But if you want a specific answer, then stay with me here…. There are quite a few single note open riffs in on several songs such as on What Will Become and Linchpin and there is a a more emphasised groove type rhythm on many songs which is typical of nu metal. And most of all, where is the absolutely brutal and bludgeoning death metal-esque tone that crushes you like on the first three albums? There is next to no such heaviness like that on this album. It is still a nice album though, it is just a different flavour.

Korn was also like the band that created nu metal. Bands like Faith No More has been one of the founders of alternative metal. Primus, White Zombie, and Helmet also came along before Korn released their first album.
this album was new when I started doing the fireworks for the KC Royals....we used to listen to it on the way up from manhattan Ks up to the stadium in KC....my buddy had just bought a new amp and subs.....sounded fuckin awesome in his 83 caprice classic(which is now mine)!!!
