I was referring to occupation mission, at the start Old King always calls you a lapdog. Also, I remember I got my S rank on hard using a pair of plasma back weapons. I think they did 10k DMG per hit through PA, so I effectively killed each NEXT with 2 double shots. Haven't played the game in years so I don't recall the name, but consider looking into it.
@@Ultimatestrife ah right , the million deaths made me think of the mission where you destroy the craddle and old king is counting but yes xb i will look into that :D
In this game, health costs so much more than ammo that you should never even consider ammo costs, whether in normal gameplay or when s-ranking. Also if time matters for s-ranks in any AC game I'd be somewhat surprised honestly. I've never considered speed but I guess if it was a requirement I would have no way to know since "hit everything really hard" isn't just the best way to take low damage, it's also quite fast as a consequence. Also, don't ever compromise speed for health, for the same reason. End of mission repair costs are based entirely on the amount of AP you lose, not a percentage. So take the lightest possible build that holds all the weapons you want.
I had problems with the last mission as well. Apparently the best way to keep an S rank is to use Assault Armor and nail them as they are entering the area.
Ah, Arteria Carpals, I literally lost sleep over trying to S rank its hard mode. No worries man, you did great, it's considered a feat beating the normal mode, let alone hard mode - that S rank is insanely difficult. So, a very important thing for S ranks is that repair costs depend on how many AP you lose. If you're running a tank with a lot of health, even if you survive with 20k you might still have lost 25-30k AP, forfeiting the S. So it's less about having a lot of AP, and more about evading and mitigating damage (which is mostly done through Primal Armor). That S is the ultimate test of skill of both piloting and building, and if you go check on youtube there's people who do it while fighting all five at once in the main arena, some even JUST WITH BLADES. Pure insanity, and an absolute wonder to witness. Personally, I did it by using two of the massive vertical missile launchers on my back, and dual spread bazookas as arm weapons. The spread bazookas are an insanely powerful weapon at close range (especially if you use the arms with the highest aim accuracy) and they can destroy a NEXT in even just 2-3 well placed shots, while the missiles were meant to soften my targets as much as possible. I also tried to hit a couple shots as the enemies were flying in, a time where they're fully vulnerable. And it still took 2-3 days of tries, but it was probably my greatest achievement in any game. :3 I can't help but wonder if VI will have a mission of this caliber, parts of me wants one, parts of me isn't that masochistic. We'll see. Just a couple more days to Rubicon by the way, can't help to see you play it! :D Unfortunately I won't watch any ACVI content until I at least complete it as much as I can blind, but afterwards you can be sure I'll be back to enjoy your adventure as well! Until then, have a good one! :3
Thanks man :D yeah i kinda get it, these challenges are hard, frustrsting even, but they are also one of the things where you can say "i managed to beat this" and it actually means something xb
I remember this mission! I believe I used a quad legs and dual blades. When you press both attack buttons you do a double stab and the damage is unreal. 2-3 solids hits will kill anything and you can maximize mobility.
Haha, great video! I love that you took on the occupation on hard. For an S-Rank, I'd go with a Kojima Build - You can take out one of them as they boost in right away and then ignite Assualt Armor in the middle of them for huge dmg. Also, you can shortcut the Unidentified AF with an extra fast melee build to destroy the AF before the Sol Dios deploy. This way, it kills all of them in one swoop.
occupation is super easy once you look at the spec of all the acs you are fighting... they all have a minimal chase range and a maximum atk range. so if you go in as a long range sniper (with a really fast reverse booster) you can tank-kite all the them and they will not fire back at you. as long as you stay with in there "grey"(it a little lower then the longest sniper fcs you can use) distance. it been a while but i saw all the FCS's had that weird grey range where they will not boost or fire at you. if you can hold that range and just do laps around the area, you can slowly pick them off (they also will not try and dodge any of your fire). OR! you could just load in a super light weight dual blade mech thats over-dosing on speed and quick boost every 1/2 second so they can't target you and rip them into nothingness. ( but the games camera will also not be able to see you, super fun though)
The S rank requirements are unfair. If you want S rank without the hassle you can glitch long rifles through the wall and shoot. Pop the assault armor (which also hits through walls) and hit em with the rifles.
I personally had to cheese the game just to get an S rank (Reg 1.0 white glint missiles) 😅. Speedrunners use the kojima cannon + dual blades on quad legs.
A strategy I used is duel shoulder Kojima cannons to blow up Otdsarva right away, purge them, and then use double blades on the other ACs. Double grenade launchers or Bazooka arms are good too.
I can't give you advice on getting S rank on this... except this one bit of advice: Max out your tuning points (save for S rank on this mission itself) is basically required for a human being to pull it off. However you tune, the raw stats are gonna help. For whatever it might be worth to you, I appreciate your effort on this. I considered clearing it with a B rank to be pretty much peak performance from myself.
For the most part, the S-Rank goals are ONLY AP-based. In general, if you have over 70% of your AP remaining you'll get the S-Rank. Some missions are more generous and allow you as low as 30%. Also, the Motorcobra's a way better machine gun. better way to deal with Stigro: equip rockets and start firing as soon as you gain control, you can destroy it before it even starts moving tip for Spirit of Motherwill: bring flares (Yasmin or 063 are great options), a grenade launcher, and a blade (any blade will do). Switch to manual aim mode (press and hold the left stick by default I think, you'd have to check) and use the grenade launcher to destroy the missile launchers, launching flares as necessary. Once the missile launchers are down, use your blade on the two cannon turrets and the mission's done. Better method for dealing with the Unidentified Arms Fort: equip blades and overboost under it then attack it, free win, no damage, no ammo. Occupation of Arteria Carpals: There's two "easy" methods for this mission, option one is to play on the 1.0 regulation and use the Saline missile launchers, they're SUPER BROKEN on that reg. The other option is to use a sniper build and kite them in a circle around carpals, it's really boring but it gives you a fairly high chance of retaining AP. If you do this method, consider using the 1.2 regulations, the Phact railgun is super broken on that reg. tbh, I've always used the "cheese" methods for these because it's just the AI.
I might try a cheese like that, beating that mission is so frustrating and sometimes more than one dude jumps over the wall at the same time and destroys your mission xb ill keep trying
If you beat all of the missions on S rank you get a rather funny equipment unlock in the garage. For the super duper extra hard mission I beat it with dual laser blades, dual railguns, dual grenade launchers and sniper rifles, kojima missiles, etc. You've got to bring heavy firepower to get the S reliably. Otherwise you are more reliant on good RNG.
It took me a long ass time to finally get an S rank on this mission I didn't get it until very recently, and even when I did get it, it was on Regulation 1.15 it's so fucking cancer. lol
If you want a way to get s rank you have to set your reg to a certain one for unlimited flight and overboost and use dual moonlight or pilebunker. Its how i s ranked it.
You can get under the fins where they connect to the main body and there's a cylinder that sticks out that you can attack. Destroying that will destroy the whole arms fort. It's also hilarious as the fins all fall off.
Even before watching the video, I bet it involves a certain 100 million deaths and a lapdog.
Indirectly it does i guess xb but thats not the hardest mission xb
