorize a few pages more if they went and quickly wrote something for him. Jason said he'd need ten minutes, and then he did the speech about the whale, and the studio audience and crew went nuts laughing.
"I don't want to be remembered, I wan't to be forgotten"
LMAO!
This is gold Jerry. Gold!
The best, Jerry.
The best
"The Opposite", probably the best episode of the whole series. Complete subversion : George is nailing it :D
Number 5 is the best line in Tv history. The whole "the opposite" episod is awesome!
The best sitcom ever to exist.
The sea was angry that day my friends. Like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli.
Brilliant acting-the sea was angry that day my friend.. Epic!
That little shoulder shrug he does with his answering maching had me laughing hard
This is the best George Costanza compilation I've seen
I'll never not be delighted by the little disbelieving squeal when George produces the golf ball. It's such a beautiful moment
Just brilliant - thanks !
All core characters were terrific. I also regard Newman as a core character even though he did not appear in every episode.
Top five sitcom characters of all time.
What? How did I ever missed that part with Frogger? That was hilarious.
They forgot the scene when George was a hand model, Kramer had an electric handshake buzzer and shook his hand and then George flipped out! 😂
If it was a regular salad I wouldn't have said anything, but you had to have the BIG Salad! 😆
John Berg That little hip wiggle just sells it
George is best when playing his own enemy.
I fully endorse this
“Hang on Ma, hang on.”
Another good one: “My father’s gay.”
Here here have some tic tacs
"The sea was angry that day my friends" Lmao
"Like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli"
“I’m disturbed..I’m depressed..I’m inadequate..I’ve got it all!!”
Prophetic
George Kramer and Newman are my favourite in this series. I won't miss Jerry and Elaine much.
same here.
Awesome actor, I am without speech, I have no speech!!!!
To think, that I LITERALLY KNOW every single episode,
I'm LITERALLY EVERY one of them
Seinfeld, Elaine, George, Kramer....
love the voice mail msg lol. the good old times...
Yeah - that was funny
Great collection although I'm really missing the 'worlds are colliding!' When Elaine starts hanging out with Susan
+Tom-Tom Schatz i really love how he shakes that basketball while saying worlds are colliding
Even better at the end when Susan hates em and says theyre boring
After you've watched Curb, watching Seinfeld after changes when you realize George is actually Larry David. It's actually funnier now. Hard to believe.
Justin Sane omg so true....
THE SEA WAS ANGRY THAT DAY, MY FRIENDS .............
like an old man, trying to send back soup in a deli
I don't even know Him As Jason Alexander, every time I see him all I say it's George 😂
"...and you wanna be my latex salesman."
"Hire this man!"
I wish the Yankees really DID hire George Constanza--he'd probably have taken them down from the inside, and they wouldn't have won squat from the mid-90's on. ;)
Kudos to Jerry, Julia, and Michael for not going up and laughing every time Jason did his thing. Somehow they got their jobs done.
Man Hands. This show was and remains the best ever. So many real life situations
hahahaha! Georgy boy deffinatley deserved an EMMY for his classic performances!
Great list! I would have added when George pretended he was a long-term smoker in front of Susan.
God bless them all for all the happy momenfs they have given millions of poeple worldwide.
love me some George..."hey, can'tstandya"
Best show ever. Jesus Christ.
Yes!!! Is there anything that will be considered a close second ...or second best ?
It depends on wether you are a fan... or not
***** Seinfeld is my all time favorite show! George and Krammer are equally iconic television characters. But, when you take in, not only the character in the show, but how groundbreaking and the impact that character had on society, that conversation begins and ends (in my opinion) with Archie Bunker. :-)
jesus had nothing to do with it
Iconic Infidel
You are right, it was festivus
This show is such a unique experience with brilliant writing it's just always funny, even decades later.
you missed the jacket episode when he wants to know how much did it cost jerry's jacket
What about the chocolate shirt? That was Gold too.
The frogger episode is just hilarious 🤣
George is getting upset. lol
+2135nader To really capture George's energy when he says that, you need to use ALL CAPS and a few exclamation points!!! ;)
He got that from Jimmy.
Gammy’s getting upset. 😂
"Son of a BANG!!! Son of a BOOM!!!"
is it weird that this man is my Hero! honestly my HERO
The most insane of us kicking against the insanity around us.
